Not too far away there was a small town but as she rounded the bend Ryu could tell at once that there was a ton of activity here given the spot lights that constantly searched the nights sky. The town itself seemed occupied, she could see through the windshield of the truck several soldiers though not one civilian.

The road into the town itself was blocked by a jeep that was parked perpenticular to the road as to not admit anyone and she could see that their was a radio in it on the passenger seat and a single soldier leaning against it. He was smoking and had a rifle slung over his shoulder though as she came into view he slid the rifle off of it's position of rest, he saying something as he lifted up the rifle and took aim against her or was it the truck that he was aiming at.

She noted that the soldier wore a long coat that had a fringe of fur at it's end and one the cuffs, he was also wearing a black furry style hat and his jacket, a green in coloration, was fastened up at the front.

She could see that he was making his way toward the radio leisurely while still keeping her covered with the rifle.

Ryu soon ended up at what appeared to be a roadblock, strangely enough there wasn't much beside a single man and his jeep, in which she noticed a radio while she was slowing down and examined the scene. The truck came to a full stop, the engine still running because she couldn't tell how this would work out, after all she was wearing the garments of a prisoner. It wasn't long before she sighed in relief, clearly she wasn't dealing with the Germans at this point.

His uniform and rifle gave away that he belonged to the Russians though he appeared to be somewhat hostile, his aim focused on the vehicle or even herself. She grew anxious seeing his reaction towards her presence, but the way he was walking didn't quite match that anxiety. Perhaps she was supposed to end up here, it all just being part of the plan.

She didn't desire to get shot though and watched him thoroughly from the inside of the truck, not moving, hoping there wouldn't be any reason for him to open fire upon the vehicle.

The soldier moved toward the driver's side of the vehicle as to not be blinded by the headlights, the rifle aimed in her general direction as he approached. He was calling out something in Russian as he approached then switched over to a broken German dialect when he witnessed no response, perhaps deeming that he was not understood rather than being ignored.

Quickly it seemed that she could see another jeep speeding along the road from the opposite direction near the town itself, reinforcements?

The soldiers German was bad but understandable. It was heavily accented too. "Pull the truck to the side of the road and get out unless you wish to be sh-" he finally got a look at the driver, and as he looked at her his brow furrowed in confusion, he obviously not expecting her seeing that the truck was German make and used by the government he perhaps thought that he would find a German soldier in it.

His tone softened just a little. "Get out of the vehicle after pulling it to the shoulder of the road."

The young woman did like she was told before taking off and pulling over. "This can't be good, not at all. Perhaps I've already gone too far ..", she thought, her eyes darting to another jeep approaching their position. Once she slowed down near the side of the road she took a deep breath and braced herself for the worst. It was then the engine died down, she left the keys and anything else as it was, simply following the order she was given.

Ryu glanced outside to check if his gun was still pointing at her, then pushed the door open with little effort and slid off the chair onto the road. It would have felt uncomfortable, barefoot as she was, but she had been like this for so long she could barely tell the difference. However out in the open like she was now she slammed the door shut, ready to put her hands in the air if asked or ordered to. It almost appeared to be the same as in the camp, at least for now, act friendly and do what the men with the firearms tell you.

The soldier was still covering her with his rifle as she slid out of the truck though he said nothing until four other soldiers approached addressing the four in Russian. Two checked the truck for any other passengers she assumed checking the back while a third went through the front to see what was inside or perhaps he half expected someone else to be crouched down there. The fourth soldier moved up beside the initial soldier and the two conversed in Russian.

The guy checking out the cab of the truck said something which was repeated by another soldier at the back of the truck before the initial soldier lowered his weapon.

"Who are you? I don't suppose you have any papers on you?" The soldier began as the others began mulling about this area of the truck, one lit up a cigaretter before another cursed at him for doing so and he reluctantly put it out. Some of the others had their attention focused towards the woods in the direction of distant gunfire.

"I-I don't actually. I've been transfered to a few camps like the one up the road and I assume they wouldn't keep them, probably burned when I first arrived." Almost cut off by the soldiers as they more or less argued about the cigarette, she glanced in their direction to catch more of a glimpse of what they were doing. Ryu could tell they certainly didn't expect a prisoner out here this close to the front, a few of them distracted by the unmistakable noises of gunfire.

She turned back to the soldier who had been here first, answering the questions truthfully. These men weren't here to harm her and it was only for the better if she behaved well.
"If you require a name then call me Ivanna, I'm an escapee and due to a little help with getting this truck somewhere convenient I eventually ended up here."

"A prisoner?" The initial soldier repeated to himself as he fell into thought for a moment, his eyes swept up and down her figure as if varyifying what she just relaid to him and that this wasn't some sort of trick focusing on the matter at hand rather then the distant gunfire or worrying about a lit cigarette being a beacon for snipers.

Then at last he broke the momentary silence. "A prisoner camp this close? Von Burren's? I'll have to call this in. Sergi?"

"Dah?"

"Take Ivanna back to the camp with you, see to her needs and debrief her."

The soldier snapped off a salute and fell to her side to escort her as he and the other soldiers drifted back to the jeep.

Ryu immediately thought he would be calling on her bluff although there was none. Armed men all around, of course some would be suspicious, but it turned out they simply didn't know there was a prisoner camp nearby. The soldier appeared to realize who led it though, leaving her almost speechless while she nodded in response.

"Huh, debrief? Why's that?", she managed before Sergi fell to her side. Thinking she would be out of trouble they intended to keep her around instead, from what she understood she was going back to a camp which belonged to the russians. There might only be soldiers, but when she heard the name Sergi she knew she was about right here, not to mention she had nowhere else to go.

"Yes, debrief," the soldier repeated. "We need to know what is going on in this region and you might have unique experiences that can help out to that end."

The heep was a bit cramped with two soldiers in front and one to either side of her in the back. It took little time before the jeep was back in the town, the soldiers disembarking and splitting up, three of which went elsewhere while she was left with Sergi who escorted her into one of the homes where she witnessed a woman and her husband inside.

Sergi glanced at her. "Do you want anything? Food? Clothing?"

"I've had something to eat not long ago so I'm fine, thanks." There were two other people with them, they didn't seem to be bothered by their presence though she guessed not many would tell soldiers, whichever side they belong to, to leave their homes.

Ryu wasn't going to discuss matters with Sergi yet, she wanted to wait until the debrief began. These people may be the owners of this home, but that didn't mean she trusted them. She then thought about the clothing part. "Although I don't want to be a burden .. a pair of shoes would be great."

"Shoes?" He nodded towards the woman who departed at once.

"My brother, Ivan," he introduced the man who greeted her with a handshake. "And that was his wife, Eva."

"You are from the camp, yes?" Ivan asked as he studied her for a moment, then at Sergi who nodded in response. "Ivanna."

"Ivanna, a pleasure."

Sergi gestured them to a room where they were interupted a short time later as Eva knocked then entered with the shoes. When she had departed once again Sergi turned his attention back to her. "Now, begin from the beginning, what exactly transpired?"

She thanked Eva for the shoes before being left alone with Sergi, putting the pair on she did her best to answer him. "First of, it's true that it's Von Burren's camp. A few days back I was examined by him, but I'd say rather experimented with the past days. Tomorrow was supposed to be another test .."

Ryu eyed the pair for a moment, they weren't perfect but it felt a whole lot better than before. Her gaze then went back to the soldier before her. "I was injected with a serum he's working on, something that 'blocks responses to the brain killing pain', as he says .. and it worked. He cut me with a bonesaw and I barely felt it. He shot me in the head and yet I'm here, woke up mere minutes after the incident. You may ask more questions but I think these facts are most valuable to you. As insane as it may sound, it's the truth."

Making a few steps around the room she was lost in thought when she toyed with the idea of simpy asking him if he knew her savior. There would still be time, she thought, for her it went according to plan, she just had to be patient and wait.

He nodded then took the walkie talkie off of his belt and spoke something into it in Russian to which someone answered in turn, he said something again then switched it off. "We have been aware that he was experimenting on this research from other capture facilities but he has always eluded capture. Chances are we missed him again but perhaps he did not have time to grab all of his research notes, his notes in the past proved quiet efficient to us."

Sergi thought for a second. "You say that he shot you to little effect?" He regarded her for a moment looking at her head for signs of a wound there but obviously did not have one.

"We have to move on this information. If he prefects his serum it could be disasterous but you said you lost consciousness when he shot you? If so then the serum still needs to be refined before it's ready for large scale use."

"That is correct. He wasn't giving the impression that he expected me to recover from the fatal wound so the research is prosperous but must still be in progress."

"I'm certain you'll find him for I was told he wasn't quite willing to leave since his research turned out so well." Ryu was trying to trigger a certain response, making him wonder who would possibly tell a prisoner like her such details. Franz knew his name, so she prepared for any strange reaction towards these words.

She quickly added a few more details to her report, attempting to partially disguise what she just said as if it didn't mean much. "Sadly I couldn't gather any information regarding the duration of the serum's effects, though when he shot me an entire day had passed since the initial injection. I wasn't given another and as I said he wanted to run more tests the next day, so two days must be the absolute minimum .. in my case."

He rubbed his chin with a hand as he thought over what she had to tell him. "Von Burren has been quiet elusive. We keep tracking him down, hot on his heels so to speak and he always seems to slip through our fingers, it's like trying to grasp smoke with your bare hands. Perhaps we're finally closing in on him if your assumptions hold true."

Sergi thought for a quick second. "The prison and camp you were at has fallen already, there were not enough defenders to hold it against our onslaught so we will be able to go over any notes left behind and see if our good doctor is among the captives there. Hopeful he is but he is running out of places to hide.

"Now, about your escape and how you came to be here. How did you manage that?"
