Hel felt a little guilty for bringing her little sister into this entire dilemma. It was neither Rebecca's nor Rafe's business, but they still helped her. With Eclipse on their trail, she couldn't mess up anymore.

Hel sighed before snuggling closer to Rafe, "Let's hurry tomorrow so we don't have to deal with him. Goodnight, guys."

The girl held him tightly, not wanting to lose the contact between them.

“Agreed.”

The night passes readily enough, Hel snuggling up against Rafe's warmth that had spilled over her, Rafe delighting in that closeness that washed over her.

In the morning they ate a decent breakfast and had a check over their gear before they were on their way once more.

Traveling on they passed over the rolling hills, a slight warm breeze washing over them then nothing as it grows suddenly still. Too still. The only prelude to the monkey Demons appearing in their midst, one moment they were not there and suddenly the pair of creatures had been their appearing in a spray of Abyssal flame, one swiftly bringing a meaty fist don upon the chest of Rafe the other lashing out at Rebecca though neither had forgotten about her, at least for now.

The Demons were resistant to attacks and had some naturally protection against magic so they had deemed that the others were in fact tougher given the situation.

She dropped from her horse, landing in a crouch as the animal bolted away. At the last possible moment she had eluded the attack meant to take off her head as if she had been uncanny against such things. Rafe had been in trouble it seemed as one of the monkey Demons attacked in mass.

They were strong but the fact that they appeared out of nothingness indicated that they had been magically summoned and thus would be returned from whence they came if they lasted long enough that was ...

Hel rushed to Rafe, hoping the simian didn't inflict major damage to him. She hovered over him, muttering a small incantation and the injury began to heal. She stood up and took the sword from Rafe's sheath, and turned to the pair of monkeys.

She slashed and hacked at the beast, managing a few good jabs in.

Rebecca faced one of the simian demons, the massive creature seemed to waste no time in attacking her though she did he best to avoid contact with it, knowing full well that it was stronger she darted in and out, a slash here. One there as she kept herself moving as she springs in and out of it's reach.

Rafe was not too injured thankfully though there was a slash mark down the front of his leather armor. The little damage he had received had been healed though his sword had been taken.

Hel landed in some good blows but she like Rebecca learned that the wounds she gave to the creature had closed near instantly. The blades lacked an enchantment of any sort and the demons had been unharmed by them. Each chortled as they pressed in or Teleported from one spot to another. They were very maneuverable.

They were easy to hit only because they were not trying to evade once they realized that the attacks were not harming them. Then the one that had been pressing in on Hel erupted in a scream as Rafe called down a pillar of Divine flame. While it resisted some of the fire damage some of this Divine flame was radiant energy that seared the demon.

“Our weapons aren't working! Both of you try moving closer to me!” Rafe commanded. He hoped this was a spell effect that had summoned the pair though either way the bandit turned priest had a incantation that might help if they all got close enough together.

Hel stumbled backwards as the monkey closed in on her to strike back, then it was engulfed in flames from on of Rafe's spells.

She scrambled to Rafe's side, hoping what he was going to plan worked.

She dashes forward, slashing at one of the monkey demons to little effect before springing back closer to her sister and Rafe himself. There was little she could do unless she got her weapon temporarily imbued with magic for the wounds that she delivered upon the demon healed swiftly showing that they had no effect at all.

“I hope you're not just making it easy for the demons to sandwich us between them, Rafe.” She was guarded, the point of her katana out as her eyes had been focused on her supernatural opponent.

When the girls moved closer to him Rafe acted. There were some fundamental things he knew about spells and he had hoped that knowledge would pay off as he cast a Protection from Evil spell that radiated out from him.

There had been three key things the spell did. One it prevented the protected from being possessed while the spell had been in effect, their defenses against evil creatures get better as well as evil spells and hedges out all summoned creatures.

With the spell cast the demons are unable to approach and seem baffled for a moment before gathering up heavy objects to hurl at them.

“Hel, your up,” and Rafe was really hoping that she had a defense in mind now against the frustrated demons. It shouldn't be long, as summoned creatures the demons were going to wink out of existence soon Rafe hoped ...

"This better work, Rafe!" Hel shouted as she cast a small shielding spell to protect the trio from the monkeys' barrage of rocks. A thin pink bubble encompassed them and held against the various debris the beasts threw.

The shower stopped and Hel let the field down. She grabbed the hilt of her sword and looks to her sister, who is anticipating for more battle.

"Rebecca! Now!"

Her sword carries no enchantment though the demons cannot hurt them it seems. With Rafe's spell they cannot approach and Hel's deflects the debris the pair toss at them. Still, she is able to do stuff and can hinder the demons so when her sister speaks she dashes forward, making a diagonal slash at one of their chests hoping to bluff it into reacting, or dodging on instinct as she wedges a foot in between the legs of the demon and behind on in an effort to trip in up.

She surmises if it has to spend time recovering then maybe more time would pass and the others could figure something out where they could go on the offensive. Hopefully she can dash back to that protective circle already planning on striking out against the other one in a harassing cut, a slash to the brow, while it would heal quick enough may blind it temporarily with it's own blood.

But the demon had already learned that there was nothing to fear from the attack and thus did not pull away, instead in merely Teleported behind her so that when Rebecca went to spring back she ran right into in as it was now positioned between her and the protective aura Rafe had emitting from himself.

It grabs her and in a blink of an eye vanishes yet again, it grappling Rebecca meant that Rafe was unable to use his holy fire without endangering her though he whips up some spiritual energy that takes the form of a translucent blue mace that strikes the creature's shoulder before the creature vanishes, with Rebecca, blood spraying from the wound.

The other demon Teleports away as well seeing that at the moment it's attacks are ineffective. It lets out a shrill grunt before going, the pair is close though, returning to their summoner who had not been too far away.

The spell nearly dissolved, Caius nods seeing the captive. “Be alert men,” he says to the human thugs that Eclipse has gathered expecting the other two to join Rebecca soon enough as he approaches the girl caressing her cheek as he grins. “I will be a little indisposed for the time being ...”

Hel turned and saw the beast make off with her sister. She screamed, and fell to the blood spattered spot where Rebecca was a few moments ago.

"No, no, no, no!" The girl hits the ground with her fists. "Rafe, where is she?!"

One of the demons grappled her securely and she squirmed in the grasp of the creature, her katana fell from her grasp to the ground though she draws her hidden tanto, the blade piercing the eye of the creature and while it was not enchanted the weapon itself was fashioned from cold iron, a substance that Fae and some Demons were vulnerable too.

Wriggling at the same time to get free of that grasp if she could.

His guess was that they were close, a summoning spell had a sort range for the most part though the Demons could have gone anywhere he imagined that they had gone back closer to the caster.

“She's still close,” though that was an educated guess. He looked around, where would he be hiding if he set an ambush for them? Certainly some place that he could see the road so he could see the road.

“There!” He pointed as he began to rush to a spot.

There was a howl coming from that area at the same time Rafe pointed it out and the howl was probably the reason why as the first monkey demon released Rebecca to the ground, the second grabbing her arms and drawing them above her head, squeezing them until she drops the tanto. Claudius moves over to Rebecca stroking her cheek as he grins, already sporting a thick erection that forms at the front of his robes.
