Hel looked at the supplies and added the knife Rebecca eyed along with a shortbow for herself. It was a tent, three sleeping bags, canteens and the food they'd need. She hoped the merchant wouldn't overcharge them.

She placed the money on the counter. "How much will this be?"

Tim did the quick calculations. The merchant was a fair one, maybe it was because he was on in years and well beyond the sage of making quick profit. “For everything, 75 Gilda”

The most expensive think was the tanto of course. It was well balanced and etched with the image of a serpent entwined around the pommel.

After negotiations were settled if they entered into a bargain with him or not were they could only manage to talk him down to 72 Gilda gold coins seeing that they were making such an incredible deal as it was they left finding that Rafe got them all riding horses.

They were rather worthless in combat but he had no intention of riding his into battle. He had ten coins left so he didn't do too badly.

She paid the man, relived she had gotten a fair price. They met with Rafe who had the horses waiting with him. Hel secured the supplies on each of the horses.

So far Hel had made most of the decisions. She felt like she needed to at least give the others a chance at giving this quest some direction. Looking back at Rebecca, Hel replied, "You decide this one."

“Well, you are the mage,” she sticks her tongue out playfully then considers the problem at hand. It was a dangerous challenge of course but a steel dragon was tough enough. Fang was about the size of a war horse, a little bigger and spat molten iron.

“Do you know any enchantments against fire? And armor is essentially useless against hem, at least metal ones but given our team I don't think it will be a problem. My katana will cleave through the scales so unless you have an enchanted blade Rafe all you'll do is annoy it so you'd need to focus on the softer under belly, the insides of his mouth and his eyes of course.”

She began mulling over her options. Aegir let the two play a little for while longer. He would let them plan. Fang wasn't an ancient dragon of course but it was tough of course. The three of them would have their work cut out for them.

So far Aegir allowed them to plan unhindered.

She made a face back at her sister before talking. "I know a couple ice spells. Those might work."

Hel climbed onto her horse and spoke to the two, "Let's set up camp on the road, I don't want a repeat of the tavern." The young assistant hoped this plan would work. This was their last hope.

Rebecca nods then travels on with her sister after mounting up. Their pace is slow right now as Rebecca speaks to her sister.

“If you have any offensive spells based on cold hat could help too. Anything that can corrode metal works to slow it down and make it weaker.''

Rebecca thinks on what she's read. “It's stomach is like a furnace and claws and fangs can pass through metal it seems with the barest of thoughts on the matter.”

They travel on moving slower as they discussed matters. They would pick up speed once they had finished with their discussion establishing a campsite along the road to keep ahead of Eclipse to avoid any conflict.

"This looks like a good spot," Hel said as they slowed near a small clearing next to a stream. She dismounted her horse and set the supplies on the ground.

She started to set up a tent. "Can you guys help? Rafe, get a fire started. Rebecca, can you help me?"

They were still in the protection of the King apparently though after leaving the village some time back the area became more wild though the road had been maintained. Far to the South had been a distant city though the further south they went the less patrols and by contrast the more dangers.

“Right.” Rafe begins to gather wood for a fire. He had only a few offensive spells most being healing and defensive in nature but he could produce a flame not that he didn't know how to set a fire from back in his bandit days there was less of a point doing things lie that now.

“Sure thing,” Rebecca dismounts with a smile gathering up the horse and tying up their reins before looking over the campsite they chose. She begins helping with the tent.

“You sure that the three of us can handle this? I'm up for this without a doubt, it was my idea after all but I'm the only real offense we'll have.”

"We'll be fine if we have these," Hel pats the bow and arrows she purchased earlier. " I just cast a ice spell on them and then BAM! Right in the eyes!" She made exaggerated movements to match her speech. They finished pitching the tent and Hel decides to go bathe.

"Do you want to join me, sis? It's gonna be awhile before we can do this again."

“So you do have some offensive magic, excellent. And the eyes are one of the vulnerable areas so that's a great target, just don't hit me by mistake since I'll have to be close and have it's attention.”

She smiled though she had considered her sisters earlier offer. Someone should stand watch even though this was the King's road and it was fairly well maintained didn't mean that they were perfectly safe.

“Tempting but I'll bathe in the morning before we head out. Of course, you know who would take you up on that offer ...”

Rafe. He had managed to collect the loose fire wood that should get them through the early parts of the evening. He still had to gather more but had been returning to the campsite with an armload of wood that he had been gathering.

From the silence at his return the girls must have been speaking about him ...
