Kirsty raised an eyebrow as the creature had two belts and was looking over the pad and smiled.

"Is uh something wrong?" She asked calmly crossing her arms.

It shook it's head letting out a series of whirling clicks before uttering a single word that she managed to catch. "Maps ..." it held up one hand and two of it's fingers.

"A Map...?" Kirsty wondered stroking her chin glancing at her ship and walked inside and got the Pyramid out holding it in her hands as she walked out.

When she repeated the word map he nodded though assumed that she wasn't interested as she walked away and thus when she came back out of the ship he wasn't there. Not where she had left it anyway though it was seeming to hit up some other non natives for a purchase it seemed as it was going through the same spiel as it had with her.

The pyramid was cool to the touch and not reacting at all as it had before by emitting it's green light.

Kirsty sighed.

"Shame wanted to ask him if he knew about this thing," She said putting the item in a pouch on her suit and began walking locking her ship up.

The people that the crommite had been talking to shook their heads and continued on as Kirsty locked up the ship. Since there were few non natives her the crommite wandered to a nearby fence where it hoped up onto a fence and waited for other ships to come in.

Come to think of it, it would be odd for it to be selling maps unless there was something she didn't know since there wasn't likely to be many non natives here.

Kirsty followed the Insect creature calmly curious what it was doing as she followed looking around also for any sign of her target.

"Hmm not a bad place," She said to herself.

A series of clicks as the crommite turned it's head to face her. "No, not bad at all. Busy, busy," it glanced to the stalls then back at her. More clicks then "many come and go, many."

"Yeah I can see that, by the way sorry I left ya, but I was getting this little... artefact I found awhile back," She said showing him the Pyramid.

He looked at the pyramid then let out a series of clicks which she heard a second later as him asking to see it before he took it into his hands, first turning it over again and again then focusing for long periods on each face as if he were actually reading the inscriptions there.

Clicks then "very old, very old a few societies used these thousands of years back. They are summoning devices, they open gateways, wormholes between it and the nearest creature attuned to it, in this case whatever DNA is stored in it. Usually tissue is chrogenetically frozen and placed inside it. Of course such devices only operate in a select few locations where it can be plugged into an energy source strong enough to open the rift and power the device, the power requirements are astronomical."

"Thanks, I was curious about the thing, I had found on some old ruins, it was glowing green while in there, which was weird like it was telling me something," She said knowing it reacted to the right ruins.

"But anyway, thanks for the help," She said.

More clicks. "Yes, it reacts near the power sources that power it. Such devices are dangerous though if you do not know what comes through the doorway, just the nearest creature of that type and you have no control over it so things can be out of hand fairly quick. Of course it could be attuned to a more common species but that's hardly the case as it is usually used in conjuncture with rarer species."

"Thank you, I'll keep this safe," She said gently taking the item back and putting it away before glancing around.

Now where is this Laurence guy... Was her inner thoughts as she glanced around.

The crommite gave the pyramid back without any complaints though as she began to look around he regarded her for a moment longer. Clicks issued from it as it's mandibles clacked together. "Looking for someone?"

"Yeah I heard that someone named Laurence or something was here," Kirsty said glancing around.

"You know him?" Kirsty asked.
