Barter? Birch repeated the word, he knew what it meant though he was unused to using such a thing and played with the sound of the word as he spoke it and thought about it. He already had the information now so he wondered where she was going with this.

"Some of the scientists are working on a project, human cloning, trying to create a line of perfect little sex toys." she said, slowly feeling out each word, "They're not perfected, not yet, something about them doesn't appeal to the island's clientele. But, they're close enough that they can be used to feed and grow more creatures like Ortix, so they must have the proper mix of chemicals . . . ya know . . . down there." she shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"They're not students, and they're taught to serve happily. Since they're still imperfect, they're not going to market . . . let me go, and I'll share what I know. Better for you to have a pet than for them to go to waste, right?"

Birch considered what she was saying. At first he had thought that she was implying that he grow his own clone. He did not have the skill set for that. But he considered. This was the first time that he was hearing about a cloning project but he knew that it cost money too, the scientist were always concerned that they were going to go over budget. This was the first time he was hearing about Ortix. Now he doubted that he would receive his own clone, a nice thought but if the clones were subsurvient perhaps he would be able to harvest them on a regular basis. He was hungry now but not ravenous so he was considering it. It was a gamble after all but one that was all to tempting to the Yengeal.

He pondered a second longer then sat up on his kees. He was still holding her forearm but rubbed his cheek.

He stood up, still gripping her arm as he assisted her up. How do we go about this exchange?

Shudders softly as she watches in vane as that hand full of dirt she had chucked at his face get blow away by some unseen thing before him.. not a single ounce of it had gotton threw.

She contunes to say nothing at him as she keeps her hands over the wiast band of her sweat pants.. her fingers working.. looking like they were clentching and unclentching.

Even as he walks up toward her.. she really only one one thing left to try.. perhaps she would regret it.. perhaps she wouldnt. the way her blood was boiling at the moment.. she might overly feel it later anyway. Juniper breathed deeply, letting the air fill her lungs as the Yengeal sank back on his knees. Oh, that air tasted good, even if it made her lungs tingle as they expanded to their full capacity again. With her free hand, she wiped at the anesthetic film that his root-like tongue had left against her skin, flicking her hand to brush the worst of it of and into the grass.

"Don't sully my business with pointless threats." Juniper huffed, sounding a bit irritable as the tree-man rose to his feet and half pulled her up in the process. The other half she had to do for herself, "You'd probably do that anyway." she shook her head. Some people always had to be in control . . . she had no idea what that was like.

"It's a really simple process. You let go of me," she said, turning her hand over in his grip, "Then I tell you what I know. Then you leave, and I figure out if there's anything I can do for blondie." she said, glancing over her shoulder and gritting her teeth. Dammit . . . things were looking desperate over there. She gave her arm a bit of a pull to try and and get Birch to hurry up with his end of things, she wasn't going to try and run, even if she did manage to dodge away from his grasping hands, there was his control of roots, and his ability to use trees as portals. In this environment, she didn't think she could get away from him.

Once (assuming) he let go, she rubbed her arm where he'd been hanging onto her and began going over it.

"You want a project titled "Eve Revisited" . . ." she covered the details in a rush, everything in the file that she'd found on her flash drive around the time her memory started getting unreliable. The name of the project lead, the names of the girls used as genetic templates, the number of clones and their lifespans . . . and, likely most importantly for Birch, the fact that there was an entrance to the subterranean laboratory housed in a great petrified tree. If nothing else, it meant that the Yengeal should be out of her hair and on it's own quest presently.

He was focused on her to the point of not paying attention to Amelia and Birch. He did not hear the moans or screams, nor the ripping of cloth of pleas but he was caught up in his own little contest to follow along.

Gersham had won, he had the blond pinned to the tree and he was about to reap the rewards for his efforts as he casually ran his hand against her, the other creeping down the front of her pants both caking in more of that insidious toxin.

She tried to bit him, he reflexively pulled his fingers from her.

He grabbed her shirt both tugging and taring at the same time, a smile upon his lips.

It is not a threat if you are crossing me. He was taking a gamble here. She could be lying in which case no future meal and no meal now. He still had not let go and nearly changed his mind then considering that this had been some sort of despearte trick on her part or would amount to nothing but the potential rewards out weighed the risks that he was taking as far as he could tell.

He was slow in his thinking though, she tried to pull her arm free, he held on. He may have been young but when you lived hundreds of years there was little need to rush. He considered for a moment, followed her gaze to her friend and the thing that had called him here. He then let her arm go knowing that it would be easy enough to snare her back up if he needed to.

He absorbed the details questioning where the tree was, how to access it and what not. He knew the place. He then asked for any wards not that he had to really be concerned but he covered the bases anyway, just in case before nodding.

Hopefully this information checked out though he still might not be able to do anything with it. He regarded her for a long moment. All these saplings looked alike to him but he was trying to commit this one to memory.

Here size, the color of her roots, the sound of her voice … For your sake ... He stepped back and into one of the trees transporting to his limits then again and again as he jaunted away leaving her standing there alone for the time being.

She erffs softly, she had made the connection with that wedge stoned.. but appearntly it hadnt been wedged enough cause it hadnt even drawn blood. Perhaps.. somehow this creature had thicker skin then it looked... then why had her stone to its forhead had hurt it before.

She grunts softly.. that.. whatever it was in her system was really doing a number on her.. if it wasnt for her.. singlemindedness.. her training so to speak.. she perhaps would have fallen victem to the toxins raging within her system.

Back still held against the tree.. and the unseen forceing still holding her sweatpants legs open.. for some reason he hadnt desided to bind her arms.

She grunts as he suddenly drops down a little lower and slams his shoulder into her chest..further knocking her back into the tree.. the force of the blow.. causeing her to droped that wedge stone.

She whimpers softly shaking her head.. her thigh muscles tenseing as she allmsot quivers with pleasure at this point.. She.. couldnt.. couldnt give up. Even as he reached up to the front neck line of her top.. she reaches around.. and uses the only.. tool she had left.. her pointed nails going right for his eyes.. sence he was so nice enough to make sure his head and shoulders were right against her.

Juniper let a sigh of relief escape her lips as she watched the hulking form of Birch step backwards into the nearest tree, the knots that seemed to serve as his eyes glaring back at her with a stern warning of what awaited if she was tricking him. He didn't really need to say anything, as far as the would-be journalist was concerned, the very nature of this island did enough threatening for both of them. Speaking of threats and the beings who made them, she turned on her heel to better guage how Eve was doing.

Not well, but Juni's estimation. Gersham seemed to have her pressed up against a broad tree with some kind of invisible pressure, legs stretched out to allow him access though it seemed he'd left her control of her upper body. The bastard seemed to like a little fight in his targets, and Eve was definitely giving him everything she was worth, but only half-covered as she was Juniper could see all the signs. The flushed skin, the light tremor to her flesh, whatever the Triclops was doing was turning her on something fierce. Juniper wished she'd had such mental fortitude when she'd been that far gone . . . but that was then, and this was now.

She didn't have much of a plan. Gersham's abilities seemed completely divorced from any kind of physiological origin, so she couldn't hope to anticipate or counter them. His motives weren't the sort that she could exploit either, he didn't seem to doing this out of a need and she hadn't found any evidence of a greater agenda that she could try to twist against him. It was like he'd been made for only one thing, and he reveled in the act alone . . . she shrugged her shoulders, slipping out of her blue vest. At least he seemed preoccupied with his prize.

Juniper wasn't sure that Eve was really capable of moving under her own power anymore, and if she were it wouldn't be with the haste she'd had before. Still, she couldn't do anything so long as she was pinned against that tree. Juniper folded her vest once in her hands and took soft steps towards the pair of them, trying to maintain an element of surprised. Eve seemed to have the same idea that Juniper herself had had, though her methods were different. Would he be able to maintain his telekintentic grip over something that he couldn't see? Juniper hoped not. She flipped the vest over and folded it again, working the cloth into a kind of slipknot as she arranged it into a loop.

Once she was in range, Juniper jumped forward and tried to pull the cloth over Gersham's face, hopefully blinding him. She didn't doubt that he was stronger than her, monstrously so, so she didn't cling to him. Instead she pulled hard on the knot to try and cinch it tight before letting go. With any luck, Eve would sag forward and Juniper would try to goad her into running once again. She didn't favor her odds with this thing, promise of protection from Aegir or not.

Eve could only get one hand to bare on Gersham's face at the moment. Reaching up with her hand and trying to dig her nails into his eyes. He moved though not remaining still enough to find the mark as his head moved aside. Her nails dug into the warm flesh tough, scratches forming there as he snatched the wrist of her hand flooding even more of that aphrodisiac through her as he chuckled.

He grinned at her seeing all the tell tale signs of her arousal. He kept her arms free for the soul reason that he liked his victims to struggle a little. Unfortunately the telekinesis held even without his sight though instead of struggle against Amelia he simply Shadow Stepped away from the tree and into the show of another.

His central eye swollen shut, blood trickling down one side of his face as the telekinesis drops. He smirks a little unsure of how she did it he simply excepted it as it was as he clenched the first of his left hand and shadowy bars jutted out of the ground, a topless cage of sorts. Now that Amelia was closer together with Eve it worked better this way.

Oops … looks like you just blundered Amelia. There are so many aphrodisiacs running through Eve right now that this will shape up rather nicely. I regret that I cannot be your opponent but I'm willing to bet that Eve's will is eroding, soon she will attack you at my command. She will do anything to receive pleasure. Anything. Her blood was still boiling.. now.. she had no target to keep her.. mind centered.. nothing to contune to attack.. nothing to distract her... She shudders and lets out a moan. She gasps for breath panting in lust.. unable to help herself.. she Missed the creature steeping out of another tree.. and was suddenly barly aware that she found herself dropping to the ground at the base of the tree.

She had no strengh left.. she had faught as long as there was something to fight within her range.. something to hold her warrior spirit.. her mind to. Now that the creature wasnt within range.. her bodys.. desires were starting to take over now.

She missed the monsters speach for the most part.. the only thing she did know.. that her streght was drained.. she would be hard pressed to stand at the moment..

OPening her eyes from her spot on the ground.. she eyes the lovely juniper so close.. she moans again.. as she reaches forward hopeing to catch the girl distracted.. grabs her about the shoulders and attempts to pull her in for a heated moaning kiss. "Hang on, I've got you." Juniper said, crouching a bit to get under Eve as her legs buckled and wrapping her arms around her to help keep her upright. As the other girl's weight settled against her, June pressed her lips into a concerned frown. She was burning up, her skin flushed, and the way she was panting . . . whatever Gersham had done, she was in desperate straits. Juniper tried to look for a way out, her frown deepening into a grimace as she saw the thick black bars penning the two girls in together. Her eyes trailed up . . . she might be able to climb her way to freedom. She didn't doubt that Gersham could make the cage as tall as he willed, but if she could get to the branches overhead . . . though, that was assuming that she could safely touch the bars. They seemed to be made of the same material as his energy bolts earlier.

"Hmn . . . that's an interesting strategy, it certainly suits a gutless voyeur like yourself. However, Eve barely has the presence of mind to stand, how do you expect her to --mmMPH!?" Juniper had let herself get distracted, it seemed, as Eve's moans had moved from wanting to insistent. Of course, it was hard to ignore her any longer as her arms grabbed her firmly around her shoulders and reeled her in, catching her while her lips were parted and moaning into the kiss.

Juni blinked at first, her heart taking a heavy beat in her chest, worried that she could pick up a contact high from whatever was rolling in Eve's system. After a moment, however, her own arms drew a little tighter and she turned her chin to meet Eve's kiss more fully, pressing her lips back against hers. She didn't want to fight Eve, but she knew that Gersham was right, the monster would be able to goad her into it with pleasure. Gersham gazed between the bars of shadow at the two girls. He wiped at some of the blood on the side of his face and instinctively looked at his hand to see how bloody it was. Not too bad from what he could see. The fluke shot to his central eye smarted the most but he was alright. Gersham grinned as he saw that Eve was caving into the drug and that was what he wanted to see.

She looked fragile in comparison but looks could be deceiving. Eve would serve as his avatar her and magic was a great equalizer against strength but now Gersham began to chant, a black shadowy darkness flowing over him, one that erupted over the surface of Eve's skin.

He seldomly used the necromantic spell but he still knew it. Unlike many others he could not cast it with blinding speed either for it took him a moment to consider it as he made the proper enunciation as he moved so that the tree he was next gave him a degree of cover should Amelia attempt to toss a stone at him. But she was about to be too busy to do that he thought.

When he completed the spell it transferred a portion of his vigor to Eve, revitalizing her depleted energy and strength reserves.

This was about to become interesting, especially with the next few enchantments he would weave. None were spells he knew of in the fly, most of those involved shadows, illusions or both but he was not being threatened by either of them and could afford to spend the time casting them now.
