Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The dark witch stared at the doctor for several moments. Being a test subject, losing her powers would not be too bad a trade since it meant they would have no reason to treat her this way any longer. But magic was her life and once one had power, it was difficult to let go. The woman before her knew this, knew that she was in total control and seemed to enjoy flaunting it every chance she got. Even if she wanted to attack the woman, assuming it was not a lie, the inhibitors would just go to full power and seal her powers before she reached the scientist.
Defeated, she released her mana. She stared right back at the woman, her hands clenched but unable to do anything to change her fate. The only thing her outburst did was end the experiment for the time being. Whether that was good or bad did not matter much. "That won't be necessary," she replied, "I can continue now. You made your point and there is little to gain from delaying things further." The witch was given time to rest and being mad was not going to hinder her any. If anything, it would just make it easier to take out her frustrations on some holograms. The sooner she finished, the sooner she would be let go.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The woman merely stared at Kanoe, remaining silent for a moment before she turned to return to her computer, where she seated herself and began preparing for the next exercise. Before long, the familiar sight of the two monsters Kanoe had destroyed were then reproduced, appearing the same. Though, this time, they were a bit faster, a bit stronger, a bit more durable. This time, they were more capable of using their 'heads' as the program controlling them had less handicaps to work with.
The two creatures began off the same way, the larger one approaching Kanoe first as the tentacled monster moved to the side. But this time, the larger one was not moving as fast as it had before, and the tentacles were swaying about threateningly, as if they were preparing themselves to strike at her the second she dropped her guard. And as she watched, the doctor decided to bump the setting up once more, making them even more capable, and even more difficult, for the student to deal with.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The same monsters from before reappeared. There was no way to tell what sort of changes if any were done to her opponents. They seemed a bit more cautious as they approached slower with one trying to flank her again. Kanoe channeled her mana and began to circle around the larger monster, keeping it between her and the tentacled creature. As much as she wanted to just destroy them and move on, the witch decided to show caution just incase something changed.
Flames lick across her finger trips as she brought both hands infront of her. Chanting the words of magic, the flames swirled and gathered into a large ball of flame that grew larger by the moment. With a sharp cry she threw it directly at the monster, hoping to hit him or the monster behind him. But even then, she would force the ball to explode between the monsters in hopes to catch them in the blast.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
Dr. Steiner watched as the student showed caution this time, patiently noting down anything that seemed important. The monsters continued to move the same, though as Kanoe tried to keep them in the same sight, the larger one began to shift its direction, moving in the same direction as the student while the tentacled one moved in the opposite as the program began mapping the best possible routes for them to take. The scientist didn't bother stifling a chuckle this time.
As soon as the student threw her flaming ball, the one with the tentacles suddenly moved faster than it ever had before, until it just disappeared, having moved over the established boundary as set down by the program. It was not gone, but rather hidden as if it were obstructed by something instead. The larger creature, though, remained where it was and instead raised its arm to block the ball of flames, which burst against the creature. Cracks formed upon its arm as it dangled down uselessly, but apart from that, the monster was not staggered in any manner, instead moving forward toward Kanoe faster now.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The witch panted softly as the ball hit dead on but merely crippled an arm. The other monster went completely invisible, leaving little for the woman to do to it. She will need to take out this brute fast and then deal with the unseen foe. The larger monster was now rushing forward to attack, leaving her little time to consider her situation. She began gathering shadows into her hand once more. The darkness swirled into a pitch black orb but seemed to be rather small. Even as more wisps were added to the orb, it did not gain any size as it instead became a denser and denser ball of dark mana.
Kanoe rushed forward towards the monster as well, going head to head as she kept gathering more and more mana. Her chanting grew louder and seemed to crawl on the walls as they filled the room in an unknown language. With her free hand she would lash out with a spray of flames aimed right for the monster's face. The attack was light, used to mask its vision before she ducks under the one good arm and slams the ball of darkness right into the monster's stomach. She aimmed to push it into the monster and detonating it inside the beast in a large internal blast.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The monster had moved at the same time as the student, intending on clashing with her and bringing the fight to an area where the student could not win in, that of brute strength. It was a good plan, until the creature's vision was temporarily impaired, and blind to the student's movements. The program was fair as it did not allow the creature to 'see' without sight, as that would have gone against the 'laws' which dictated the simulation. Blinded, unable to defend itself, the creature felt the full force of the student's offense, cracking almost instantly from within, pieces falling apart and disappearing as what was left swayed for a moment...
Only to fall forward, crashing and shattering into countless shards, destroyed. It seemed that, even when 'injured' badly, they could reform themselves but if they were injured beyond the point of restoration, then they were unable to repair themselves. Her victory was short lived as a tentacle appeared from beyond the boundary and wrapped itself around Kanoe's ankle as soon as the creature had toppled over, its comrade going on the offense now. Her foot pulled from under her, the student was sent to the ground as the tentacle disappeared, the monster merely toying with her.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The spell work, the blast shattering the monster from the inside out. The witch could feel the blast ripple up her arm, numbing it with pain as she gasped for breath. The woman was forced to use more and more of her unrestrained powers in order to damage and destroy these things. She still had alot to learn about using her mana more efficiently. Unfortunately, she had the other monster to deal with still.
"Oof!" She grunts in pain as she tripped by a tentacle. The witch groaned as she slowly got back up, getting a bit winded from using two large spells in quick succession. But she had no time to rest. Kanoe had to find a way to reveal the monster and destroy it. Chanting, she summoned wisps of flame that began to swirl outwards around her body. She kept adding more mana to produce more fire as she struggled to maintain the large shape around her body. Controlling mana further away was difficult and sweat glistened her body and soaked into her simple white clothes. Expanding further and further, she intended the flames to outline her hidden attack to give her a place to aim for.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The doctor watched as she was interested, despite being disappointed that the first monster had done little to stimulate the student, save for drawing out more of her power. Apart from being able to deliver rather powerful attacks, she could see that the student was largely unaccustomed to being able to use this much power, being worn down after the first monster. Well, at least that was something. On the other hand, she did not seem to be coping well with the development of there being blind areas for the monsters to hide in, the expanding wave of flames revealing nothing whatsoever. It was only after a moment's time that a tentacle appeared again, from above this time as it wrapped around the student's neck, pulling her up off her feet, as if to try and disrupt her spellcasting.
Careful to not harm the student, the program released her from the tentacle's grasp and allowed her to fall back down to the floor, the distance being too small to even cause any pain apart from knocking the wind out of her. It was then that Dr. Steiner wondered whenever the third setting might be too much for her guinea pig after all. "Having problems, I take it...?" She then wondered whenever Kanoe would admit to being too weak to handle the situation or if her pride would deny it.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
"Ack!" The witch gasped as she felt the tendril wrap around her throat and lift her off the floor, temporarily halting her voice before dropping her to the floor. She did not know there were blind areas in the room. Besides some equipment, the room did not seem mishaped in a way to allow any corners to hide behind. The witch remained on her knees, panting heavily. The last spell took alot out of her and it did not look like she could continue fighting. Without more practice and training, she was simply not equiped to deal with invisible monsters yet especially when low on mana. Even with a spell to reveal the creature, all the monster had to do was choke her midcast and it would halt all attempts to cast a spell.
Kanoe did not say anything but made no attempts to continue fighting. Her body felt heavy and every muscle in her body ached. Running extremely low on mana was dangerous and was always the worst sensation one could feel inside her body. It was rather obvious who the victor of this fight was going to be.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
As if the creature agreed on that sentiment, sensing that it was the clear victor of their battle, the monster finally dropped out of its safety and onto the floor, tentacles swaying around it as usual. The program that governed it had calculated the student's chances of winning to be near nil and had judged the risk of defeat to be too small to come to fruition. The monster, facing down a student that was practically unable to fight back anymore, began to move toward her, intending on performing the other aspect of its existence, stimulating the carnal lust of true monsters...
Only to fade out of existence, the program no longer running now, as Dr. Steiner deactivated the exercise. Marking it down as a failure for the time being, the woman remained seated as she stared at the student. Well, perhaps it was not all that much of a failure as there was always the opportunity to learn from it and grow stronger. What was it she had heard before? "Failure is the springboard of success." Yes, that was it. "One out of two, not bad for this exercise. We shall try again tomorrow, but for the time being, you're done."

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The monster seemed to realize that his prey could fight no longer and came down to end the battle. It came closer, reaching out to grab the fallen witch. Just before the thing's tendrils touched her, they faded away into nothing. Kanoe could not see or feel the monster in the room. She was a bit shocked that she was given this small mercy. Dealing with monsters and those who work with them, she half expected her clothes to be coming off. The witch was not about to question or complain though.
She continued to catch her breath. Her entire body ached as if she just ran a marathon or three. The doctor gave her some praise despite failing in her little experiment. Unfortunately, she mentioned trying more tomorrow. The woman was not done using the dark witch. In no condition to fight back or argue, Kanoe spent her energy trying to get back up to her feet. Once steady on her feet, she moved towards the doctor and waited to be taken away.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
Dr. Steiner watched as her guinea pig returned to her, somewhat steady on her feet once again after all that she had gone through. Well, as much as she had said the student had failed, she had still gotten a wealth of data to go through, so it was technically a success in a manner of speaking. Seeing that Kanoe was still in a bad way after using up her 'mana', the woman sighed as she got up, gathered her notes and clipboard and slipped her arm around the student. "Put your arm around my neck, young lady. It'll be a bit of a walk back to your quarters, and don't argue."

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
The taller woman helped provide support for the still shaky student. She did not want to be close to this evil woman but had little choice in the matter. Slowly, her arm slipped around the doctor's shoulder and neck, easing some of the burden off of her. With the adrenaline wearing off, she was fading fast. Exhaustion hit her like a truck and her eyes felt heavy as they fell half mast. She was too tired to argue and it was best not to argue with the woman who could summon monsters made of light through the use of technology. Things could have ended alot worse so there was no point in starting any trouble.

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
Keeping one hand on the student's arm that was slung over her neck and her arm wrapped around Kanoe's waist, the doctor allowed her guinea pig to lean against her for support as she helped her out of the large laboratory and back into the hallway they had been through earlier, where the inhibitors were on in full force, preventing her from using her abilities once again, even if she had the energy to do so. "Will you be wishing to get in some sleep and recover, or would you prefer to make use of our restroom and wash off yourself?"

Re: For the Sake of Science [for Kanoe]
Even with most of her strength spent, the feeling of her powers being sealed away did not escape her. It was a horrible sensation, like the heavy blast doors closing her off completely inside her. She was once more nothing more than an ordinary student while in these hallways. The doctor continued to guide the witch through the halls before giving her a couple of options. Both would have sound refreshing if it were not the fact she was a prisoner here. "I'll rest first, I guess," she answered softly, "Clean up when I wake up." With how tired she was, she would not have to worry about not falling asleep even in the middle of enemy territory. She could only hope that when she woke up, that it was back in her dorm room and not in the labs.
