He had leisurely strolling through the forest, quiet pleased. It had only been two days since his last feedinging so he was in no real urgency to have another though if one came about by happenstance there was no reason to deny it.

It was like that time recently with that sapling that was using those martial arts techniques. He had learned from it though, learned that his own momentum could be used by these saplings for that was not the first time he had been flipped but the second in just as many days.

He had been near the edge of the forest today, which was rather regretful as the trees had thinned out more here but he still had more than enough of them to serve to his advantage.

But seeing that he was not particularly hungry he decided that today he could afford to be a bit more “playful”.

He then makes his appearance stepping through one tree and emerging from another nearby.

Why hello there. And he grinned at her.

It was a class assignment that had drawn her out here on this particular day. Really, she rather be doing something for calculus and not this. She had to find a flower and sketch it, on not native to the campus. Lame. She almost didn't do it, almost, but she wasn't one to throw off assignments for she almost didn't do it, almost, but she wasn't one to blow off assignments for it had not been in her nature …

Then something emerged from a nearby tree and her eyes widen. It wasn't as if she had been overly horrified by the tree-like appearance of the creature but still she could expect what was to come and what that greeting entailed.

“STAY AWAY!”

She burst out as she turned and ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction to put as much distance between herself and it as possible.

The edge of the forest didn't offer much cover for Kakumaoh to hide in, even with his abilities. This particular part of the island wasn't one frequented by students, though; he was simply passing through as he headed towards the campus. He was sure that he'd hear anyone approaching soon enough that he could conceal himself before they noticed him.

“STAY AWAY!”

He hadn't expected to get quite such an obvious sign of someone nearby, though. The voice sounded familiar, too, which was hardly surprising, given his last encounter with the student in question. Even so, he moved behind a boulder as the sounds of a chase approached; she probably wouldn't exactly be thrilled to see him, and he might not want to come into conflict with whatever she was trying to escape.

Soon enough, she came into view. Her pursuer wasn't visible yet, but the mere fact she'd managed to get away so far suggested that whatever she was running from was either toying with her or not particularly fast. Either way, he could probably manage to bluff it, make a deal, or escape it in the worst case. After making that assessment, he stepped out from behind the boulder into full view.

He was indeed toying with her. He hadn't really chased anyone like this for quiet some time so use to going straight in for the kill so to speak. Today though he felt nostalgic. He wasn't as hungry so he had the time to afford to be a little more patient.

So he let her get a little away ahead of him and jaunted fom tree to tree covering vast distances in the blink of an eye. He did so to cut her off, to heard Rhaine from running out of the forest and direct her deeper within it.

Birch probably wasn't going to play with her for much longer though. He hated non forested areas and there were two nearby. One was a small cave that he could get her out of easy enough, the other a clearing of some sort.

It was not unusual that he saw other monsters, usually it was Slarr or Thudd but this was a larger individual, one that the girl seemed to behaving oddly towards. Curious … he came at her still drawing closer to the pair.

She had been panicked of course. This was but the second time she had encountered something in the forest and her heart pounded in her chest as she thought of what she was going to do here. The creature seemed to be capable of phasing through the trees so it was obvious to get into a less forested area though each time she tried he cut her off forcing her into the other direction. Maybe if she found a river or stream, perhaps a cave …

There was a lake she knew about deeper into the forest. Could she use that? It was cold though but she considered her options. He could simply jaunt to the other side of a river but if she stayed in the river … maybe it wouldn't be able to phase. She was a strong swimmer too …

But then she saw him. She wasn't expecting to see the demon and had her hands full with getting away from one of the creatures but if they were working together …

Still she wasn't herded straight into his direction either. Split second to decide. She ran off course but she knew it was over now and she had to make the best decision possible and hoped it would all work out.

She was full of terror, not at being killed but at what this plant thing was going to do.

“MASTER!” She ran straight towards him, plowing into him in an embrace if he had allowed it. She didn't care what the other creature thought or how confused it would be but she had no idea what it was going to do to her and after the slime she did not wish to take her chances with an unknown here.

At least he had let her live. That might not be the case today of course but she felt a little better about it than before. He had to have seen something in her that was at least mildly amusing to keep her around for but was her gamble going to work or was she surrendering herself foolishly? What if he didn't care? What if he let this thing do as it wished then took her or vice versa, took her then discarded her to the plant-thing?

She was fearful about that but it was too late to change her mind and it probably wouldn't do her any good in the situation if she were trying to flee from both of them at the same time.

While he'd expected Rhaine to change direction when she saw him, he hadn't expected her to run straight towards him. As it was, he barely had time to react before she rushed up and embraced him, moving his arms to allow himself to embrace her back. He also duplicated his arms; he had no idea how the tree-creature would react to having its prey taken, so it was best to be ready for anything. It wasn't likely to come to that, though – the administration frowned on battles between the island's guests – but that wouldn't stop some monsters.

He quickly sized up the other creature in case bluffing and bargaining didn't work. If it was as tree-like as it looked, then it would be difficult to damage it enough to discourage it, and if he'd seen how it moved correctly, eluding it would be even harder. On the other hand, it probably wouldn't be able to do much to hurt him, either, especially since it would have to avoid harming Rhaine in the process.

Still, he'd rather avoid a fight if possible. Still holding Rhaine in front of himself, he turned towards the creature and snarled, displaying his teeth. If it wasn't too determined to have its way with her right now or in desperate need to have sex, the implied threat might be enough to drive it off.

Birch was bit confused by the girl. He too expected her to changed direction though he had expected her to go away from either of them not towards. Master? Harvesting students in such away had been reserved for after graduation, not before,

Still he approached seeing that the other creature was possessive in having his prize. He was not crazed with need but still. That was his prize there, he was merely having some fun with her but the other creature growled as he approached. She stopped after a few steps forward assessing the situation.

He so rarely got into a full fledged fight as there was little need today. If he were ravenous he would have pressed in without thinking but Birch assessed the situation here.

She is mine today. Once she has been harvested my interest in here will fade.

Rhaine's heart beat heavily against her chest though she had been beside herself as to what she had done. It was like tossing in the towel. She knew she couldn’t hope to get away from both of them and Birch wad a complete unknown.

She whimpered and pressed close to him trying to squirm to hide behind him but remain in his embrace like a frightened child hiding from danger. She was relieved that the embrace was returned. Glad that her Z”Master” didn't seem to have the desire to share her at all. Still …

That other thing did not retreat completely but it seemed to be reevaluating the situation. But what was it saying about harvesting? Had her decision been for the best? She hoped so but at least she wasn't being raped right now. She got to pick her poison today … maybe … she didn't know how this was going to play out after all though her greatest fear was that they both decided to take her, that would not be good but she took a huge gamble here. Now all she could hope was it paid off.

The tree-thing didn't seem eager to fight, which suited Kakumaoh just fine. He'd prefer not to share, especially since Rhaine seemed to regard him as a better alternative than other guests, but he would if necessary. He thought he saw a way to convince the other to look elsewhere, however.

"She is mine right now, by her own choice," he snarled. "If you have no interest in her beyond that she happened to be there, it would be easier for you to go and find another." Admittedly, his first meeting with Rhaine had come about because she had happened to be there, but he'd have probably gone after a different student if he found himself in a similar situation to the one the tree-monster was in now.

Birch regarded the situation for a moment. How odd it was that the sapling clung to a monster for protection … it was obvious that she had met him before though he had considered that it had been more than once, that he had broken down her will to some degree.

One sapling was as good as the next though he wouldn't shield any of them, well maybe the one that put him onto a free meal and that Meredith one. She hadn't come around again though …

You have one hour. If I have not found someone else by then I will be back. It does not matter who does the work as long as she gets harvested.

He steps back into a tree and is gone to search for other prey. Chances were pretty good that he'd find someone else in that time span with his gifts and wouldn't be back but he left the option open, just in case ...

“Thank you. Master!” Rhaine tightened her embrace though she expected that her Master just wasn’t the type to share and probably wasn't doing this out of any sort of kindness. Then again she could be wrong but she sought to supply questions before he got to making demands that were likely to come, a means of showing initiative at least.

Rhaine was afraid that the thing was going to be back she was uncertain of how all this all worked and really he had been the first being that she interacted with that showed sentience. There was the other demon but he simply delighted in tormenting her with his torture devices so he had yet to take her physically, thankfully.

“How may I serve you Master?” She did not brake the embrace but looked up at him him then.

The other creature left, although warning that he'd be back if he couldn't find another student in an hour. It wasn't likely that he'd be back – between couples slipping off for private trysts and teachers giving assignments that sent students into the forest, it wasn't hard to find a random student – but it didn't matter anyway: by that time, he'd be done with Rhaine.

“How may I serve you Master?”

He grinned down at her and licked his lips quickly. "I think you know the answer to that question." His free hands moved down to begin to undress her.

Indeed she had been one such student that had been sent into the forest for an assignment. Still she did not know how plentiful or not that these matters were as her savior did not exactly say what was expected but implied it.

She nodded at the implication and helps as he begins to undress her partially aware that she could not out run him anyway not that she had the desire to do so, not without paying him back.
