Melanie rolls her eyes as the monster only manages to hit him self with the balls. Sure, the basketballs were lobbed quite forcefully, but basketballs were only basketballs- all it took to diverge the path of a flying ball was the appropriate resistance. And the ball that Melanie held in her hand adequately fit the bill.

"Ok, look, I'm just going to off on a limb and ask- have you ever done this before?"

Growling in frustration as the balls are easily deflected by the one in her hands, Slimer begins approaching.

I swear I have, I'm usually good at the whole catching, sliming, raping thing. You believe me don't you? Look lets start over, why don't you put the ball down stop running and we can do this whole thing right?

Slimer walks closer a pleading look in his eyes...

"Well, all things considered...I'm going to have to deny that request. Now, either you let me out of here, or I will start hitting with the ball again."
Melanie was anything BUT stupid.
Fortunately for her, the same could not be said about the monster currently threatening her.

Slimer cringes as she mentions the ball, and flashbacks of objects flying at his face at full speed fill his head. Deciding caution is in order he starts coming towards the student. Stopping to retrieve a basketball he holds it clutched tightly before his face, eves barely poking out over the top. Thinking of a genious idea he slips invisible ahain, which might have worked, except for the floating basketball aproaching her...

Melanie rolled her eyes, and kicked the ball straight into the face of the creature.
"Seriously. Let me out. I'm actually somewhat concerned that you could actually be permanently injured by all these balls."

As he recovered from yet another strike of a ball to the head, he kept flickering in and out of sight, as he struggled to maintain his grasp on reality. Before the night was through he was determined that it would be his balls bouncing off her face. Realizing he needed a different approach he began rolling the balls to the far opposite corner of the gym before turning to face her again.

Now that you have no more projectiles lets see how you fair? he says approaching again.

"Well, let's see... I could always scream for help... or I could just..." Melanie's foot swiftly and quickly launched an offensive the likes of which the addled creature would not have seen coming. As his body flickered in and out of sight, Melanie had been careful to note her distance, using each kick to approach the monster just a bit more. Clearly, it had no idea what she was thinking of, despite how foolhardy and amateurish it seemed. All she needed to do was see him five times to learn his position and movement patterns.

He didn't even move. It was THAT easy.

The kick was aimed at the area where his face last appeared. Or at least, Melanie gauged it to be.

Slimer stared in amusement as she began kicking the space before her as he neared. She certainly was strange, he wondered why she was doing it and simply walked around the side of her and watched as she continued kicking. He gave himself away when he broke out in laughter at the strange sight.
