Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
"Makes me wonder what basis they weigh their decisions on." That was one of the reasons why Ryu despised authority, in this case they undoubtedly had absolute control over their subordinates instead of having limited options, but they applied regardless. Knowing best doesn't protect the Executives from misjudgement or being prone to corruption, but he didn't have to know what she was thinking. In the worst case she was flat out wrong, but perhaps if he revealed more then she'd know better.

It was reassuring that Typhoon may not betray her, at least not because he served Tori in some way. She'd have to be wary of interacting with the others, still, the girl nodded in understanding as he revealed what he knew.

The details of that favor put a faint smile on her face, the lack of planning amused the red haired beauty as she shifted her weight from one side to the other. Raising a hand to her chin she glanced around momentarily, thinking of just what to say in response. "So .. You need me to acquire this misterious something at an undisclosed location that I may get to at some point during my stay here the timing of which neither of us know quite yet before taking it back to you .. And let's not forget the risks of getting caught."

Her phrasing and tone wasn't ill willed, but rather playful as she recalled that an angel was asking her a favor. "You see my problem here? Ah, but don't worry, you can count on me. I'll do it."

Ryu considered her view on the three other sorcerers. "I hope there's enough time to get to know my cellmates, not just their lives but who they really are, as people. Don't want one of them ditching me the second things get rough."

Out of the blue she felt the drowsiness return making her eyelids feel like a heavy burden, a reminder of what just occured in the chamber and the impending conclusion of their first session. A hand went to her forehead, swiftly brushing the bangs there aside as the most important concerns of hers were taken care of. "I'm sorry, but you've really worn me out .. would you mind if we called it a day?"

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
He was on the very cusp of joining that elite order so his personnel power was great after battling for countless centuries and serving the Executives flawlessly throughout that time. Faith was an important thing for them to have.

The Executives had a Source above them and it was important that they obeyed. But Nicodemus only heard whispers of this, that the Executives were just passing down their commands from above.

“It is a system that requires Faith in all things even when it does not seem right it is ...”

“Oh, it is not a mysterious something to me, Flame.” He grinned upon her. “I know where it is, at least down to the building that it is kept in. But for the time being I have decided that your focus should be on picking a partner than sorting over these details but yes, the planning is rather absent. Truth be told I did not expect to have to reveal my true nature so soon thus you are strong enough to be of assistance. Perhaps not strong enough by yourself but strong enough where you'd have a good shot at things. Do this and you will not have to worry about Tori at all.

“The risks of getting caught would mean death, for you, perhaps even for me,” he contemplated that as if not faced with his own mortality two often for few things could directly end his existence. “But Tori still needs you too so even if you fail she will keep you around for a bit until she finishes with you at least.”

“Excellent. Doing this pleases me more than you will be aware at this junction in time.”

He reflected on the other sorcerers for a moment. “Your time of course will depend on Tori's time table. Off the top of my head Typhoon is quite intelligent but weakest of you four save for when he's in watery environments. Gale is probably going to be flighty like the air and Roc unyielding but reliable to a degree. That is more a guess based on their element of choice.”

He smirked at that confession. “No, I do not mind at all.” He put the collar back on her and called for the goblin guards. He had orders for them not to touch her and to bring her back to her cell. She had no manacles. The danger came from her magic most of all. When they got to her cell there was a third occupant their in white robes. Her eyes blue, Her hair long and golden.

She was an elf too, Gale?

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
The possibility of death wasn't an unexpected outcome of doing the angel a favor, but her time here wasn't quite dependant on her well being and if she didn't carry out his request then Murk and the goblins could have their way with the curvaceous red head whichever way they pleased. As long as she had the strength to summon her respective serpent when the time came, it wouldn't matter what shape she was in. Nicodemus or someone of equal power could possibly restore her physically if they went slightly overboard with their enthusiasm, but Ryu prefered doing what she could in order to escape or make her stay more pleasant. Hope usually died last, after all.

If by some miracle she died before serving her purpose it might stall the witch's plans, but she could be replaced. It gave her little comfort that the angel assumed the sorceress would be spared even if caught during the act, it seemed like a generous idea considering her current situation yet she deemed helping him worthwhile.

Choosing one of her cellmates wasn't going to be easy, even more so if they ran low on time. Upon seeing his smirk she was going to protest, knowing that he probably misunderstood what she said and fueled his fantasies with it, but she simply dismissed that thought. "Until next time."

She was escorted back to her cell and as promised the goblins didn't make a move. It was a quiet return, not talking neither taunting the wicked creatures as they passed through the dimly lit and rather chilly corridors, the extra layers of clothing barely making the climate noticeable this time around.

The globes of her eyes set upon a newcomer it seemed, a woman who she easily distinguished as the air elementalist Gale or so she assumed. An elf, she didn't know why that thought popped into her head, only that it did. However, she searched for Typhoon as she stepped further inside, taking a look around before a smile crossed her face. There was a thought that occured to the woman, that she may have to be careful in what she revealed to them such as Nick's true nature, but at the same time she needed to find one to trust. The slight amount of dried blood on her pants was a mere sentiment to her received punishment so she figured at least that was out of the way, making Typhoon easier to approach later on. "Either we haven't had dinner yet or you really ate my sandwich."

Stepping closer to him she lowered her voice as to prevent the other woman from hearing it. "About your offer .." She refered to sleeping on the floor with him of course, sharing the warmth of their bodies during the night. Undoubtedly it'd be colder then, but the idea embarassed her greatly so keeping things under tight wraps seemed appropriate. "As long as it's still on the table that is, I'll gladly accept it."

Ryu turned toward the other elementalist then, trying hard to keep up a good mood whilst desiring sleep above all. "Good evening, miss." Not knowing what time of the day it was, that seemed as good as anything to say. "Typhoon and I have wondered when and if we'd get some more company, though I didn't expect you to arrive quite as soon."

"I'm Flame, by the way, pleased to meet you." She extended a hand, expecting her to take it out of common courtesy although if she didn't Ryu would merely walk over to the bunk closest to Typhoon, slumping down and finding support against the wall behind her.

A sigh escaped the recently tortured girl, she was quite exhausted yet simply ignoring their newest cellmate would've been nothing but impolite, not to mention they hadn't eaten and she needed the strength back. "My apologies, but I'm a little out of it lately .. the past hour has been .. rough."

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
There seemed to be little condition of how she was treated save for that she was still alive at the appointed time it seemed as if he were aware that she was going to take on this favor or perhaps he already planned on granting her request and thought to obtain something out of the matter. There were far too many possibilities to considered

As pleasant as he was Nicodemus was still her jailor after all. He could have made things far more difficult for her if he wished though either due to his nature or because it had not run contrary to his plans she was allowed a little leeway.

Brought back to her cell the goblins remained somewhat diligent as if they did not dare go against their orders. It was clear that they feared Nicodemus though whether or not they knew of his true nature was a mystery. He was back to his disguised blond haired blue eyed self when they arrived. White suit, gloves, beard but no mustache …

She was placed in her cell along with the two others.

“Sorry, I got hungry,” Typhoon began then he got up off his bunk and smiled. “Naw, I'm kidding I guess they didn’t want to make another trio down here and held off feeding us until you got back. It's probably just going to be boring peanut butter sandwiches again.”

Typhoon nods as she drops her voice. “Yeah, that's still on the table.”

The elf did not take her hand. These two humans were beneath her even if she were a prisoner too. This place left something to be desired. Flame, Typhoon, what obvious names though hers wasn't much better. It was not her real one though, Gale had been her deceased sister's name that she had to assume when taking up the mantle of sorceress.

“Gale Imladris, third Princess and Chief Elementalist to the elven nation in Gaist on the Shadow of Brindel. Both fire and water, it seems we are missing someone.”

She rolled her eyes and folded her arms about her chest, the smell of cooked pheasant waifed down the corridor to their nostrils.

"Thank you." Gale if not in addition to Roc would see them performing the act later that day anyway, but at least she'd be kept comfortably warm which was more than enough of a payoff for being embarassed.

Ryu wasn't offended to find that the elf didn't take her hand, she hadn't spent much time reading fantasy novels back home and thus couldn't tell if she had to earn some sort of mutual respect first or if this situation occured generally in spite of coming across as friendly. It made more sense as she brought forth the fact that she was royalty, not used to a direct approach from commoners whilst the red head felt rather daft despite there being no reason for it.

"Oh .. I'm sorry. An honest mistake, your highness. It won't happen again." Bowing her head slightly for a moment she remained on the bunk, making the effort seem half hearted although Ryu didn't mean to upset the princess. "However, I don't think our jailors will care much for your reputation."

For the most part her best bet laid on Typhoon. Smart and humorous from what she could tell, although the weakest of the four as she was told. First impressions were important and while she would try to get to know all of them in time, these moments specifically were essential in her choosing of an assistant.

Gale on the other hand was the incarnation of less desired traits, at least to Ryu. The authority she held, the lack of realisation that her status didn't matter here, the restrained arrogance leaking out of every pore which was expressed in denial of their handshake and overall attitude, it all added up to something she despised. It'd be hard to work with this one, less of all get involved so there was little reason to assume she made for the best choice.

It was an unforeseen relief as the faint smell of something flowed through their cell, she couldn't quite nail it at first but assumed that it was some sort of meat or poultry. The aroma was mouth watering in comparison to mere sandwiches and definitely worth the wait as she sat there, a hand smoothly running across her clothed belly as she wondered when was the last time she'd eaten.

"Seems like we're in luck. Unless sandwiches smell like that we might dine well tonight." Part of her hoped there was enough to sate their thirst and hunger, that it was actually going to be their meal and not someone else's. This would be one of the better days and she knew it, even then it proved rather lackluster if there were many more to come.

“Your most welcome.” Typhoon said to Flame though he soon watches as Flame has a similar experience to what he had not too long ago. Flame receives the same sort of unfriendliness an he wonders if she just hated humans or thought her station was better than there's.

“Do not make that mistake again,” Gale didn't do anything so obvious as to state that she were using their species as an insult or what have you but she seemed somewhat unconcerned or perhaps naïve of the dangers of their jailors.

“Ogres and goblins are beneath my notice, let them try to disrespect me.” Either she was full of herself, into her pompous role or had some sort of talent that was unknown that protected her, it was hard to say though if the later then obviously it wasn't great if she were here now.

When the guards came with dinner it was with measly peanut butter sandwiches and nothing for Flame. She could have had Gale's if she didn't pitch a fit to the point where one of the guards added flavor by spitting in the sandwich.

About ten minutes later a chart was wheeled into the cell with a great deal of food. Roasted pheasant, mashed potatoes, green beans, even a bottle of wine all for Flame. Gale was escorted out of the cell for her orientation it seemed leaving Flame with far more food then she could possible

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
The elven princess was headed down a dangerous path, but it'd be her fault and her fault only if she were to upset their jailors. Sooner or later she was going to face the consequences for inciting annoyance or even anger within them and if their tender affections weren't enough to change her mind, then someone or something else surely would.

Needless to say it didn't concern Ryu beyond initial worries as they were given their meal, at least the two of her cellmates as it seemed they'd forgotten her own on purpose. For a moment she considered asking Gale for her less delicate meal if she refused to eat, but instead she got it ruined by throwing a tantrum. She couldn't blame her, but part of the red head felt relieved as she was finally escorted elsewhere, orientation perhaps, it didn't matter as long as she gave them some room to breathe.

The cart on the other hand which was brought in at roughly the same time was stocked with a meal she hadn't thought would be served to prisoners. It surprised her that it was meant for the fiery sorceress specifically. Nicodemus had said she'd dine better than any prisoner could hope, but this seemed to be over the top not only because it was unfair to Typhoon and Gale but also made her seem suspicious if she got these goods bestowed unto her.

Ryu got up, somewhat agigated by the selection presented to her. "Hey Typhoon, are you still hungry?" She laid eyes on the wine. "Or thirsty?"

There was a brief pause as she considered what to do. It was more than she could eat alone and whilst he'd already consumed his so called meal it didn't hurt to ask. "We could probably split all this into three equal parts .. Yeah, that'd work .. One for you, one for Gale and one for me. Granted, hers might be cold by the time she comes back, but at least we'd have some decent dinner."

Technically it belonged to her and if she decided to share there shouldn't be much of a problem, in case there were any she could always play Nick as a card against the goblins if they were going to get physical over it for whatever absurd reason.

However, Flame avoided answering the obvious question as to why she was given such a treat for now, perhaps soon she'd reveal more as her mind worked to give an appropriate answer leaving out some of the details. Even if he didn't vocalize his curiosity she knew it must've been there somewhere, he was one of the means of escape and while initially Typhoon had his suspicions she hoped to gain his trust eventually.

Typhoon thinking that the lack of her meal might have been a deliberate slight offered up half his crummy sandwich to her though only some of his water. They did not give them too much and while he had been here only a day longer than she he had already begun to loose weight seeing how rarely he got to eat now if it could be called eating.

Gale left their cell, fortunately. He did not like the pompous elf much and was hoping that she would be singing a different tune after orientation.

“If it's not goblin peanut butter sandwiches.” He smirked and drew closer to her. “Even the water is watered down.” But he would share in the meal. He did not ask any questions about it though it was when they finished their meal that he spoke up about it.

“I hit on the guy and all I get is crummy peanut butter sandwiches,” he smiled good naturedly so he was probably kidding. He did gesture her closer running a finger against the collar, grasping it after a moment in both hands and tried to tare in but she felt no effect.

He smiled and dropped his hands. “It feels like cloth but tougher than it, I was just curious about something. Thank you for indulging me.”

Gale was returned to the cell with two goblin guards. “What the hell is this!?”

It appeared that the goblins did not care to answer, one shoving her forward deeper into the cell, the other moving to claim the cart and would do so if not for the fact that Flame mentions that it was Nicodemus' doing. He pauses, nods then holds up one finger.

“You have half an hour then I will be back for the cart.”

The goblins leave the cart after securing the prisoners in their cell and taking off for the time being.

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
Despite their inconvenient imprisonment the dinner almost felt pleasant in a way though it was riddled with silence, the two of them feasting on their deliberately self assigned portions not speaking a word. Ryu periodically checked how much they'd eaten to keep enough for the princess although she hadn't been entirely forthcoming, she might've deserved a thorough torture session to get back in line, but seeing how she refused the sandwich she didn't deserve to hunger.

The wine certainly proved better than what meagre amount of water Typhoon had given the red head, naturally she was grateful yet she drank her third of the bottle without as much of a second thought and ended up somewhat tipsy by the time they were finished with their meals. It was a tasty beverage, a red wine though anything beyond that would elude her, she wasn't exactly a connoisseur when it came down to it. She was nothing short of slightly intoxicated seeing how her body was prone to alcohol, but generally she handled herself rather well if not the same as if she weren't drunk when such came to pass.

She grinned when he commented on what he'd tried with Nick, the faint notion of the angel ringing in her ears that he'd hoped for more back then. The sorceress said nothing in response and let him do with her collar as he pleased once she understood what he was trying to do, unfortunately the wine got her talking. "That might be because it's not cloth .. It's actually metallic with a latch somewhere around the neck whilst the cloth is merely an incredibly well made illusion."

Of course she could've elaborated on that, but Gale was brought back and seemed rather upset, likely because of the scene before her. The woman simply grinned, giving a clear yet dry response as the air elementalist was pushed back into their cell. "It is supper, your majesty."

Flame hadn't figured out why thus far, but the mere mention of Nicodemus managed to intimidate her escort as one of them went for the cart or at least made him contemplate the whim on which he planned on taking the remaining food from them. Ryu gave a plain "I understand." before the goblins departed, for now at least as her focus returned to the newcomer.

"Ah, but it's good you're back." Gesturing toward the cart she was quite confident this would benefit their relationship and possibly lessen the tension in the air, if there was any left with how unreasonably great Ryu felt at the time. "We've shared the food equally and left you a third of it in case you were hungry, it's probably the best we'll ever get served in this prison anyway."

There was a brief moment of realisation, she had been unaware of how to treat a princess in the first place and how polite one was meant to be. "I, um .. excuse me, the wine." She straightened a bit, not overly so for she was wary of feeling dizzy before suppressing a hiccup. "I was merely wondering if your highness would like to at least try some? We've noticed you haven't eaten anything and while I'm guessing sandwiches aren't exactly meant for royalty it seemed appropriate to at least offer you to eat some of .. well, this. We kept it specifically for you."

Her eyes swept across the food momentarily, a subtle frown shaping up on her features. "Might be cold by now, unfortunately."

“Metal? You had it off?” But Gale was back and conversation about it ended. He was almost certain he could get it off if it were thin enough but that was knowledge he kept to himself for the time being there was no sense in getting her hopes up.

He smiled at the obvious answer supplied by Flame about the food but watched. After they had left he walked to the bars of the cell turning back to the girls and holding up one finger and in a cocking goblin-like voice he spoke.

“I'll be back in one half hour.”

“Goblins aren't known for their smarts,” Gale added and shook her head. She eyed the food suspiciously though, The sandwiches came but this arrived when she was gone but she also noted that she did not receive anything for dinner either.

Well, the humans were still alive so it probably wasn't poisoned still Gale approached things cautiously as if moving towards a viper coiled and prepared to strike.

Such common fare, still she flicked her eyes to Flame. “It is appreciated.” She did not touch the meat though, her diets were different than the humans. “Cold is alright for precooked vegetables for the most part many that I have are uncooked to begin with.”

She was an elf and did not need to eat much in comparison to the humans, nor did the wine seem to affect her at all seeing that she had been drinking wine at every meal well before either of them had been alive.

“So, what is the situation here? Where are we? Why are we here?”

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
"Well, you don't see that every day." Ryu wondered if her eyes played tricks on her dazed mind before realising that Typhoon was in fact gone. Whatever he planned on doing she was hoping he'd return safely, she could use the company if Gale didn't grow a little warmer toward her cellmates.

She gave a soft smile, noting with delight that she was at least giving it a try although she hadn't touched the meat which wasn't that much of a loss. Still, she made a mental note of it. "I'll try to keep that in mind."

Returning to the bunk she sat on earlier she thought things over, Typhoon wouldn't be back for an agonizing thirty minutes which meant she couldn't rest properly until then. However, at the same time it meant she could talk to Gale as the elf began asking questions. "Alright, you're gonna love this .."

It was a matter of principle that she withheld some of the more vital information, that their male companion deserved to know first knowing that until Roc joined them she could disclose the same things upon the other woman. "We're on the Shadow of Carrion, a hellish prison we've been brought to via the use of portals only three rings can open, of which we posess none. I've gathered that all of us except Typhoon have had their mind suppressed so that even if we were to remove these collars, which radiate anti-magic if you haven't noticed already, we'd still not be able to fully make use of our capabilities. In the end of our stay we might just get killed once we've done whatever it is we're supposed to do .. so .. it's looking quite bad, actually."

Near the end she gave a somewhat bemused yet restrained laugh, the wine meddling with her mind since she found their predicament to be quite amusing. "We're effectively stuck here even if we were to escape our cell because of the rings being the only ways off this plane and while we're working on an escape of sorts we've been hindered by our own suspicions."

Answering the last question wasn't easy. She thought Nicodemus told her everything up to the point where they may be disposed of or recruited, it was a risk no matter what she decided to do, be it reveal it all or hold back until Typhoon gave it his proper judgement. The truth of the matter was that not all their memories were available to them and there was no telling if Gale would even remember if she was let in on everything so Typhoon remained stationed above all. With any luck he knew something about the Blue Shrine as well. "Hm .. well, I'll tell you what I know, but I don't think you'll find it to be very helpful."

Ryu shrugged, crossing her arms in front of her sizeable chest as she recalled what she knew with certainty, momentarily becoming more serious in tone. "The witch, Tori, wanted us captured or rather four elementalists of water, fire, air and earth respectively although the reason eludes me. All I know is that we're special to a degree but not unique and therefore expendable so we could be killed despite stalling her plans with us for a few weeks in search of a replacement."

Briefly drifting off to the side with her eyes she considered if that was enough for now before looking back at the elf with the same old dopey grin. "I'm not sure if knowing what I know puts you at ease, princess, but you've asked."

Typhoon was taken from the cell for the time being with his mocking of the goblin guards shortly after the guards had left and returned leaving the two women to get acquainted with one another. Gale listened to what Flame had to offer, saying little at first but just noting the facts at first.

“Then you commoners maybe in luck. Carrion is difficult to break out of unhindered. Even if we escaped the jail it would do us little good though as a Princess of the Elven people and eldest daughter of house Imladris people will indeed be sent to investigate my disappearance. They should discover that I am here and find a ways to retrieve me though I do not know how long all this will take them.”

She sighed and sat on the edge of one of the beds. Considering that some of her memories had been suppressed to things were a little foggy though far less than the human. Her memories stretched back decades on matters so something designed to hinder recent memories had been less effective on her.

“I know of Tori, she is powerful, not as strong as her elder sister Sable but a viable threat. The sisters live apart, Sable in Llynoria and Tori in Brindel though it is obvious that the two are sharing resources for it is the goblins of Llynoria that have the ring that opens a portal here. It would be my guess that the goblins are Sable's though I am unsure if this goes beyond a simple case of 'sis can you watch a few prisoners for me' or something that involves the two.

“The Blue Shrine I know of. Centuries ago a species of twisted elves, transformed into beings devoted to magic called Reggelids attempted to conquer the Kingdom of Urik on Brindel where vast magical knowledge was kept. But since they were after all magic the species of that Shadow united and defeated them before it was too late sealing away the recovered magic of the Reggelids in the Blue Shrine, most was considered two powerful or cursed to do anything … for safety the knowledge and items were sealed away and sealed though four great serpents guarded that knowledge.

“I believed that these were guardians, great beasts but considering that the witch is gathering up elemental mages it would imply that the seal actually refers to the summoning of the elemental serpents.”

Thunderous steps warned them before they could get into any more detail as Murk appeared outside of their cell, a twisted grin on his features as he looked at the two, his stare settling on Flame. He was unarmed though that meant nothing. He gestured towards the back wall with a grunt making it clear that he did not speak their language, it was hard enough to remember the little goblin he knew.

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
Admittedly Gale made her feel rather idiotic for concealing the truth since she knew roughly as much as Ryu who hadn't even heard of anything similar before getting involved with Nicodemus. Obviously she was well aware of what might be going on with what little clues the red head was offering and despite trying to gain their trust she'd simply lied or not told the entire story whilst knowing that the elf wasn't doing the same due to their stories being near identical. Later on she'd have to correct her mistake as best she could though for the moment there wasn't much that could be done.

For a moment she thought of formulating an apology, but the familiar if not shudder inciting steps of someone bulky roused her out of these worries for now merely to replace them with others. It was Murk, giving the pair a look that didn't indicate any good intentions as he peered into their cell.

His image was slightly blurry for the most part, but she could make out his disgusting facial expression with ease even then before he made a gesture she didn't quite manage to interpret, not that she intended to follow through with his given orders. She would jump at the chance to have him try and touch them, to use her promised protection against the ogre although no matter how tempting she knew how dangerous it truly was. Murk would've had no trouble knocking her out no doubt but if he went for Gale she'd have to try and shield her from this abomination.

All she did in that moment was get up on her feet, somewhat insecure in her stance as an onrush of dizziness surged through her body, not enough to make her stumble or fall but it was blatantly obvious the wine had taken its toll. They were helpless if he made a move on them, but perhaps she could get him to reconsider if she gave no display of fear knowing that the girl had Nicodemus on her side while possibly showing the elven princess that she was either brave or completely out of her mind, it didn't matter as long as she resisted.

Ryu knew they couldn't understand one another, but she planned on defying this massive beast regardless. Her voice was condescending underlined with threat though on the inside she feared him, Nick could only protect her this much and if this monster of a jailor wanted to disobey he'd have done so long before the other could intervene. "You should back off."

Post Re: The Fallen (for Ryu)
A smirk peeled over his lips. He had been looking forward to this and now that he heard that there were two women he did not desire to wait any longer. Producing a key his meaty hand unlocked the cell as her said some unintelligible again.

Then he paused as his gaze shifted to the elf who said something back. That shouldn't have been a surprise, elves lived hundreds of years on average, though barring violent ends they were effectively immortal.

She spoke something to him in his tongue that distracted him for a moment before a rumbling laugh. He came forth contemplating who he was going to rape first. For the moment he settled on the closest of the two which happened to be Gale.

Saying something back to the elf, something probably vulgar as the elf rolled her eyes, retorted and dropped into a fighting stance. Left hand forward, right cocked back displaying that she was right handed and had some martial training and probably a fool too boot as the ogre lumbered forward the stank of his body odor negating the aroma of the cooked pheasant.
