Lily used her powers of lucidity in this dream to turn the blade of her sword to silver. She raised Aegis to her defense. Unfortunately it was not the true Aegis, so instead of turning her enemies to stone it only emanated an aura of pure dread.

Creatures began to appear in doorways and in alleys. There were a lot of them and they had been surrounded easily enough. It had appeared that the creatures had waited until they had them like this and she witnessed Lily's blade under .a transformation and tries doing the sane by bringing a band of spiked silver around one end of the staff,

It glows with the soft white light that surrounds the tip of the weapon. She chants surrounding three sides of her with a horse shoe shaped ring of flame, the heat cool on one side but sweltering

The Spawn shrink back, at least initially then come forth. Than goes in from the one side open to them. A large Spawn chants briefly warming the holy symbol that Slate is holding until it is red hot and he has to discard it from his grasp once he does so some Spawn rush in while others emerge at other points, flames licking their bodies as they move forth to get at them with grim determination.

Lily flew into action, striking down one vampire after another to protect the group. Normally all it took was decapitation, but since she had a blade of silver, she could dust (kill) the vampires by hitting them anywhere. (Silver isn't just good against werewolves y'know.)

The Spawn that braved the fire had been a surprise that she recovered from quickly though it seemed that magical flame was effective and thus she unloaded with her staff striking Spawn that were close by and she launching beams of fiery death against the others.

So far so good and with having the worse luck amongst the group and doing fairly well for herself this had to be a synch for the others in her little group.

The Spawn kept coming as if there were no end to them. Lily delivering fatal blow after blow to the Spawn with her sword. The silver, a softer metal, needed more maintenance though the entire blade need not be silver and just that cutting edge.

Izumi added to the kill total with her magical flames for these things were susceptible to death that way. Others exploded as Marson shot them with crossbow bolts that were either blessed or magical she guessed. Even slate seemed to smash down those that grew too close for comfort.

He primarily used his Blessings to enhance their defenses and resistances against attacks. Early on he had to bestow temporary magical ability the the huge ax that Clyde used as he was the only one that could not harm the Spawn though he could drive them back. Though as the steady stream of Spawn slows to a trickle something flies through the wall of flame unharmed by the fires give it's stone-like body.

And it's target … who else but Izumi. The Gargoyle was determined and was about the size of a many, arms ending in claws, the head of a lion and wings of a bat.

Lily saw it just as it came through the wall of fire. Acting on instinct, Lily tackled her friend to the ground, holding her sword upwards in an attempt to make the monster impale itself on her sword. Of course, she had no clue it was made of stone, but she could only hope it would work. (Considering any well-made sword can break a statue...)

Her luck was not bad but it was not as blessed as the others so it was no surprise that all manners of bad things would happen to her first. She would not have been able to react in time to save herself though Lily knocks her prone as the creature sails over her, whether it was going to rip into her with those claws or try to carry her off through the wall of fire which she was thankful not to experience though it seemed survival given that the Spawn had been moving through it though it left them in dire straights afterward it seemed.

“T-Thanks, I owe you!”

The gargoyle was going to wrap up the girl and continue on it's flight path and through the opposite side and hence through some of that flame though the blond knocked her brown.

The creature was slow witted but sensible enough, especially as the sword thrust up at it from below using his own forward momentum left a jagged grove against his chest. Either he was entirely stone or she did not penetrate the stone exterior enough though he continued on victimless as he disappeared through the fiery curtain on the opposite side of that horseshoe shaped wall.

Hurt, with his initial plan a failure and the Spawn of the villagers dealt with it once again grew quiet.

"I think it's safe for now," Lily said. "Let's get through here quickly before we're attacked again."

“Agreed,” Izumi stated as she got up dispelling the wall of fire. There were so many piles of ash here … she continues on as they move through the remainder of the village.

“Next is the castle,” Slate pointed in the direction they needed to go in. “It's not too far from here.”

An underground castle had been set up here though they had some time to figure out how they were going to approach this.

“So how do we get in?” Clyde asked. “Just bull our way through the front gate?”

“Well when I was here last we snuck into it taking a wagon up from this village, disguised as Spawn and once we were well inside we butchered everything until we got to the basement and found the passage further down.”

Marson sighed. “Ceaseless fighting. I could scale the walls too and kill the sentries then open the gates so we can sneak inside.”

“Sneak? I don't sneak so well.”

Marson sighed. “I guess not. Unless either of you have any ideas? Wizard can you do anything about make him quite or us invisible?”

Lily looked to Izume. Since this was all a dream, it made sense they could do... anything... Maybe they could even skip all this?

She had been thinking about what she could do in the waking word. Bit while awake she never could wielded fire magic so well. The question catches her off guard. “Um, ah ...” she thinks, this is a dream, and while one of these creatures are tampering with it she should be able to do anything if not impeded by whoever is altering her dream.

“I have a spell though I'm not sure it will work … it's a bit draining … really draining … there's great risk with it and uh my Master taught it to me a uh personal spell that he had researched … I'd need to ah rest at at least a day after casting it so we'd have to find a safe room or ah a place where we could get help at least.”

She had to make up something that made sense and explained why she couldn't do something if she were prevented too so failure wouldn't be a huge disappointment.

Aegir was in complete control here of course. He debated letting the girl's skip ahead a bit to the near end of the dungeon which wouldn't affect his plans any. He had a few things in mind that he could still do and still wanted to do.

Another thing that he had debated was whether or not he was going to make a personal appearance. The memories of his time with Lily had been fresh though he never knew what it was like with Izumi on a physical level though he did fuck with her mind once.

OK, he would allow them to fast forward through the dungeon a bit. Still, he had waited upon them to see just what they decided on doing.
