Lily didn't like her chances against the wizard and guards. Being invisible, she thought she and Izumi would stand a better chance picking off the guards escorting the prisoners. But then again, there was always the option for the two of them to escappe and bring this story to a close so that Aegir would have to come up with a new one next time.

Izumi felt around until she made contact with Lily and slipped her hand in her own. Leaning closer she whispered.

“I think he's a wizard and if he's hidden I suspect there are either other hidden guards here or those to are really good. I don't think I'd be able to keep us invisible once we attack, I don't think I can maintain it when casting another spell.

“The other guys might be easier to deal with. They seem to have a wide range of equipment and not all on the same page so militia maybe … the prisoners are going to the dungeons I think maybe even the dungeon we just came out of.”

Shortly after the guards and prisoner leave a priest enters the room from a secret panel set into the wall and closes the passage behind him as he nears the Prince.

“Your Highness, two of the subjects have completed the dungeons. Have they been past this way yet?”

He looked concerned especially since there were no guards or locks on that final door as he would have liked but the Prince seemed unconcerned about these things.

“No, they have not. You told me none could complete the challenges.”

“Forgive me my Lord.”

That settled it. Time to leave. Lily tugged Izumi in the direction the prisoners had gone. Maybe freeing them would earn them some reward from Aegir.

She's pull along, the arrival of the priest revealing that he had been aware that they had escaped at least. Had he been monitoring then? Had he lost track of them? She did not need to find out as she allowed herself to be drawn away.

Aegir allowed the two to do as they wished with little guidance in the matter as he manipulated the dream. It had mattered little in the long run what they decided on for he had no end of such materials.

Following what they believed had been the militia they follow the six who enveloped the two tied up prisoners that they kept in the heart of their number. An older man in his mid to late 40's. The other prisoner was a younger man about the age of the Prince. Each wore green clothes of various green hues and had brown gloves and boots.

Occasion ally they passed servants and the like but no other guards until they came to a sealed door where there was a guard there that halted the six and began questioning them before opening up the locked door to let them through after they had mentioned that the prisoners were poachers and had to be disposed of.

Sneaking beyond the door was easy with them being invisible where they cane into an empty chamber with a swirling multi colored portal that they were getting ready to force the men through.

Lily drew her sword silently, approaching one of the guards from behind once they arrived in fthe portal room. In the blink of an eye, she stabbed the man through his chest, killing him with a single blow.

Lily becomes visible with her attack as does Izumi taking care of one of the men at the sides with a sheet of flame. Surprise, should with luck, let them take out anther two before the others got to act.

One soldier run through, another incinerated the younger prisoner is just as surprised as the guards though the older one seems to assess the situation in the blink of an eye slipping his manacled arms around the neck of the guard in front of him pulling him back against his chest he can use him as a shield against the attacks of others.

The girls are able to dispatch two more guards and with the one strangled by the prisoner and discarded the last upon turning about and recovering his wits drops his weapon and tosses up his arms.

“Don't kill me!”

The younger man gives him a chop to the back of his neck to knock him out.

“Cyril, keys,” the elder calls out and the younger begins looking, sees them then begins to undue their manacles.

“Did the Queen send you?” The elder asks.

"Queen?" Lily asked. "No, we just escaped from the dungeon. We thought we should help you guys out to spare you from what we just went through," she explained. She sheathed her sword and began checking the guards for something she could use.

“Yeah, we had a good sized group too but the others didn't make it and there was going to be no way that the two of you were going to survive that.” She watches out for additional guards as Lily looks over the guard's stuff.

The guards had the keys to the manacles and a Hodge Podge of weapons. Two of them even had leather armor and Lily finds some money one the majority of them. Silver coins, about fifty though she doesn't have the luxury of counting each as they are somewhat pressed for time.

“Really … well thank you both but we should go before others discover us. These were only militia after all, the palace guards are better skilled. You're free to come with us to the camp.”

“But Master!” The young man, who had been checking out Izumi snaps.

“It will be fine, I'm sure they are not in league with the Prince.”

"Actually we had a chance to kill him earlier. We picked you guys over an assassination. Saving two guys is easier than killing a well-guarded bastard," Lily said as she pocketed the money she found. She hoped it would be worth something in this dream world.

She didn't really care much for the younger man watching her for whatever reason if he were attracted to her or not had not mattered as she was not into men though she supposed he was handsome enough. For now she allowed Lily to speak as there was nothing further that she needed to add at the moment.

“Oh, it is a good think that you didn't young Miss. I'll explain later. Come.” Sadly there was no time for introductions. Whoever the man was he knew his way about the castle and they had moved through a secret passage or two before he led them to one that lead out of the castle, an escape route for the nobility perhaps.

Once outside the castle he lead them onward.

As they walked he spoke to the two girls. “This is Cyril my aid. My grandson has fallen under a curse. He has been possessed and has become rather sadistic. His mother, my daughter had been imprisoned but loyal aides under my order helped her escape. We, Cyril and I, were picked up in the forest gather food for the resistance. I am King Emir and appreciate your service.”

“Sire -”

“Don't fret, Cyril. I'm sure they would have figured it out eventually a younger version of my portrait are on the coins they recovered. If you two are interested there may be work for you.”
