I know that this isn't the most appropriate place to ask for help, given that this IS a tentacle board, but I need help. My friend is in a shitty situation, stuck with her violent parents. She's found herself to be ugly, worthless, and horrible.
Tonight, before I wrote this, she threatened to kill herself.
I know what's going on over where she's at, and I want so very much to just drive over there with my baseball bat and kidnap her. Beat the fucking shit out of her dad, and do some other damage too, possibly.

I'm not going to do that, but I'm at my wit's end. I can't protect her, and I can't stand the idea of losing her. She's very important to me, and I shake with rage every time I see a new mark on her that I didn't put there during sexytime. I cry every time she gets hurt by that monster, and I'm just so scared of losing her that I can't leave her.

I'm sorry for dumping this after my absence, I've just... I don't have anywhere else to talk about this, so I came here first. Any advice or kind words would be met with much love...

This sorta thing, supporting your friend should be the first priority, naturally. No snapping or beating people in with bats, neither. That is my job, y'know?

Instead, if you really need to do something, let her live with you, could be an option. Plus, more opportunity for sexy time? Apart from that, and I must really stress this, go through legal channels instead of taking things into your own hand. As unfortunate as it is, the law is not on the side of the righteous, only on the side of the lawmakers.

Helping her in your own way is noble and all, but far from smart if it leads to her parents mangling you with lawyers and all.

Perhaps she could be persuaded to file a complaint with the authorities, get away from her abusive environment?

I wish. I'd have to be the one to file the complaint, but she would hate me forever. In the end though, I guess it's worth that if she's able to live and be happy.

-shrugs- Simply a matter of her health or not being hated. Justice seldom come without sacrifice and pain, unfortunately. I know that all too well myself. Though, she might eventually understand and forgive you for it if she doesn't take it well.

On the other hand, she might hate you for a long time. -sigh- This is bringing up some memories that are killing my self-imposed happiness...

It would need a lot more information to give you any advice, like her age, your age, the country you live in, what sort of violence is involved and so on.

I am truly sorry for you and your friend. It is terrible to see someone hurt, and to have one's hands tied when trying to help.

If you live in the UK, there is a number here:http://www.samaritans.org/ I do not know much about either of these services, but maybe they can help, or at least direct you to someone who can. I also think wikipedia has a list of suicide hotlines, but I could not find it.

It sounds like you need someone close to you, that you trust, that you can talk to...ask advice from. Parents, perhaps, or a teacher...when I was in college there was a student counseling service that really helped me out. (Of course, my problems were less criminal, more personal...)

The situation has been resolved, and I now am hated by her. I know that her life is worth the pain.

So here I am, one less friend, and one more good deed. Fuck karma.
