Vikky ran. She was not intending on being caught yet again. The cave was lit only by what little light made it in from the opening the two girls were now running through. If she was right about that thing not being able to follow them inside this cave, she’d have plenty of time to get her eyes used to the darkness, anyway. For now, confirming that Ishtar had indeed followed, Vikky kept on runni-

… And before Vikky could realize it, she was someone else under Aegir’s indirect influence again. Again.

This was bad. With all that was going on, the Queen had hoped to avoid having to resort to summoning something to counter the threat at hand, but as it looked right now she had no choice. The nation would fall if nothing were to be done. Right now, she knew that the human soldiers down by the gates were doing their best to repel the invaders. They were not bad soldiers in any way, they were well equipped and trained, each one more than a match for an opposing demon. … But they were outnumbered fifty to one. No matter how strong they were, they wouldn’t handle it. Seems like their earlier strategies to dwindle the numbers of the enemies had all failed…

“… I have acknowledged your report. Please, go to the wounded and oversee evacuation procedures of the civilians. … If things go badly, save as many as you can.” And save yourself. The Queen had too many memories of this man to accept seeing him die. Regardless, he was correct. There were too many of them. Their options had dwindled. Their backs were up against the walls. As so, it was with sad eyes that the Queen to the court sorceress standing near the throne.

“I’m afraid we have no choice. … Ishtar. Will you please prepare the summoning circle?” It was with sad eyes that she admitted that they needed the aid of demons to assist in this time of plight, attacked by nothing else than demons. They needed to summon demons to combat demons… What twisted fate was this…?

Ishtar ran as fast as she could to keep up with Vikky. Neither woman wanted to be caught by the tree monster that was chasing them. The two women ran as quickly as they could into the cave, with hopes that would enable the pair to escape the pursuing monster. It was kinda of dark but fear of being caught was enough for the blue haired girl to keep running.

...Until suddenly Ishtar found her self in a different place and time. It was like she was caught up in a dream.

The young woman found herself in a black robe that more hung off of her more than anything else. The castle was under siege and the demons were about to break through the final doors that had kept them safe so far in this horrible war. There troops had but up a heroic fight and had held out far longer than anyone could even hope to be asked to. But they were outnumbered by supernatural forces that had no hope to defeat. It was no one that the kingdom's armies had been pushed back to the castle and now under siege by the demonic forces, their ability to hold out was a credit to how well they had trained for this fight.

The Queen spoke, silencing any comments that were made in the throne room. Already Her Highness ordered that all the civilians and wounded should be evacuated from the castle perhaps to a nearby kingdom that would take the refugees. There was not many options left, and the remaining ideas while extremely, would have to work if the kingdom and its people were to be saved. It was then that the Queen's eyes turned to Ishtar.

Yes, Your Majesty. I will do do at once. The blue haired sorceress immediately went over to the her cabinet nearby. The young woman quickly pulls out the chalk and another items she needed to make the circle. She would have to very careful when she summoning demons to defend their kingdom from the monsters just at the gates.

Indirectly Vikky found herself under the indirect influence of Aegir. In truth she had been aware of his tampering but once before when she had met him through Komiko. For Ishtar this had been her third time like Vikky though all three times she had been unaware of Aegir's manipulations opposed to Vikky who was aware of one of them at least. Of the two Ishtar probably had the darker material to draw upon for in Vikky's there were the few moments that she had with Vilmer that often went contrary to the darker elements. With Ishtar and her magical abilities the focus had been on summoning gone awry.

Aegir was contacted by the node that the trap had been tripped and it was through this node that he had determined that the identities of the intruders were the two aforementioned students.

He was on his way to the cave, the only things of value there being the summoning stone to draw Fafner forth and the podium in which to use it. He did not seek to determine what random scenario was selected. If he were aware that such a dangerous one had been selected by the node he would have changed it but he was in a hurry to get to the cave and secure the stone least something happen to it. It should remain undisturbed and he had some plans for it which he had been slow in implementing as he would only get one shot at this and wanted to do so right.





“Of course, your Majesty,” the man nods then gets up to carry out Vikky's wishes. The room is abuzz with activity but Vikky determines that it is best to fight fire with fire. Perhaps they could get a stronger type of demon to defend themselves. There were a great deal of variety and strength. Some of which Istar knew were dangerous and easily the equal of a hundred of these things but the question was did they risk summoning something like that and if so were they willing to pay whatever price it invoked.

Ishtar got her chalk. The stronger the demon the more complicated the circle had to be to keep it entrapped for the negotiation of terms before it was granted it's freedom. Such bargains were long and drawn out for the most part thoughgh they had no time for that right now.

The strength of the demon would determine how much time would be needed to make the circle. Not just that but was Ishtar going to do it here or else where?

But nodes were notoriously stupid and gained in intelligence as they aged which explained this one's behavior.

“Your Majesty, we may not have time for a convention summons,” one of Vikky's advisors stepped forward. “In the royal vault there is the relic that we acquired last year that could expedite things.”

Vikky was aware that the royal vault had been sealed magically and it took her touch, or that our another of the family's royals to open the doors. Now the node was stupid, it's orders were to delay the girls but in it's very limited mind it believed that if they summoned Fafner then he would delay them from making off with the stone, if it were more intelligent it of course would have recognized the folly in that.

The orders issued by the Queen were carried out. She watched with a sad expression as the man went off to do as she had been told and Ishtar took a chalk and some other things and started preparing the summoning circle. Now all she could do was wait. Down below the commanders were already doing all they could to lead their forces to optimize defense. She had already assigned the best men she had on all areas where they could work. Now… there was little left she could do. She didn’t want to mess up for Ishtar by trying to help, not at a time like this. So, the Queen simply needed to consider what she would say to whatever demon might appear.

… And that was when one of her advisors spoke up. He was always the one to suggest the most extreme and risky things. But this time around, he was right. Every second wasted was a second that many lives were lost down below at the scene of the battle. If they were to win this, it would be a much sweeter victory with as many saved as possible. However… using that relic was potentially dangerous. Nobody truly knew what would occur with its use. However, there was no mistake in that it could potentially save many, many lives…

The Queen gave in, some instinct within her telling her this was the right thing to do. As such she stood up and turned towards the direction of the vault.

“Ishtar, please finish the circle. I will be right back.” She indicated for two guards to follow her, just in case. And so she’d slowly tread over there to undo the seal and bring over the relic…

A little while later the Queen would return with said relic being carried along with its podium by the two guards she brought along (Aegir is free to tell how it looks like). Having brought it this far, she’d take a look out over the city through a hatch to see how the battle was faring at the moment. Then she would turn to Ishtar and ask…

“Ishtar. Do you believe… we should use this relic? You are the most knowledgeable of us in magical arts. What would you recommend?” So she asked, silently seeming to wonder if this was the only hope they had.

Re: Dark Summoning (for Ishtar and Vikky)

Ishtar realized that she would have to build a pretty large summoning circle to call up what would be needed to rescue the castle. While the throne room was big enough it was probably not the best place to summon demons to fight the threat to the castle, she needed the maximum amount of time possible to make the circle. For now at least she would have to make the circle right here. At once she began to make the summoning circle, drawing as much as possible as fast as she could. She had to be accurate as well, because if she was off even a little bit she could make matters worse when she summoned the demon.

The young woman had placed herself on the floor as she continued to draw the circle. The Queen talked to the one of her advisors and then told her to complete the circle. At once the Queen and her entourage went and got the relic. Ishtar continued to make the circle as perfectly as she remembered from the text. She and not realized that she had slightly marred one of the symbols which meant that she and the queen would not be able to keep full control of the creature when she summoned.


It was then that the queen returned with the relic along with two guards who carried it. Yes your majesty. Without it would take most of the day for us to complete the summoning and the binding process. The relic should allow us to summon it fairly quickly. Then I can use the relic to help us bind the creature to do our bidding.

The podium was made of a green crustal with white runes emblazoned it it. It throbbed a steady pale green light at the proximity of the relic as if sensing the nearness of the object. It looked like any other podium though it had a triangular insert at the top allowing the relic to be inserted point down.

It seemed simply enough to use. Anyone could use it though what made it a danger was how easy it could be used when there were few that knew the proper means of using the right summoning circle.

True, it was dangerous but it was quick too. The guards carried it over to the summoning circle and set it down for the time being. They assumed it would go inside the circle when it was done though they would move it then.

Outside the battle did not seem to be going well. Demons were pressing against the gates and while they were bottle necked for now there were demons on the walls now doing battle with the defenders and risking to overwhelm them as they made their way inside at various entry points spreading the defenders out further to try to plug the gaps.

Ishtar informed the queen as to the difficulties that would have cropped up without the relic as far as time had been concerned. Of course neither is aware of the error in the circle, a dangerous error and only realizes that they are being pressed for time chances were that if this did not work that they would probably not have more than an hour let alone the day involved in scribing a summoning circle.

The Queen sighed when even the words of Ishtar recommended the use of the relic so dangerous they had decided to seal it away. Though… they had sealed it away instead of destroyed it due to the fact that they could potentially need it in the future. Without it, it would take a day. They did not have a day. Seeing her valiant soldiers down there die to give them time and knowing the time would not be enough if they did not use this relic… it was painful. Deciding to act as quickly as possible, she looked up from her sorrow with and expression of determination.

“Very well. Please, Ishtar, instruct the guards to where to properly place the podium with the relic for the ritual. Also, if you need extra magical power for either the summoning or the binding, I can offer what I have, if it would help the process. If I can help, please tell me what to do.” While not as magically powerful as Ishtar, the Queen did contain a fair bit of power carried through the line. Not as strong as those chosen to be court magicians and as such could form few spells, but the magical power was there. And she was entirely intending on helping in this dangerous task if she was at all able to.

None of that was an actual command from the Queen. With the word ‘please’ she was merely making a request. At this point, the range of command hardly mattered. All that mattered was a person’s ability to save the people down below, and for the moment Ishtar was far more capable of that than herself. As such, the Queen rather desperately had asked if her mediocre magical power could help, because if she didn’t she’d be feeling helpless just standing back.

And of course, she hadn’t either noticed the small error in the circle.

Ishtar heard the sigh in her Highness's voice as the blue haired sorceress answered the question. The Queen had wanted to destroy the relic so long ago, but was only persuaded at the last minute by Ishtar. The young woman had felt that there was one day in the future that they would need such an item, no matter how terrible it was. And it appeared that today, the day of their greatest need they would need, they finally would be forced to use it.

Yes, your Highness. She turned to the two guards. Guards! Move the relic to exact center of the circle on the ground. It need to be exactly perfect so the summoning ritual will work correctly. Even the slightest error could cause this entire ritual to go wrong. The sorceress supervised the guards as they picked and carefully brought the relic into the center of the circle. It seemed like it was set up perfectly.

Your Highness, I could definitely use your power. This summoning will take all my strength and maybe a little more. You could provide just enough to make sure that my summoning goes well and we have the strength to summon the demons and bind them. The blue haired sorceress took her Queen's hand. Please, your Grace, follow me as a I recite this chant and focus your magical power.

The stage was set, the scenario randomly selected by the node a dangerous one though it had virtually no intelligence of it's own. If it lived long enough it’s intelligence and cunning would grow until it either killed it's parent or seen as a threat was killed in return.

The podium was moved as requested and a chant begun soon after to the distant cries of men and women in the courtyard as it had been clear that the castle was being over run.

The runes engraved in the podium began to glow with a brilliant greenish light that washed out over the room. Once the relic was inserted into the podium there was a rumble that was not part of the illusion as a swirling black gateway had been opened in the fabric of space, a tare that compelled the creature forth.

These stones were so annoying though there were only eight in all of the galaxy that could summon him, Fafner leaves off in humiliating his latest slave to deal with this matter. He was annoyed of course, annoyed with having been summoned while he was preoccupied.

When he passed through the portal he notices the summoning circle, which would not have helped in the least but rather than seeing a lush throne room he sees a dark cavern.

Two girls … he scans their minds instinctively while his eyes set upon the stone that brought him her to this most foul of places … Shokushu … his father had to be behind this … yes, he could see the memories on the minds of these two, they had encountered the one he was compulsed to kill for Fafner was a failed experiment some 8000 years in the making.

He also saw that the girls had been caught up in an illusion, one that he was soon to dispel though not quite yet. His mind reached into their subtly making changes so that they could see as well as he in the darkness for he wanted to see the horror on their visages completely when he took them, pay back for bringing him all the way across the galaxy to this very spot.

Who summons?

He was not a great telepath but he search out and felt for the node that generated all this. He could not best his father in illusions but destroying the node would end this meager illusion until his father could get her and unlike he, father was slow so he had the advantage there. He regretted that he had to make this violation of the girls brief to account for the fact that Aegir was probably on his way here.

Now the node was only sensed by him. Other than telepathy all telepathic attacks would be for not though telekinetic ones to crush it were more his forte at the moment.

His eyes swing from one girl to the other analyzing what his father had seen in them. They were attractive but he wondered why his father did not just rape them senseless … he had ravished them in dreams but that was lame to Fafner when an approach by tentacles was far more appropriate here.

The guards moved the relic to the center, and Ishtar told the Queen on how she was to help out. With a grateful nod, she let her hand be taken by her friend and court magician as she followed along with what she had been told to do. And with that, the summoning ritual could be under way…

A great green light. A dark gateway that was torn open. The summoning had been a success, as far as could be seen from here. The Queen kept her determined face fixed upon the gateway and the being soon to come through it. It was… actually shorter than she had imagined, but considering the beings obviously non-human appearance and the stereotypical dark magic robes (read straight from the character sheet) she did not doubt this being was capable of magic beyond her comprehension. If this thing was capable of helping them at this point… then that would be needed. The question of who summoned was asked. The Queen felt the need to act.

“I was the one who had you be summoned here.” She raised her voice, and stepped forward. “I am Queen Viktoria (Vikky’s birth-name, I doubt she’d change it if she was born royalty), queen of this small nation which is now under attack.” Not knowing she was in an illusion and that every word she spoke would seem ignorant for the being she spoke to, the Queen carried on. “As you can see, we are under attack from a threat which we are without the means to combat ourselves. As such, we have decided to attempt dealing with forces greater than our own.” Her eyes indicated she was talking about the being before her, who she was now speaking to. Suddenly a small bit of doubt rose within her. Ishtar had spoken of binding the demon, yet… yet the being seemed very much unbound. Was that an illusion? The Queen had her doubts and would have liked to speak with Ishtar on the subject, but this demon did not seem like the type which appreciated being left hanging.

“… If your assistance comes at a prize, we will pay it dutifully if it to the best of our ability if that is what it takes to safe our people. So…” She gave a quick look backwards as Ishtar to get a sense of how well the ritual had gone. “Will you help us repel this threat?”

The magician continued to work through her ritual trying to make sure that everything went perfectly, so far the guards had done their part even as the Queen made sure that her magic was properly used so that the demon could be summoned properly. It was too bad Ishtar had missed the mistake she had made on the circle.

Soon a great green light filled the room as a swirling dark gateway began to open. The blue haired magician brushed back her hair as the wind picked up as a being seemed to step through the gateway. It soon became clear that the creature was wearing dark robes that seemed somewhat similar to what Ishtar wore. However that the creature was clearly not human and more than even Ishtar or her Queen, exhuming magic. It was cleared that the creature would have the power to be able to help them and Her Highness save the kingdom from the army of demons before it was too late.

The queen spoke up and explained that she was the one that had called for the summoning and wanted to creature to protect the kingdom from the attack that threatened to destroy all of them. Ishtar noticed that the creature moved a bit as if it was not bound by the circle that Ishtar had drawn on the floor. It was then that Ishtar realized that the circle had a small imperfection in it, a smug that the blue haired magician had made herself. With that it meant that the creature would be able to move freely and do whatever he wanted. The queen was in great danger as even her guards would not be able to stop them. The last thing was on Ishtar's mind was that it was all an illusion and that the two women would not be able to control the monster.


Ishtar moved in front of her queen, Your Highness, I am afraid that something has gone wrong. You are not safe here.

Fafner realized that he was caught up in an illusion that the two had experienced. It was being induced as far as he could tell and he reached out to the node that was forming, crushing it simultaneously will continuing the illusion though their minds let the illusion play out without a hitch as he hijacked it. Unless either were sensitive to psychic emissions it would be an easy enough matter to do so.

Fafner regarded the girls feeling that his father had connected with these minds, which was cause enough to disgust him. Though after a moment his eyes widen in surprise. Ishtar? This was too good, the sister of that agent he had in his clutches once.

He had used Ishtar once in his plans against the red headed agent, though he had to play this cool and not slip up. He could later torment the red head about this later, or better yet reenact this scene for her if he ever did met her again though he doubted it. He lived a long time, however.

From the “wizard” he sensed that she was important to his father in some way, he picked up the memories … ah, so that was what it had to be. He could not tap into the mind of Ryu since she was not there but he could tap into her memories.

Aegir wanted Ryu it seemed but Ryu wanted Ishtar to get Ryu he had to make some sort of deal … how touching. It sickened him though his attention turned to the “queen” .

She might not have been so important in his father's games. There was something familiar in her mind, a psychic presence though the only memories he could be certain of where some what pleasant, there were others though he was not 100% sure that they were another being's handiwork or his fathers, there were markers that were awfully familiar though.

But as annoyed as he was at being ripped her through the fabric of space and time he was in a great position. He could recover the stone and torment the two girls. He assessed the situation. About him as a tentacle slithered forward and pulled back from the edge of the circle as if that did any good.

Another circled about the stone plucking it from it's resting place. I want this for starters ...

He was not a great telepath but he was fair, fair enough to pick up on the thoughts that Ishtar was having. Occasionally the drug he had been addicted to which enhanced his speed greatly dulled a lot of his telepathic abilities but her mind … he had sensed one like it not too long ago … ironic that her own sister allowed Fafner that gateway for it was that connection with her sister that made him mildly curious about her. Normally he couldn't give a fuck, these two young women had encountered his father, that was enough to set him off but the gig was up.

He didn't have the this to play with them anyway. A thought alone and the illusions of the guards suffering broken necks occurred in the blink of an eye. Ishtar's warning was barely past her lips when a stream of tentacle where launched at them, his telekinetic powers nudging Ishtar out of the way so he could target the pair of them with ease, first restraint each with a sea of his tentacles.

Next I will have you two lovelies. Through telekinesis he began shredding and tearing at their clothing quite pleased at the discoveries that he was about to make.

There were three tentacles on each of them, a single leg and the wrists, his elastic nature letting the appendages stretch from further back then what seemed possible.

The being before her started shifting around its tentacles while informing that he would take the stone. The Queen tried to keep her brow from furrowing at this as she considered that maybe he could use it to summon himself anywhere or anytime, bringing a new terror to the world. Had they perhaps unleashed a greater horror than the one they had summoned to defend themselves against? If so was the case, then it was already too late. The Queen felt the need to attempt going through with this, no matter what happened. Also, since I cannot find it described anywhere, the Queen was wearing a red royal dress symbolizing the blood her people had to spill today. Also that crown mentioned earlier, but she assumed she might have to take it off soon.

The Queen wasn’t entirely surprised when Ishtar ran in front of her announcing the danger she was in. After all, she herself had not felt the bindings in place at all, and her magical power was to be used to bind it. Since she was prepared for it, no additional panic arose from within her frail human body. Upon the mention of danger, the guards would briefly start lifting their halberds into position to defend the two ladies. The Queen was going to calmly announce that she already knew this, and that she was going to attempt finishing the deal despite the danger she was in so that the protection was appreciated but that everyone was to stand aside to just let this take place… but she wasn’t given the time to. Suddenly a large number of cracks were heard, and without any apparent influence all the guards fell dead to the floor with twisted necks, their weapons clanking against the ground. The Queen froze from guilty conscience as the twisted feelings of the sudden deaths struck her, but she was given no time to recover.

Tentacles grabbed ahold of her wrists and one of her legs. Her dress was starting to be torn apart by the same power that had killed the guards, red fabric flying like small flower-petals in all directions. The Queen flinched back, unintentionally moving too fast for her crown to remain on so it dropped down and bounced off the floor. Soon she’d be stripped down to her matching white underwear… which would soon be torn too. All her naked skin would soon be revealed, that which no man had truly seen ever before in this world. The Queen aimed a distressed look at the summoned being, knowing fully well what he was intending to do and what it would mean to her. Making a split-second decision, the Queen spoke. I’m sorry, Ishtar.

“… Fine. You can have what you are asking for.” She mounted a determined expression looking up at him. “I promise full cooperation. In exchange, I ask you to help repel the invaders of my people and then leave them in peace.” She made sure to keep her eyes fixed on the being that very well could just ignore what she was saying and do whatever he wished. “My people are being killed with every second. Time is of the essence. Can you help… please?” She was entirely intending on giving herself… and Ishtar… up if this meant she could defend the entire nation. They would not be able to escape his clutches by now anyway. Now… she could only hope for the ample judgment of the demon. … Success felt unlikely…

Ishtar realized as the tentacles were beginning of the monster was beginning to move. Ishtar realized that she absolutely no control over the monster that stood in the circle so herself, the guards, even the the queen was extremely danger. Almost instantly the sorceress had moved to protect her queen. Even as she stood in front of Her Highness to protect from the evil that she had brought to this castle. Already the magic user began to prepare another spell to defend the queen. It was a complicated spell, but if the blue haired girl could get the spell off she may be able to send to try to reinforce the binding. Maybe if she could get the spell off in time she would be able to force the demon back under control before it was too late.

The guards had already begun to react as they brought their halberds up to ready. The men were prepared to do what it takes to defend the two women but most importantly what ever the monster that Ishtar had brought into the world. However as the two warriors began to move towards the circle and the demon. However there was a blast of wind the as there was a series of crack that echo through the room. The sorceress could only watch in horror as the two lifeless men fell to the ground their weapons echoing as the bounced off the ground. The same wind knocked the blue haired magic user aside like she was nothing fully exposing the Queen as well as herself to the full danger of the demon. Already what looked like a wave of tentacles were rocking towards the lovely pair. And now that Ishtar's spell had been interrupted their was nothing to protect the vulnerable women from the tentacles that were descending upon them. Ishtar though up her hands to protect herself.

Almost at once tentacles wrapped around her wrists securing her arms before she could make another gesture. Another tentacle wrapped around her left leg as well, making sure any movements the sorceress could make. Suddenly the wind that killed the guards descended on the blue haired magic user. Already she could feel the fabric of her black robes begin to be ripped apart by the wind. Soon there was nothing left except but a few tattered remain of her robes, except for some of the torn remains of her sleeves.
