"Perhaps, they have nothing that this ship needs to worry about, however."

She felt his eyes on her as she made her way off joining with a group of varied aliens at one of the airlocks. Soon she felt a little tremble in the deck of the ship as the two connected, a bridge between the two ships had been extended and a moment later the airlocked door was opened revealing a tunnel and the door of the other ship, the aliens all to eager to rush down it, found that the door was locked and had to use explosive charges on it.

As soon as people entered though the crew of the other ship or rather whomever had been assembled here began to open fire at the aliens, catching some as they entered and pinning others in the tunnel that connected the two ships.

Kirsty stayed hidden behind the tunnel for now and prepared to toss one grenade over the aliens head towards the other ships crew hoping it caused some kind of disruption.

There was just laser fire coming from the other vessel at this stage but plenty of it coming from the left, some from the right but to the left they either had a machine gun of sorts or plenty of men, she had not looked so she had no way of knowing this she prepped one of her grenades from the relative safety of the tunnel connecting the two ships.

"When in doubt don't go right," Kirsty joked as she pressed the button on the grenade that began a timer as she tossed it at the left side hallway quickly jumping back into the tunnel for cover prepping her rifle.

She jumped back in time to avoid a few shots that came close pegging the edges of the tunnel but the grenade was one it's way, exploding violently and giving a rise to a sea of cries. At least one being was still groaning but there was far less fire power coming from that side now as it trickled down to a virtual stop. Either she took out several targets or the gun emplacement set up there.

"Now," Rex snarled, pirates rushing into the tunnel, some breaking left, others right as they fired and scrambled towards cover, he joining them.

"Here take these," Kirsty said handing Rex two grenades she had, "Make them count," She said going with the other group Rex wasn't with so they had grenades for both groups running forward firing rifle at them as she hid behind cover

"Thanks," Rex said as he took up the grenades. As she entered into the other ship she could see the twisted wreckage of a machine gun and a few bodies near it. Other men had been ducked around cover firing at them, dressed in khaki military garb, blast helmets and visors that covered their eyes and nose. They wore green armor that covered their torsos only leaving their limbs vulnerable though their uniforms were quite thick.

They had were armed with rifles and to the best of her knowledge she counted only four on this side, at least that many on the other but they had no gun there as best as she could tell since the initial firing from there wasn't as strong.

Kirsty fired bullets rapidly towards the army men stopping her group from advancing keeping her grenades back for now as she shoots at the arms of them.

She prepped her rifle as the fighting continued, some pirates falling, as well as military men but the odds were with them seeing that there were far more pirates. Reinforcements for the militants did arrive to swing the odds a little. They were better trained and so a few number of them could hold out against a greater number of opponents.

When Kristy joined in with her rifle and grenades assisted in making shorter work of the opposite the matter taking a few minutes rather than 10 or fifteen, in the end the last of the militants went down leaving the pirates with a foot hold into the ship.

Kirsty smiles and taps a comm for Kain to inform him.

"We got a foothold in the ship Kain, moving in deeper now," Kirsty said as she began moving forward moving behind cover as she did wanting to stay out of sight from military defenses

"Excellent," he returned. "Make your way to the cargo bay, I'll lead a team there personally, expect a degree of trouble their they may have set up the majority of their defenses to repel attackers there and only placed token resistance here."

"Yeah good point, cargo bays are bigger they could put bigger defenses up," Kirsty said leading her group through the hallways to the cargo bay keeping her weapons at the ready her rifle, two pistols and grenades.

There were a higher concentration of defenders here, plus they fought tougher too defending the cargo with their lives. They were spread out as well so grenades were less effective and since they had to worry about puncturing a hole in the hull less here tossing a few grenades was a likelihood for them as they slung them weapon emplacements opened up as well as droid automotons that assisted in their defense.

Kirsty moved to a defense position and tossed one grenade at some of the droids firing her gun at any nearby men shooting bullets at them rapidly as she tried to take down as many as she could while ducking under her cover.

The droids were compartible to the pirates in skill, they weren't exceptional or anything but with the soldiers and gun emplacements they served to be a force on there own, plus since they weren't organic the soldiers had to restraints in ordering them forward taking risks that they need not.

The grenades were used well in taking out gun emplacements and her shots hit the droids that were up front and more exposed then the soldiers but it seemed that the soldiers here with the aid of the droids were far better in holding their own keeping the pirates at bay at least for now.
