Post To Soothe a Lonely Spirit (Open to students)
((OOC: I've decided to try something I have rarely done before with this (semi-)open RP. Any Student is welcome, though please PM me if you feel the need to ask for permission to join.))

Alone in the wood, Tob played. The endless days of dreaming had passed and the ancient spirit had awakened at last. But, though the island teemed with life, Tob found himself apart; A lone creature in a lonely wood. And so, he turned to his pipes for solace, letting his yearning soar with the music as it floated on the breeze, carried toward the Campus.

Alone in the wood, Tob played. He sat on a fallen log, having taken the form of the large hunchback. The shape, both recognizable yet so obviously different, reflected his loneliness, his apartness, his otherness. Those that saw him would surely be repulsed even as they pitied him.

Alone in the wood, Tob played. Notes of sadness and longing shifted amidst promises of pleasures vast. A simple melody with complex subtleties to capture and pull at the hearts of young maidens. To make them want to sing and dance, and moreover to seek the source of such a heartbreaking song. To want to soothe such a tormented soul and revel in the rewards such selflessness would reap.

Alone in the wood, Tob played. His song wafted though the trees seeking receptive ears. It was both a lure and a trap for the young women of the island. But it was also a promise to cherish the time any girl would spend with him. Time that she would enjoy, despite her objections.

Alone in the wood, Tob played . . .

Post Re: To Soothe a Lonely Spirit (Open to students)
It was a nice day out and most students wanted to take advantage of the sun. So Alynia's friends forced her into a bathing suit, and together they made for the sparkling ocean that the campus provided.

While most of the girls immediatly ran for the water, Alynia stayed on the beach. It wasn't that she didn't like being in the water, the only problem was she had to finish this novel for an English assignment, and unfortunately she had quite a way to go.

And so, Alynia lied back on a towel under the shade of a beach umbrella reading. Her friends had made her put on one of those skimpy bikinis she only owned because of her previous career. Sometimes, after a photoshoot Alynia was allowed to keep the clothing she modeled. The white bikini she was wearing barely covered any of her skin. It was very low cut so her breasts practically spilled out of that top. The bottom was very tight, showing of the perfect contours of her bottom. She was never one to try snd show too much skin so Alynia insisted on wearing something ontop too. A very modest matching white dress. It was made of a light flowy fabric and it reached just the back of her knees. Her light blue flip flops lay in he aand beside her.

It was after an hour or so of being buried in her novel, Alynia's ears suddenly perked up. There was a quiet tune whispering to her, a sad empty melody. Alynia looked around the beach for it's source, but it was not here. Obviously the music was coming from the forest behind her. The notes tugged at her heart and she slowly folded the corner of her novel and stood. She couldn't describe the odd sensation the quiet music gave her. The lonley empty notes made her want to sing, dance, and even cry at the same time.

Alynia looked to her friends who were still splashing eachother in the ocean. None of them also heard the slow tune of pipes. She decided she would come back as soon as she discovered the origin of such a spell bounding tune. So, leaving her shoes and book in the sand, she slowly made her way into the forest. Alynka knew that the woods around the school was dangerous, but she couldn't stay away. In the cool emerald tinted shade of the trees, slowly and cautiously, her eyes searched for the mysterious musician

Post Re: To Soothe a Lonely Spirit (Open to students)
((OOC: So long as Tob continues to play, the RP remains 'open.' I plan to have him play for at least another couple of posts to encourage Alynia to dance for him.))

Tob was far from hidden, but he was quite a way into the forest. His song carried unnaturally far on a breeze that moved contrary to prevailing winds. The lonely spirit played, reaching out to the lovely girls of the island. His song was a plea for companionship and comfort; a promise of joyous revelry. The tune was not hard to follow, but it beckoned one ever farther from the 'safety' of the campus.

The trees brought Tob news of Alynia's entry into the wood. Still, he played on. But now his song added a note of welcome. A strain that urged the young woman to enter the deep wood. Nothing bad would befall her. She would find only happiness and pleasure here. Come to me, O beauteous maiden! the tune almost whispered. Let us frolic amidst the trees!

The forest itself provided a smooth and easy path for Alynia (and any that might follow) to tread, free of grasping roots or brush and strewn with soft leaves and flower petals. An extended welcome mat placed over the threshold of Tob's home. Enter and welcome!

At the end of the path, in a sun-dappled glade, Tob sat on the fallen log, a mass of plants in the form of a large hunchback. He would easily be eight feet tall if he could stand up straight, but as it was, he would likely look meet most girls eye-to-eye. A ring of wild flowers bloomed around the spirit, drawn forth from the earth by his mere presence. Their colors were somber, though, matching his loneliness.

She walked cautiously along the trees, her doe like eyes roaming brimming with an insatiable curiosity of being in an entirely different world. Alynia had never truly been in the forest before. Around the school there was always a few rumors floating around of monsters, demons, creatures from beyond. And even though she and her friends liked to joke about such gossip, Alynia was sensible enough to stay away from the so said dangerous woods. Just in case.

But right now, the last thing on Alynia's mind was to turn back. The sound of the crashing waves of the beach were far behind her. Now all she could hear was the soft rustling of the leaves, her quiet footsteps stepping daintily on a bed of leaves a flower petals that felt soft against the soles of her bare feet. And of course she heard that melody, that sweet intoxicating melody that blew in the gentle breeze.

The forest didnt seem dangerous at all, certainly some place so beautiful could not have any dangers hidden within it. As she slowly stepped foward, her soft gentle footsteps completely in time with the music she couldn't help but add in a few twirls causing her white dress to float up slightly. She danced like a nymph through the trees, knowing that no one couldsee her. Alynia could tell up ahead, squinting through the shattered sunlight bleeding the ought be canopy of leaves over head. There was a glade or a meadow perhaps. The music sang louder in her ears as Alynia came closer and closer. She couldn't help but wonder what was it that lay ahead.

As the young woman came closer, Tob's song took on a note of gaiety and anticipation. A visitor at long last! The melody urged her onward: come and dance in the glade; shed your inhibitions and be free!

The flowers around the ancient spirit grew brighter, responding to his shifting emotions. Tob played all the more heartily to welcome his playmate. The grass of the little meadow became a vibrant green carpet; lush and soft so as to offer a cool tickling to bare feet. All the better to dance in!

Tob remained seated in plain sight, letting his song be his first impression that may soothe away potential fears. Though large and obviously inhuman, the spirit's hunchbacked guise should not inspire immediate terror. Indeed, his expression was of nothing but hopeful relief, as welcoming as his song. He had been so lonely . . . but all that would change soon!

The pace of the music was changing. It's beautiful sorrow, morose tone was becoming brighter. Even though Alynia didn't know what this meant, it seemed as if the entire forest was responding. The leaves above seemed to part ways for the sun, a path of light lead her foward. The more light steps she took, the softer the ground seemed to be.

She couldn't help but laugh outloud, all this music was causion her emotions to fluctuate. Alynia was feeling light, as she spun her feet felt like the were dancing on bubbles. In the very back of her mind it felt strange. What was this unnatural music? She didn't understand, but it didn't matter as she glided among the trees.

Suddenly the trees broke into a clearing and Alynia stopped. She was still standing at the very edge of the glade and she glanced upon who.. Or what was there. It was sitting upon a fallen log. A peculiar hunchback of a man who seemed to be carved of wood. Alynia's eyes blinked with curiosity as the music still flowed through her ears. She wasn't sure if she dared to wander any closer.
