The shields were only effective against energy attacks so physical matter could pass through without hindrance. She imagined that they would have some degree of partical shielding to repulse micro asteroids and space dust least the hull be shreaded to all hell.

So if Hassan was able to drug the crew then only those on active duty might not have been hindered i.e the flight crew. They were doing their best though clearly that was not good enough as the Cosnos unimposed moved into position.

At such close ranges only the point defense weapons had any chance of striking though most of those were silent, evidentlly there were not too many gunners on hand.

On her ship, the elites that she had did a final inspection of their weapons and another made a quick look over his tools that he would need once they were docked to cut their way into the ship.

Fortunately for the pirates the shields seemed to be only designed to stop energy attacks. That meant that at least the more primitive weapons of the Cosmo Eagle would be able to get through which was all that Rei needed.

The crew still how were resisting, a clear sign that Hassan had not been able to drug all though the crew. Though the point defense weapons seem to be firing, most of the guns were silent; so it was hard for the platinum blonde pirate to figure out if Hassan had managed to drug at least some of the crew.

Still both the Cosnos and the Cosmo Eagle were able to move into position with out any difficulty. All ready the pirates on board her vessel the was checking their weapons and checking their cutting tools as the were preparing to cut into the vessel. Rei took a moment as she positioned herself, making sure that she didn't dock until the other pirate ship had started to ensure that her pirates would have the best chance of boarding successfully.

As she docked the point defense weapons could not target her ship or perhaps they were busy - had the other ship already begun unloading pirates? Did they already cut through the hull or did Hassan let them board?

In any event the pirates on her side of the ship where able to cut in through the air locks and took little fire in this portion of the vessel. Two pirates secured the room and stayed here while the others swept through the ship heading towards their objective. So far so good, things seemed very manageable thus far though she could hear the discharge of blasters and other weapons from the opposite side of the ship so were most of the defenders over there? It sure sounded like it though as a door was opened and a pirate darted inside he was shot, a storm of gun fire broke out from a darkened room up ahead there were several defenders firing at the open doorway.

As Rei docked her ship with the target she noticed that none of the point defense guns were not pointed at her Cosmo Eagle. She was worried that the ship would be a sitting duck, but here the guns remained silent. It was a good sign that the plan was working at least as far as she could tell.

Immediately the pirates on her Cosmo Eagle began cutting through the air locks and moved quickly to open the locks to the prize. Quickly the pirate team was able to make their way into the room and secure it quickly from the crew on this side of the ship. It still sounded like the there was lots of weapons fire from the other side of ship, right according to plan. Everything seemed to be going well and the platnium blonde could see there was gunfire in the room up ahead. Okay, we are going to move up and catch them in a crossfire, they won't know what hit them.

A slight delay with that since they had to deal with the defenders in the darkened room first but that shouldn't take them so long. As they were in the midst of doing that, however, they could hear blaster fire from behind them as the two individuals that they left there were attacked.

She could here foot steps behind her and quickly heard the movement of others as they approached her group catching them in a pinscer attack. It was a trap! Or so it seemed. A large group was behind them shooting at the rear of the group while the other group continued firing at the front of it.
e though It was only then that she realized that there could have been more defenders in that initial room then they thought since they were unable to see inside and only caught glimpses of defenders when they fired, it was clear that only a few of them had opened up iniatally to gain the confidence of the pirates it seemed while the other group moved into position.

Had they gone to the rear of the ship first it probably would have been this group that moved against them once they heard nearby combat though it was clear that these men were held off in reserve from the main fighting she heard now. And there were far more than 4 guys behind her, at least 4 times as many and a yet undetermined number in front of them.

There numbers were quickly dwindling since there was little to no cover behind them from the second group.

Then the guns fell silent for a moment. An officers voice ringing out to the survivors.

"Surrender or fight to the last, it makes no difference to me though by now it should be clear that you're out matched."

For a moment it seemed that everything was going perfectly for the pirates as they moved into the darkened room. It was going to take a bit to find the guards inside the room but once they were done they would be able to move on to take the rest of the ship. It was then that the two pirates they had left behind came under fire.

Rei turned to look behind her to find that a large group of guards had quickly dispatched the two men and had moved behind her team and were firing. Where did they come from? The tan skinned pirate did her best to redirect some of her men to deal with the new threat.

However, this only embolden the defenders that were trapped in the room, and more of them began firing. It quickly became clear to Rei and the other pirates that were alot more defenders than they had thought. It was only the pirates initial rush that had made them timidly take cover from the assault.

Rei quickly did a count of the men she faced even as they had her caught in a crossfire. The guards behind her quickly numbered to be at least more than ten. And there were definitely more than two guards in front of her. That didn't make any sense as she had been told there was not suppose to be more than a dozen guards here.

Of course that meant little to the guards that were gunning down the pirates around her.

It was then that an officer ordered the survivors to surrender, the platinum blonde looked around and saw she had no where to run. Slowly she dropped her pistol and held up her hands, Alright don't shoot! I surrender.

The numbers weren't adding up ... at least 12 here and she could still hear the shooting from the other side of the ship too so their iniatal assements were off the mark.

The pirates around her were dumb founded, no one knew where these other defenders came from and as her weapon clattered to the deck along with several others a rather large officer grin, looked slightly to his left and nodded.

The soldiers with him opened fire gunning down the pirates, well, most of them until she was the only one standing.

"They fought bravely to the bitter end, seize her." The officer commented as if telling his men what to believe. Two soldiers step forward with restraints, turning her around, shoving her against a bulkhead and restraining her with cuffs.

Shortly after that was done the guns fell quiet on the other side of the ship and a communicator on the officer chimed. He opened up a channel and was getting the all clear from the other defenders and that they were know sending boarders into the pirate vessel here.

"Copy. I have a team already sweeping through the other. I've acquired the package, you?"

"Negative, he may be amongst the dead, checking now."

The officer turned his attention back to her then. "So you thought you'd be clever Ms. Yamamoto. Your luck has run out."

Rei did not like that there had to be at least twelve guards on this side of the ship even as there was more fighting occurring on the other side of the ship.

Her fellow pirates were also confused as the more defenders took up position around them. They too dropped their weapons as they surrendered along side the platinum blonde.

It was then that that the soldiers opened fire. Rei closed her eyes and moved her hands to cover her face to protect herself. Soon however the gunfire slowly faded away and the tan-skinned pirated uncovered her face to find that she had not been shot at all. However all the pirates around her had been gunned down in cold blood.

Before she could react the officer ordered two men to seize her. They spun the pirate round and threw her to ground roughly. The poor woman soon found one arm then the other being forcibly pulled behind her as she was handcuffed.

The guns soon fell silent through out the ship, making it sound like the resistance from the pirates had come to an end. Even then the other guards were moving to board her Cosmo Eagle. Ensuring there was no more pirates on the ship.

It was then that the officer mentioned that he had the package, which seemed to refer to her. It was then after learning they had not captured their target on the other team that he turned to Rei. How did you know where were coming?

"Hassan was persuaded to tell us after donating about a liter of blood. He told us about the whole plan. I'm sorry that he could not be here today but perhaps you'll see him later, perhaps not. As you can tell we suspected him for some time and strung him along to the last minute before we mustered the proof that he was in league with pirates.

"He was a bit sloppy with three of the last four ships he had been assigned to be attacked by pirates and walking away from each engagement without a scratch which drew some suspicion so we told him about a juicy cargo when really the only cargo we were carrying were soldiers expecting an attack well before we got a confession out of him.

"If you weren't wanted you'd be just as dead as your friends but at least the company can recoop some money from the damages to this ship and assist in paying restitution for the dead that fell here. Show here to her cell."

Two of the soldiers grabbed her by the arms escorting her throughout the ship to a detention area. She was searched for any concealed weapons with a quick pat down, which was all too friendly then tossed here.

The was a thick blast door that locked her into the tiny room and she had been in it for perhaps 15 minutes before the door slid opened allowing the officer to stride into the room. He grinned at her briefly.

"You can make this easier on yourself, where is the rendez vous point?"

So it was Hassan that had given them up to the guards on the board the ship. The apparently had made it a very bloody interrogation from the way the officer had spoke of it. It has been clear that that they suspected for a long time as being a pirate collaborator and they decided that would check his history.

Here eyes went wide that when she found out that three of the last four ships he had been assigned to had been attacked by pirates. That alone would have drawn suspicion, but to walk away from each encounter without a scratch simply screamed "pirate" to anyone in this company. That how they knew to interrogate him about the pirates.

It seemed that the only reason they had kept Rei alive was that the platnium blonde had quite the bounty on her head from other crimes and the ADD for stealing her Cosmo Eagle in the first place. Quickly two of the guards took her to the detention area. There they took their time to pat down every possible curve of her body as they checked for concealed weapons. They checked her a second and a third time before they finally content. By then the tan-skinned woman knew it really for their enjoyment than trying to find weapons.

She was then thrown into a tiny room that had a thick blast door guaranteed that that she was going anywhere soon. And there she sat trying to figure out a way out the trap she now found herself in. It wasn't long, perhaps 15 minutes or so when the door opened and the officer strode into the room. He asked her where the rendezvous point.

What does it matter to you, you gunned down the rest of the crew. There is no one left to me up with. Or did some of us escape your little trap?

He struck her across the cheek scowling at her prone form as he loomed over the restrained pirate. "I'll be asking the questions here. Answer the fucking question."

Someone must have gotten away some how if he were interested. It wasn't as if they were meeting another contact there after all but was using it as a staging ground more or less if things went bad then they could fall back and rally there, or attempt too.

The officer yanked her up to her feet, slamming her against the wall as he sternly glared at her with heated eyes.

Rei let out a yelp as she hit across the cheek with enough force that was she was knocked down at on the floor. The officer stood over her as he reminded her who was in charge.

That meant that some of the pirates had to managed to escape somehow. Did they take her fighter? Did they take the mothership? She didn't know but there was one way she was going to find out. As much as she wasn't going to like it.

She suddenly was pulled up to her feet and slammed against the wall. He stared into her red eyes with own angry eyes. You haven't looked in the Cosmo Eagle's navigation logs, have you?

"I figured this might be quicker and more entertaining, plus it will save the techies some time."

He responded cooly, he was so close that she could see the cool blue iris' of his eyes flecked with green. He was grinning now.

"Don't worry you'll be reunited with your boyfriend soon enough." It was then that the crackle of his communicator sounded.

"Sir, we found something here."

He answered the comm. "What is it?"

"Some sort of pyramid, the hold was mostly empty but we found it and some other valueables in a secret compartment."

"Take it aboard, have Mathers check it out he's into that sort of stuff." He flicked his gaze back to Rei. "I don't suppose you know what it does or what it's worth, hm?"

My boyfriend? So you did not wipe out the rest of the pirates after all.

The young pirate flinched a little as she was prepared for another slap across her face, she was sure that he was going to hit her again.
However if the grinning officer was going to do that it would have to wait as his communicator crackled to life. It was one the guards, with something about a secret compartment and that contained some sort of pyramid.

A pyramid? I don't know anything about a pyramid. Whose ship did you find that on? The platinum blonde did not know where the pyramid had came come from and she was sure it was on her ship, though it could be possible it was in a secret compartment that she did not know about before she stole it. Still this was a way to get more information.

The blow had not come maybe due to the interuption by com. The officer had relaxed some though he still regarded her cooly. His arms folded across his chest and he had considered hitting her once more, after all he had established that he was asking the questions here.

However, he was a bit curious too about the uncovered device though it did not concern him all that much.

"Oh, yes, your boyfriend. You'll be seeing him soon enough." He refrained of supplying her with information about the pyramid perhaps they found it on her vessel if Eduardo got away it was likely that he did so in his ship after all unless something sneaky occurred.

Whatever happened he did not say he simply left her in her cell where she stayed for the duration of the trip until guards arrived for her seizing her and drawing her out of the cell, out of the ship into a base of sorts.

She had no idea where she was but exchanged one cell for another though there was at least a little grate in the door allowing her to see out when it was opened, or rather guards in. Currently, however, it was closed though within half an hour she guessed it was opened and a pair of eyes glanced in. The door was unlocked, closed then locked behind a tall blond haired guy with spectacles. He was young, perhaps in his early 20's.

"Rei? Hi, I'm Sullivan your defense lawyer."
