“Mermaid … haven't seen that one yet but I don't go down to the beach more often then I need to these days.” Etolie thinks on the matter a bit.

“Yeah, I had one. One of these things showed up and I was forced to leave it behind to make my escape. Thankfully I managed it. And it's not like you can get easy replacements for them here. I did make Otis, a wooden dildo but it doesn't match up to Mr. Happy.”

She chuckles a little then looks at Rose. “You know, human or not I bet she didn't have the touch of a noble.”

"I wouldn't know. She's the only one I've ever been with." Rosalie said shrugging. "You wouldn't need to be at the beach. She can grow legs and be on land to find girls she wants to play with."

She either missed her comment or didn't care to comment though if it were her only real experience …

She thinks as she looks out at the ocean, watching the waves crash upon the rocks and sending a spray of white foam into the air.

“That's interesting, an aquatic being that isn't confined to the ocean. It's a good think that all those things aren't so adaptable. Maybe she had legs and grew the tail to fool you into thinking she was a mermaid.”

"Her appearance was only mermaid like...well according to her. She claims to be from some sort of alien race. And since she transformed like that and has power over water, I don't really see how I can deny what she said." Rosalie said as she looks around more. "She also says she doesn't understand why we put so much importance on our virginity, at least not completely. I guess her people don't see being a whore a bad thing."

"Tell me about it. Though this girl was not thrilled when I told her the reasoning for such morals. She seemed to think I was calling her a nympho and a sinner, which technically she is. But considering what she's capable of, I wouldn't intentionally make such insinuations. Anyway, enough about all that. What does your family do that makes it wealthy? I mean, what kind of business is it?"

Immoral? Etolie doesn't think so much as that as she does think that this creature's culture was just different or maybe it wasn't and the mermaid was abnormal when compared to the others. Well, it is not a huge deal to her as she never intends on meeting her.

She considers the question and how to answer it. “Well, you could say that my father is into drugs, pharmaceuticals. He directs one of the biggest companies in France, that was until he was recalled to the U.S to run one of the plants there. There's lots of money in drugs. Do you know how much money the guy who invented Viagra made?”

"Heh, I can only imagine." Rosalie answers giggling a little. "My family has actually become wealthy twice. The first time, well I'm sure you've at least heard of the Vikings. The Nordic people that raided other parts of Europe for plunder and slaves? My family is directly descended from them, and those raids are how my ancestors became rich back then. But once the age of the Vikings ended, they soon became commoners. It was almost 200 years ago that my family came to own one of the largest salt mines in Europe. I know that might not sound impressive, but salt is still a valuable commodity even in this day and age. And though my family eventually immigrated to America, we still retain ownership over that mine. My father is the one that stays there most of the time overlooking the operations."

"It's probably how that weird tradition got started too. My family likely didn't want any outsiders taking advantage of our wealth by stealing their daughters' hearts. So they decided to isolate us girls until we were less susceptible to such influence. That would be my guess anyway. I do know for sure that even when I do come of age, my parents won't let just any man have me. They have to be able to meet our standards, and they're usually tested in some way before any engagement is made official. Doesn't your father have any standards a guy has to meet?"

“No, daddy just wants his little girl to marry. It's not as if he doesn't have conditions that he could add to his will to make it less likely that his money passes to anyone he doesn't approve of.”

She considers for a moment. “He'll tell me if he doesn't approve of someone and I know not to get too serious with someone. I take after him in many ways, I don't tend to be the gushy romantic sort and can usually predict the motives of others well enough.

“I have more than a few suitors though I shunned them and came here to learn enough to be of further assistance to my father. Knowing a bit on business and chemistry helps, well I've always been good at chemistry since I was a little girl.”

"Well maybe you'll show your softer side when you find the right guy...or girl maybe. Only time will tell." Rosalie looks back out at the cliff. By now the sun was setting. If they didn't want to spend the night out there, they'd better get going now. "Perhaps we should start back. It will be dark soon."

“Well, in time I suppose … right now though I'm enjoying the single life too much. Back home I might have been married off by now but I highly doubt that. Daddy just wants his little girl to be happy.”

She sweeps her gaze to Rosalie. She then sweeps her gaze outward as the sun dips beneath the horizon.

“Yeah, I guess we should be heading back unless you want to make out or something.” After discovering that these things were real that these things were out there then there was a real danger being out here after dark.

"Heh, another time perhaps." Rosalie would then start making her way back to the school along with Etolie. "Come to think of it, I don't think I ever got your name."

She shrugs. “Well your loss until then.” She smiles as they head back to the campus. “Etolie Leblanc, I failed to mention it before though I got caught up with satisfy my curiosity in what I had heard.”
