Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
To the blue skinned alien there were always new things to discover, places to see and people to meet. As dangerous as it might've been, it continued to be a feast for the curious mind as they entered yet another part of the city. Once they got off the hectic streets into some sort of residential area it almost seemed pleasant, the reminder of the grim nature of this place slowly fading into a corner of her mind she didn't pay much attention to.

Following along she doesn't even realize that he plans on checking her out when she enters the elevator first. Ania usually moved with both grace and innocent enticement since the suit barely hides any shifting muscles and curves underneath, molding itself perfectly against her body that'd make some if not most slaves back in the store blush in shame. Not like she was interested in putting up a show for anyone. These things weren't the most foremost on her mind, the sole exception being that she wanted to see what his race looked like without helmet and coat, not much in that sense either since he was the first male she'd spent this much time with. It was complicated. The elevator was merely another admirable feat in architecture though unnecessary if one were to possess her abilities, she thought. This notion lingered there for a moment until the machinery started moving downward, somewhat confusing the alien until she realized it was meant to be that way.

They were descending a long way, it seemed. Ania was paying attention when he operated the elevator, interpreting the various buttons which he hadn't pressed as other floors. It would be easy to use if she ever needed to get out, even if he wasn't there to help. "How about we settle for a little sparring first? Nothing like a good fight to strenghten the appetite." For a moment she ponders whether or not to tease him again, but only for a moment. "I'll beat you in time for dinner, then we could go to bed." A brief silence occured then. As if on cue her back straightens as she catches her slip, jutting out her sizeable bust though the suit doesn't allow for it to bounce or sway. "I don't plan on sharing one with you, just to be clear."

When the door finally opened Ania nearly gasped in delight, the colors were surprisingly fresh down here and in contrast to the ones of the city above much more favorable, not to mention she hadn't seen most of them during her journey."If the hallways are anything to go by, your personal chambers must be truly impressive .. I'm honestly intrigued. This isn't anything like the other places we've been to."

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
The little jest Ania threw would have caused Rahs to roll his eyes and hold back a sigh, though it would have been impossible for her to know from her position. It instead made him shoot his gaze at her with what would have been the most surprised reaction that she had ever seen from the mercenary, and the most noticeable she would get with that helm and mask of his. For the duration of the awkward moment that followed, Rahs almost didn't believe what he heard. Not that the picture of bedding such a beautiful alien with the body of a goddess was not enticing for him. He realized her mistake before she did, and instead of saying anything to encourage the notion he waited to see her own reaction. She did not disappoint, since beyond jutting out her splendid bossom, the flush that ran across her was amusing for the syrictae.

Beneath the mask, Rahs let out a wide smile and gave a hearty laugh. "Oh, I was almost getting excited. I hope you fix those slips when you go and tease in your thefts. You could end up in an dangerous situation," or kill them laughing.

"Yes, that's the effect a bright change of scenery can have. I guess you'll like the place because it might be bright colors still but arranged in a better way." The building was meant for its guests to relax, in contrast of the more hostile environment of the surface where hidden knives and false smiles were always around the corner.

Rahs didn't linger in the elevator and soon heard Ania follow him, probably looking all around the hall with her curious eyes. A few turns and many rooms later, he stopped before a door with another light blue panel on the side. His hand came out of the cloak, surrounded in the dark grey vambrace, and the panel scanned it in a similar fashion back with Jinat. The door opened, and Rahs let the female alien enter first, the same bright colors in the hallway now shown on the walls of the apartment but arranged in different manners. Speaking of dangerous situations, what am I getting out of this?" the mercenary thought as his eyes scanned Ania like the panel to his hand, taking in all of her dangerous curves, her large bust and toned butt that practically begged to be touched. He felt a stirring in his crotch that he quickly tried to dismiss. Perhaps there would be an opportunity and time for that later.

"So, better than the hallway, right? Or you can sleep out there, if you don't like it more," Rahs teased her back with a chuckle as he moved past her. The walls had warmer colors while the lights in the ceiling were cooler, bringing a curious balance in the apartment. The entrance led directly to a form of a large lounge, where a table sat in the middle, in front of a screen on the wall with various couches around it. The lounge was in a kind of crater on the floor, the table in the center of it and small stairs to lead in and out of it. Around it, the floor on regular elevation led to other rooms with open doors that rarely were closed. It would ruin the feeling of comfort, according to Rahs. The syrictae eventually gestured Ania to follow him to a more secluded room a bit smaller than the lounge outside and with many weapons hanging on the far wall. "Pick your poison."

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
Although she wanted to protest she had to admit that he'd been right in a sense, thus decided to let the matter drop as she shook her head, blushing slightly though thanks to her skin the embarrassment appeared more as a shade of purple on her cheeks. "I'll do my best."

Admiring the scenery for a bit longer she followed the mercanery to his personal chambers, the curious alien always right behind or beside him. They passed a great many doors until they'd reached the one they were initially headed for at which point Ania wondered just how many members of various races called this their home. The people of her race amassed maybe a few thousands at best, but even in the capital of her home planet they hadn't built such structures since there was simply no need.

The sight of yet another panel that scanned his hand would've startled her if he hadn't helped her out as much as he did, Rahs could essentially lock her out because surely the device didn't work on one of her tentacles, if not lock her in then trap her inside when he decided to leave. She could probably pry the door open knowing that with enough preparation her tendrils could mimic the attributes of nearly any metal though she deemed it unnecessary.

"Sorry to disappoint, but I can say with certainty that I prefer this over the hallway any day." Ania practically lit up at the sight before her. "It's marvelous .." Being locked up in the confines of her ship for so long she loved the ambience, the interesting mix of colors and light combined with a layout she hadn't seen before. She strolled through the room briefly brushing against the edge of a couch while examining the odd crater in the floor. Taking in the pieces of furniture and how they were arranged, she found it to be a rather neat home she wouldn't mind spending the next couple of days, or weeks in. To her it seemed like a palace as she carelessly absorbed it all in one go, seeming like a kid in a candy store before getting a hold of herself. "I'm a big fan of your interior design, not something I would've expected from you. I'm pleasantly surprised.", she managed with some composure before following along to the next room.

A grin spread across her face when she discovered what would happen next. A pair of tentacles went to her waist, unfastening the holster there before cautiously moving it aside whilst another pair placed the helmet she carried back on her head, the braid still hanging out the back though she didn't care much in this friendly banter of theirs. "Don't mind if I do." Naturally she loved to fight of course as her eyes sweeped over the weapons on the wall, though what she selected wasn't anywhere close to brutal or dangerous, it posessed reach while being sturdy which in effect proved perfect for what they had planned. Instead of a blade or club she reached for a staff of sorts, steadily testing its weight with a sole tentacle, balancing it on its tip before grasping it firmly, spinning it a bit just for show. "This'll do nicely, thanks. Perhaps someday I'll fight you with real weapons, just for fun of course."

With a hidden grin she then steps back, facing him in anticipation she wondered if he decided to fight while wearing the cloak which would be a minor disappointment for she truly wanted to know more about his physical make up. "So .. Rahs .. What do you say? First one to get hit in the chest loses? .. Or would you propose something a little different?"

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
It had come naturally to Rahs to arrange his apartment like that. Art was appreciated in his species and though Rahs was no artist, his own fondness of the colors was good enough to impress the female alien. It was interesting to see her so amazed by something that was pretty normal for him now, but he held back a chuckle as he continued his way to the room with the weapons.

The holster that she carried was discarded and she even put on her helmet; Ania seemed very eager about this. She chose a staff, just like Rahs thought she would, and considered the possibility of fighting him with real weapons. Yes, that actually sounded good for the syrictae; in a sparring like that, danger was an entertainment like no other. But for then, they would have to do with blunted weapons. He ended up choosing another staff, swinging it a couple of times but more slowly, not thinking it was necessary to give the same show, he already knew that it was gonna be an interesting fight. "Real weapons sound good. That day will be very fun, it seems."

Rahs thought for a second before replying. "It sounds good for now. Perhaps if we don't take long we can change the rules," but what kind of rules? With one hand holding the staff against the floor, the mercenary's free hand unclasped the pin at the neck of the cloak and threw the garment aside. Beneath, his muscular, toned arms and legs were naked but for the vambraces and greaves he wore on them. His strong torso was covered with a thin armor that seemed more ornamental than beneficial. Indeed it was not his favorite full armor, but it protected him well enough and allowed mobility; the armor he always wore when going around Vanejin while not on a mission. Behind the tall and evidently well-worked body of the syrictae, his tail swung from side to side as if getting excited about the sparring.

Finally, he couldn't help but swing the staff again before getting close enough to touch Ania's weapon as a courtesy before a fight. Immediately after, he got in a fighting stace, feet wide apart and bent knees with the weapon firm but loose enough in his hands and his eyes on her like a bird of prey. "Bring it then, Ania. Let's see who beats who before dinner."

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
Ania nodded in agreement, she figured that simply fighting over who happens to be better at the time was quite entertaining, but it was certainly lacking in excitement when that was the sole point of winning overall. Then again she might've offered something more interesting unless she was merely being cautious. The cloak hid most of his physical features until then and a loss she could've easily avoided was dishonorable.

As much as the thought annoyed her she was pleasantly surprised when he revealed himself to her, most of him anyway since his armor didn't seem to be favorable in actual combat. While she was excited to spar with one of the locals and possibly win, now she was looking forward to every bit of it. Having only fought others of her kind and wild beasts, he was the first male opponent she ever faced and a formidable looking one at that. Surely he'd put up a fight, she thought, eyes embracing the mercenary's muscles as a grin formed behind her helmet.

Molding the four tentacles of an arm into one she grasped the staff firmly, trying to hold back a chuckle when he spoke although she was eager to find out what he was capable of. "Don't worry, this won't take long.", she replied coldly despite her growing excitement, instinctively lowering into a crouch before launching at him at high speed, driven by the immense muscles in her own legs.

The somewhat rushed attack wasn't supposed to hit in the first place, aiming the flat tip of the shaft at his chest it was a mere means of testing his reflexes.

The mercenary rose an eyebrow as he saw her tentacles mold and hold to the staff in ways he seldom saw before. Still, he kept his muscles ready and his feet light to react quickly.

However, her attack, though fast, was quite simple. A simple jab, testing his reflexes. He wasn't disappointed in her caution, but she had given him an opportunity he could not let go that easily. His left hand shot out at lightning speed and grabbed the tip of her staff firmly. His feet spun quickly, and while still holding her staff to try and keep her from attacking, he extended his arm and weapon out in an arc towards her. He didn't had to worry about range, since he held her weapon and he was taller than her, so his attack had more confidence in the execution, heading directly towards her ribcage or arm, depending if she tried to block it at such short distance.

Though her staff had been grasped by his hand she pushed on, thrusting that arm forward while paying little mind to the fact he held onto it. She hoped to throw him off a little since it'd be common to pull back instead of doing the opposite in order to retake control of the weapon. Perhaps even pinning him against a wall was an option if her strength allowed for it, but then again for someone whose adaptable physique allowed them to pry open reinforced steel doors that thought might not be far off.

While that occured she registered the motions of his own staff as her free arm darted up to meet his nearly matching the mercenary's speed, the tentacles took the brunt of the hit though when he struck there it hadn't felt like regular skin. Instead it had been firmer, more durable as Ania worked to manipulate the appendages before he landed that blow, progressively raising their toughness as her body drifted out of harm's way while her limbs pushed the staff aside to prevent him from hitting her chest just yet. At the same time they sought to grasp it much like he did with hers though if she managed to get a hold on it she would try to take it from him rather than stall his next move.

Ah... What an interesting feeling, the mercenary thought as he impacted his staff on the tentacles of Ania's arm. They had looked so soft and fluid, but the reaction they caused on the staff was as if it had struck a wall. He was just trying to make a mental note of it when he noticed she was reaching for his staff, similar to how he had done to hers, and she would have an easier time since he was not as sure footed after she pushed her weapon into him to drive him off balance. Just like she had done, he was giving her a chance that he could feel sorry for later.

It was best to keep it in short bursts for now. He made a quick jump backwards, his hands firm on both weapons if she tried to yank them from him. His own had eluded her, barely... or so he thought. The tendrils managed to grasp the end of the staff, almost falling short, just like his own hand had grabbed hers. Tch. He quickly felt the pull but his hand remained stubborn, denying her possession of his weapon. After the initial pull, however, his arms went loose though his hands remained tight to avoid losing balance if she tried to pull or push him from his center of gravity.

For a full second, they were too close to each other and confronting an opponent that you don't know very well at that distance was dangerous. But the closeness was an advantage for Rahs, since it made her agility a bit less efficient. It was better to act fast, though. His foot rose, aiming his sole to the side of her knee to topple her. However, it was a simple move, easily avoided if she could manage to react in time. The follow-up came, strangely timed to surprise her, after the kick. His left hand let go of her staff, spun around the elbow, moving only his forearm in an arc to hit her chest quickly with the back of his hand while his other arm still grabbed his staff, extending across his torso to protect his own chest.

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
Barely able to grasp his weapon she failed to take it from him and thus decided to simply claim it instead, her tentacles on that arm extending further along its length emcompassing more of the staff though she kept pulling despite her initial failure. Ania quickly raised the knee he was aiming for although if he still managed to hit the other she would have less trouble absorbing the impact. Graciously shifting before him at great speed she placed her leg down beside his, seeking to trap it inbetween hers in midair in order to gain an advantage while even her tail sought to curl about his limb. He'd kept her rather busy there, but she managed to twist her upper body just in time to prevent him from ending their duel, the back of his hand colliding with her side which put her in an odd position at best.

Using the opportunity as it revealed itself she tried taking a jab at him which she'd planned on doing from the start, the tip darting for his chest once again. Rahs had tried to protect himself from a potential blow as he let go of her staff to surprise her, so she tugged on his with all her might to keep that opening just long enough. Even if she didn't manage to win right then, she had her tentacles climb up the polearm in his hand, slowly getting closer to his chest regardless of what he did so it was only a matter of time, she thought.

Naturally his free hand was a double edged sword allowing her that single attempt to strike, but at the same time she managed to keep it at bay solely with the way she was positioned. Her mind worked on a solution to that problem although thus far she hadn't taken any action against it.

(sorry for late reply, got busy with a summer course. That's what I get for doing it, huh? :P )

"Hmph." For a moment, Rahs couldn't believe that his quick jab with his left hand had missed, it was a clear hit for him but it seemed that his sparring partner managed to move her torso quicker. She immediately tried to get the chance, her other hand with the staff moving in to strike him.

With the rush of the fight, the mercenary managed to notice that her tentacles were now climbing up his arm, having managed to claim the staff in a moment as her own weapon moved towards him. It was a quick move and he could see it would hit the arm that was in the way, but it was the tendrils on his arm that worried him. He had to react quickly, or else he would lose to this confident female alien that he just spent the day with showing her Vanejin and the ways of it.

His right arm, covered in tendrils, moved upwards to block her jab and deflect it up and render it useless for a second, or as long as she could pull it back to her control, and did so with such strength that tried to yank her shoulders around to expose once again her chest. It was in this instant that Rahs released an electric current throughout his body, mainly his arms, to shock and paralyze Ania for a few moments. He didn't know how strong was Ania against this attack, but considering her armor was seemingly made of metal, it would actually help him get the shock across and fortunately stun her long enough for his hand to hit his rather voluptuous target.

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
(Hah, well, I really don't mind waiting for one of your posts if I'm being honest :D )

Normally she didn't slip like that, exposing her back to someone she didn't know. The armor there was different, mere strands of leather on either side tied together in the middle, presumably to keep the piece strapped tightly to her bountiful body. Perhaps he could catch a glimpse here if he hadn't already, the near skintight outfit showing off her rather charming backside and all the charms that came with it, but then that might've been too distracting to care. Thankfully he didn't strike her spine, she'd be frozen in shock almost immediately before succumbing to the mercenary.

Ania struck his arm since he managed to bring it up, a tiny setback as she pulled back straight away to get another blow in, meanwhile the tentacles secured their grasp a little further to ensure he wouldn't be able to elude the staff again. Never before did she face such an adversary despite the nature of their sparring, matching her in both speed and strength if not exceeding the blue skinned female in either of them and while in most cases the adrenaline would cause time to feel as though it passed faster, for her it seemed to slow down turning most predators into harmless pets. But that wasn't enough to be victorious this time around.

There was something in the air, a tension that flowed through her appendages so quickly she couldn't react to it, an electric shock that rippled through her entirety right when he spun her around, exposing her chest to him. "Gah!" Behind the helmet her eyes widened, she hadn't anticipated this ability of his and found her muscles unwilling or rather unable to react as the armor worked as a conductor that allowed the current to spread wildly. Thankfully she felt little pain, especially in the areas that were more prone to the sensations than others such as her neck and tail.

However, she knew that it was over as his hand hit her chest, a dull thump on impact announced his victory. It was a humiliating defeat, having tried to play more fairly but she couldn't blame him for using that naivety against his opponent. "Impressive .." After all they hadn't set any proper boundaries and he merely used what was at his disposal. ".. if not a little unfair."

Those tendrils peeled off of him then, slowly returning to regular length as Ania huffed behind that helmet of hers, the azure orbs of her eyes casually eyeing him from head to toe. She'd lowered her staff as that arm split back into its four original tentacles, then bowed before the victor as her tail slowly uncoiled from his leg. "Congratulations on your victory, Rahs, although seeing how quick it was achieved you might not find it to be utterly satisfying. Perhaps we should do it again sometime, it'd be my pleasure to put up more of a fight."

When the dull sound of his hand was heard, Rahs almost let out a sigh of satisfaction. He stopped his current and pulled his hand back slowly, relaxing his body as her own untangled from his before bowing, curiously eyeing him completely. Rahs bowed back at her, it was mutual respect for another fighter. Once she congratulated him, the mercenary chuckled. "Unfair? I thought you were going to give it your all, hence it would have been fair for me to use all my tricks. It was a good match however, you're definitely no rookie and I'm sure you can handle yourself around here."

"It was quite quick, yes. A more intense fight does sound lovely too. Is it that you want another go? Or maybe you haven't forgotten about dinner and bed, hm?" Rahs added with a small laugh at the end, spinning his staff loosely and then resting his weight against it on the ground. His selection and tone of words were intended, though, to more than just tease her. But he didn't want to exactly get on her nerves, she did seem to hold her ground after all. It's just that it was hard to keep his eyes from stealing glances at her curvaceous body just posing in front of him, he already wanted to see how she looked beneath her armor. If it hadn't been for that, he would've felt the softness of her globes when he managed to hit her to win the spar.

"The rules and stakes would rise for the next fight, however; whenever it'll be. And dinner... Well, I hope your stomach is tolerant enough for food that probably never existed in your planet. Or maybe you'd like to do something else?"

"Tch." Teasing her with the sole slip that was going to haunt her for seemingly forever entertained the both of them, although Ania didn't quite let him in on it since her expression remained hidden by the helmet. He wasn't the only one quick on the draw, however, as she yanked the staff in her hand straight up to his face, mere inches from that sinister mask of his and pointing the flat tip at it. She felt rather playful despite being defeated which was as much reflected in her voice. "Well .. I haven't forgotten about dinner."

Swiftly lowering the weapon she glanced at him once more before heading to the wall where she'd gotten it from, the curves of her body giving her a natural, swinging gait she didn't exactly mean to entice him with. That day would come, surely, but he hadn't earned that privilege yet though perhaps in time he'd catch her off guard either way.

Ania was running low not only on general supplies, but also things she couldn't get around here since those were native to her planet, not Vanejin which wasn't even in the same system. There was one last pill in the shaker Rahs had seen earlier, an item that prevented her from simply breaking open the cage and make off with one of the slaves in that store or ravage the orange alien on the spot after being confined to her ship for weeks. The pressure could become unbearable if the effect wore off and she wouldn't let it happen unless there was no other choice.

She knew during which times the female worked the store near the hangars and could find her by smell easily enough, that was her insurance if the situation got worse. For now she simply walked back over to Rahs, tentacles slipping to her helmet as she took it off whilst others carefully undid the braid restraining her full, black locks. Shaking her head she allowed her hair to fall freely, merely adding to her alluring feminity as she offered him a soft smile. "May I propose another match, first thing in the morning? I get to use all of my tricks, you get to use yours. No rules, the whole deal; including real weapons and a prize of our choosing, how does that sound?"

The blue skinned alien let that sink in, it was a fight in its purest form and only they got to decide when it was over. Still, she had to sweeten the pot a little if she was going to gain anything out of it aside from showing him who truly was stronger, if she won that is. It served as bait for Rahs, having caught up on his lingering gaze she knew there was something he wanted. "We'll need a bigger playground, but I'm sure you can figure something out."

Looking back toward the lounge she pondered a bit on the food available to them. "Shall we dine, now?"

Rahs let out a clear chuckle; teasing her was turning out to be rather entertaining. Even after she went and pointed the staff at him so menacingly. "Dinner, then!" He replied with a more lively voice, even with his deeper tone, to her now more playful demeanor. The food he kept in his quarters came back slowly to him, trying to remember them, though once again his thoughts went somewhere else as Ania went to the wall to place her staff back, alluring curves teasing him. He swung his own weapon before doing the same and then turning back to her.

"Aren't you eager?" he said back with an invisible smile behind the mask. She looked tougher with the helmet on, hiding her expression just like his mask did, appearing to be all business; but without it she returned to be the pretty female alien that he found on the street. "First thing in the morning. No holding back. I should start thinking about my prize," Rahs added teasingly, in agreement with her proposal. The prize was a plus for him. It was the essence of a pure and unrestrained fight that got his blood going, it always brought him good memories and pleasure to feel the thrill of battle.

"Yes, about the battlefield, no need to worry about it. I can arrange it. Now, I hope you are hungry." The mercenary gestured her to follow him, back to the curious lobby and through another door to what seemed to be the kitchen and the table pretty close together. Unlike the first room, the kitchen seemed to give a calmer atmosphere since its main color was white. "Take a seat, Ania. I'll try not to take too long." Besides the courtesy of treating her like the guest she was, it was probably better for her to not indulge in the stranger cooking methods for food she never has seen before, Rahs thought. However, if she did remain longer on Vanejin or became his partner he would have to teach her a few things. She could probably turn out a better cook; Rahs' food was not bad at all, but his training as a soldier always made him direct and practical, and never worried too much about creating a perfect meal.

From the table around the corner, it was surely hard for Ania to really see what he was doing. She heard a few knives, a large thump on a table, and other sounds that could only mean he was having some soft of fun in there. He was preparing a fish of the nibbling kind, found in deeper waters in a planet not far from Vanejin. It seemed to have some kind of whiskers and a lantern that were typical in more carnivorous fish that dwelled in dark waters, or so he was told. Truth was that it was pretty big and he didn't know how much he had to make, so he asked Ania how hungry she was and prepared accordingly.
After a while, Rahs came back with her with the sliced fish on a wooden base and set it before her along with a plate, utensils and a variety of spices to try out; he knew his food, while good, could be done better. He sat down in front of her, on one of the white chairs with a hole between the seat and the back specially done for aliens like him and Ania that had tails. "It tastes way better than it looks, that's just how ugly the fish is."

Post Re: Welcome to Vanejin (for Ania)
Arrangements like these weren't entirely alien to the former huntress and protector of the queen, pompous soldiers of other races often questioned a woman's viability in a fight even on the royal court and Ania enjoyed wrestling each and everyone of them to the ground, followed by their superior if they were daring enough to blame their subordinates incompetence for their loss only to get beaten as well. She smiled, giving a soft nod at the notion that he'd arrange for what they needed, though for now she would appreciate the food he served. "Very well. Feel free to take as much time as you need, I'm not going anywhere after all."

The female alien waited in silence, taking a moment to examine the premises of his home whilst noting with delight how the chairs were made, her tail fit perfectly through the opening which made her wonder whether he got visitors every now and then or only used them for himself. This would be her home soon, after all, albeit a temporary one and learning more about it was a vital part of pulling her weight. She heard him prepare their meal rather than seeing it herself so in order not to disrupt him she made plans for the next few days except for telling him that a smaller portion would suffice. Perhaps after fighting Rahs would be a good time to take a shot at her first act of thievery, safe for the environment and its inhabitants nothing was different at least to her knowledge so even if she were to be witnessed it was doubtful anyone could catch her.

Upon receiving the meal she looked over the slices, flat cuboids cut with expert precision and although she'd eaten fish before it usually turned out to be more of a catch and eat feast back in her tribe. "Thank you, but please .. rest assured that I do not mind the looks. I appreciate the effort in earnest." About to simply grasp a piece and consume it she discovered the utensils and what appeared to be spices, halting for a moment as she made the connection within her mind on how to use them. She might've been there to serve a meal or two, but never got around to using a fork and the like. "Ah .. right.", she began, rather thinking out loud as tentacles reached out for one of the knives and a fork, the remaining ones each weighing their decision before getting a hold of one of the many condiments at their disposal.

Carefully blessing every slice with a different mixture of spices, tendrils swiftly shifting before her performing their task without difficulty she might prove herself worthy as a cook though she was obviously lacking experience in regard to his species. Not only that, but the selection and quantity would need work if she was going to cook for him for it soon became apparant that only a portion of the slices could be considered edible after she was done with them. Placing the spices back down shortly after she did leave a single piece unattended, the first one her fork dug into as she guided it to her full lips with the help of the knife, taking note of its scent and flavor in its raw form before encasing it with her mouth almost gracefully, one of the exquisite traits she'd gathered from royalty.

Ania wasn't worried about them being poisoned, the mercenary remained calm and if she focused enough then his heartbeat could be felt, pulsing through his chest at a steady rate. However, the moment she began to chew on the slice she paused, an explosion of sensations coursing through her tongue that weren't entirely pleasant, the tiniest remnant of taste most species wouldn't even notice lingered in her mouth almost as if she could discern what the fish itself ate before someone put an end to its existence. Its juices embraced her tongue lavishly, the meat itself had been selected by a trained eye but she wondered if her reception of flavor differed from Rahs to this extent. Aside from that she kept chewing, intruiged to find this near abhorrent variety before swallowing, her face never showing any discomfort safe for that initial hesitation.

"My apologies, but I'm afraid that while I can sate myself on the fish, its taste doesn't appear to be very enjoyable to my senses." Ania wanted to explain herself in the least impolite way possible and whilst the food may be pleasant to him, it'd be a mistake to lie to his face about it though the truth caused her to frown. "It's not your fault, Rahs, believe me. I'm sure if we experiment a bit we'll find something that suits my tastes." Taking up another one of her test subjects she led it to her mouth, unfortunately with only slightly better results than before as she began to consume it.
