Aegir was pleased. The Princess was staying or at least temporarily and while he did not expect her to be here all the times scanning the minds of the other Trixians certainly made it easier to locate her while he waited for the tracking device to be complete.

“Good. I was starting to get sick of all the space travel. Perhaps I'll be kept to deal with this project for a little bit. It will keep me grounded at least.”

The doctor looked toward the construction equipment as it dug out frozen earth. Aegir had never set a base on a frozen world, he probably never would but the big machinery fascinated him.

“Yeah, the thermals are what makes it nice and warm in the few settlements we have uncovered thus far. The Yil can say what they want about the Ashen but they are geniuses when it comes to tec. Beyond genius … I wouldn't think that it would be easy to backwards engineer it but it does have some promise as an energy supply in the future too once we can figure it out.”

Aegir had not been worried that his deception would be discovered since he could do much more than practice his illusions as he was doing now. There were other options open to him that he did not use.

He took it all in, the natives, the Trixians, not that he had any designs on being a nuisance though he might have to sneak in from time to time to see the Princess.

When they were faced with the blond Aegir offered her a smile, then looked to Rei. “Alight, doctor, let's go.” Aegir got out of the vehicle following the blond.

Rei took a moment to observe the interaction between the disguised Aegir and handmaiden trying to figure out what how they interacted. She simply would let Aegir take the lead once more as she tried to figure out how the handmaiden operated security.

"Well, I can't say that I understand any of the Ashen technology, their technology is really advanced. I have not really seen anything like it," replied the blonde handmaiden. "But I guess that is why I am handmaiden instead of a scientist."

The woman gestured to the two fake scientists, "Please follow me."

The handmaiden let the pair to a nearby elevator that would take them up to the floor that the princess's temporary room was located.

The elevator opened up into a hallway where there Trixians officials were moving about trying to deliver or send information. At the end of the hallway, sat the room that the scientists and the blonde handmaiden were heading towards.

At the end, a brunette wearing the same uniform moved aside to let the trio pass, normally the handmaiden was paranoid about who saw her Princess. However she had already been given the orders to allow these women pass. All the brunette could do that was observe the two scientists as the entered Her Highness's room.

As soon as they entered the room, they were greeted by the Trixian royal. She looked as regal and beautiful as ever wearing a slightly warmer version of her formal outfit. Grettings. I have been expecting you.

All is going well. I can control their minds if there is any trouble or suspicion though it is always good practice for my illusions. I have made a few errors but nothing that has arisen suspicion so far.

He spoke into Rei's mind alone at the moment.

“The Aschen's technology is very advanced. I have seen nothing like it at all. The Ashen are to us as we are to the Yil it would seem. The Thermals alone look quite complex as they are. It will probably that us a considerable amount of time to work out how they did that one since we have nothing of the sort.”

She is staying on the floor above. He told Rei getting the information directly from the hand maidens mind as they followed the hand maiden into the elevator. He was a bit excited at having an opportunity to see the Princess again, however brief. He had never deliberately looked for her though he did come by her by chance once which promoted him to locate her in the future considering that it would save a ton of time and effort in tracking her down.

She looked as regal as ever, Aegir took not of what they had passed. He was not disguised from her though, he could not touch Octavia's mind so she saw him as he was even as the illusion had been projected to the minds of the other women.

They were not acting peculiar in any fashion indicating that their minds had been touched by the telepath. Mouth tendrils swayed eagerly as he observed her in all of her glory and for a moment he did not bring himself to speak as he simple observed her for a moment.

His thoughts were soon broken as he came back to the present. “Your highness,” Aegir made a bow to her then began.

“As you know I am Doctor Aenis and this is my assistant Doctor Rei. I have made a break through of sorts but request an assignment with the thermals and have a few fresh ideas that should gather results. Doctor Rei is most appropriate to my work and is an adequate replacement for me, she knows what we are attempting at this stage and can follow my work well enough.”

Of course the conversation was meaningless and just for the theatrics of the room of course. It would be too suspicious to clear the room but he was using another portion of his mind to set up a three way communication between himself and the two women.

I found Rei here in a facility that I was called too being held as a prisoner. Things are a bit hectic for her at the moment and I considered this world as a place for her to hide out until they quiet down some. I did not want her exchanging one prison for another.

Nor did I want to oppose you and your people as unlikely as anyone is to come here of all places. The other Trixans have seen us as nothing more than members of their species thus far. Of course it is understandable if you do not wish to take the risks.

Octavia at once recognized Aegir for what he was, her own mind blocking the influence that Aegir had over the rest of the Trixians in the area. It show how easily the alien could move among her people.

For a moment there was an ackward silence as the creature observed the Trixian royal. Unlike the prior times, Her Highness was wearing her formal dress. The pink haired princess was a strapless dress and a jacket that covers her arms and shoulders down to just above the dress leaving a bit of cleavage exposed. Her long hair had been brought up in a gigantic pony tail behind in addition to the twin hair buns that she normally wore.

Aegir bowed to the royal as he seemed to remember what his role was among the Trixians. It was then that he explained why he was there and why he had brought the platinum blonde scientist with him. Even as he spoke he sent spoke into her mind about why he was really there.

I see. Octavia could not project her thoughts nor were psychics able to read her minds so she would have to be respond with her questions. And because their was other Trixians present, the royal decided it would be better to be discrete as she replied. Well Doctor Rei has been an isolated place working on small projects. Does her credentials warrant her being assigned to this important task. Do you think her previous projects will come looking for her expertise?

Pretenses. They were speaking so that the others had no idea what was really going on. The conversation had been easy enough to follow though of course that had been far from the case. See if he could have peered into her mind it would not have mattered if she could send telepathic messages or not as he could monitor her though and send the appropriate responses.

Without that gift though he had to do this by other means.

It was not any more difficult really and Aegir's illusion offered up a friendly smile as he first looked to Rei, then the Princess. He could read Rei and what she had been locked up for. He also considered the response of the company at hand.

Rei wasn't notorious pirate. They would look for her as long as it wasn't costing them too much money. From her memories he could see that they kept her alive for some reason but slaughtered the others … ah, it was to get at another pirate, no then, she was just a stepping stone to another where they would toss all their resources they would not really look for her when the sole purpose in having her was to get to the other pirate.

“They will not be an issue. I would not have considered her for this task if her attention was going to be diverted all the time, your Highness. She has been an important protege and if she does well on this project there will be others of course of more importance so you make out in the end by have multiple individuals to pick and choose from. You already do, your Highness, but not to such levels of expertise.”

Octavia looked over at the woman that Aegir had asked the to keep among her people. The platinum blonde was a bit quite bit like a Trixian and was not one that easily identified as an alien.

I see. Octavia brought up her hand to her chin as she thought about what the fake scientist about the human disguised as a a Trixian. Well I suppose if that she can focus on the tasks at hand and does not have any distractions she can be of great use to us. Octavia held up a hand. However she need to focused on the task at hand, this project cannot tolerate any distractions.

The Trixians nearby did not pay too much attention, there was little reason for them suspect the two scientists were not Trixians. Besides there was way too much to do to on the planet currently.

We could use all the help we could get. I am sure that there is much she can offer to aid our project.

“Of course your Highness,” Aenis bows before her, gazing to Rei. “No distractions, correct? This is a great opportunity that the Princess is kindly bestowing upon you and I would hate to be told that it was squandered while I was off work on other projects for our people.”

Aegir turned back to the pink haired beauty thankful that she was doing this. Odd, most people he could simply control to do as he pleased. He usually didn't though enjoying the challenges of persuasion over dominance.

“I'm sure she can. Though to be honest she's one fine pilot getting us out of that sticky scrap with the pirates. She has her own ship and is pretty good at getting things too so she doesn't just do scientific work either. Also, she has her own ship too so I'm sure she would be useful on supply runs but I'm sure whatever role you assign for her your Highness she will take too, isn't that right doctor?”

Rei felt like she was being put on the spot. The fake Trixian followed Aegir's lead and bowed. No your highness. I will concentrate on the tasks on hand this is a great opportunity to help our people. I am honored to take this role.

The pirate watched as Aegir turned back to the Trixian princess. Rei made a note that she would have to be on her best behavior or she would be sitting in some sort of Trixian jail.

Yes. I am a pretty good pilot and fly almost anything you can put me into it. My ship is designed to carry cargo so it can definitely can support what ever you need. As Aeg...nis said, I am just here to serve and I willing to serve in any role that you assign me. I would just like to help your Highness.

Aegir had been pleased. While he could not read the Princess he could read Rei easily enough. She was being put on the spot here but he had a good relationship with the Princess and did not wish to sully it. But by pointing out those things that she was better at he had hoped to give her a niche that better suited her role while her as well as grant her something where she might be able to earn money for herself on the side.

He was not interested in her swapping one prison for another as she was a source of additional information he was hoping to use in order to track down Minerva. He turned back to Octavia though figuring that Rei would either figure this all out or already knew this for herself.

“I shall leave everything then in good hands,” the good thing was that he already fashioned a gate here back to Shokushu. It was indoors in an out of the way place so it was unlikely that the Trixians discovered if. If they had it would be easy enough to blank minds while he used it to get back “home”.

“I shall check in soon to ensure that all is going well. I have something that I need to give to the doctor tomorrow. Aegir smiled, if all was acceptable then he would be back tomorrow with those things he promised." He was going to show Rei just how serious he was though for the moment he would bid them all ado.
