Background:
Born in San Diego, California, much of her life was quite simplistic. Raised to be civic minded, Shannon did a lot of school oriented volunteer work. When she graduated high school, she was recruited into the US Marine Corps. There she was a highly active young recruit, driven to consistently excel, which garnered her mixture of admiration by some and resentment by others.

Oft she was sent out with her unit along with others to quash rebellious insurgent incursions. Ever the ambitious go-getter, her unit was often among one of the most efficient with herself as its figurehead and captain. For good or bad it got her quite a bit of notice by her commanding officers.

One has to wonder whether it was one of her commanders who liked her or hated her to submit her name for recruitment into the covert agency the Alien Defense Directorate. However, when the possibility was sold to her as being part of an elite organization to stave off the extraterrestrial hordes from invading Earth, she jumped at the chance.

Now a veteran agent, she is not quite as naivete as she once was, yet the core of the cause in of itself she still believes in, and her goal remains the same: eliminate the alien threat. However, it does not always work out that way.

Psychological Profile:
Shannon suffers from PTSD, largely from the trauma of those she has not been able to rescue from the sex-crazed alien hordes, slavers, and pirates. On top of the trauma she herself has endured from having lost her virginity by being raped from a monstrous alien during her first mission (of whom she killed by the mission's end). But her mental fortitude is impressive considering outside of combat she appears quite well adjusted. On the other hand, she may be becoming psychopathic from the amount of combat she has experienced, approaching killing in combat quite unsettlingly casually. And while she suppresses the thoughts, she does become aroused unconsciously from an unrealized rape fetish, either as the assailant or victim.

Personality:
Taciturn and serious-minded. Ever the true believer of a cause and proud soldier through and through, she is quite unwavering when it comes to attempting to accomplish her mission, even when it has become an impossibility. In her mind, service to the cause and her people takes precedent over all else. Albeit, while she has her vulnerabilities, she is quite determined not to show them as she firmly believes in maintaining a strong front for the purpose of morale, especially in front of younger agents. Exceptionally proud, she tries her earnest to maintain a strong, confident, elegant composure, but everyone has their breaking point and she knows she has hers, leading her to strive all the harder to keep her equanimity.

Likes:
She has a major sweet-tooth for anything strawberry and/or watermelon, and secretly will bake herself a cake of either kind. Also she is an immense collector of plushy toys, she has the little stuffed animals covered all over her quarters, which she is quite guarded about allowing anyone to see.

Activities:
Shannon is practically religious when it comes to daily routines of exercise, obsessed with maintaining her athletic figure and keeping in shape. Unless on a mission, it is not a surprise to see her working out in the gym. Lending further to athleticism she enjoys gymnastics, often practicing and training in acrobatic routines, but also simply enjoys being a spectator. The same also holds true for surfing, which was something she did very often while living in San Diego, especially when she was stationed in Camp Pendleton for a time. Though it is something she seldom gets to do anymore, she still follows the sport avidly. Then of course, there are the several modeling pictorials she has done for for military magazines, which seems to contradict her proud, taciturn, serious disposition, but in truth it is a fun hobby she enjoys, though she often passes it off as merely seeking to boost morale for the troops.

Miscellaneous: Though they had long since broken up, Shannon still wears the white gold ring given to her by the first girl she had fallen in love with. She has never told the other women she has dated the truth behind the ring.

Equipment: Her X-23 Power Suit, several various plasma/laser rifles, handguns, many combat knives, and a few laser edged swords. Stored in her ship's armory.
Fighting style: She is a melee and hand to hand combat expert as well as an accomplished marksman with small arms. When the situation allows it, when donning her power suit, she proves to be an accomplished power suit operator as well.

Special Attributes:
Her power suit can carry her pack and other survival essential. Combat wise when when her energy weapons (rifles, handguns, or sword) are connected to the power suit, it provides its own energy source so she does not have to use her energy cartridge reserves for her weapons. It also serves as a strength amplifier for melee combat. It has a plasma booster pack, which enables long-range jumps and limited short-range flight. With its helmet, it also enables her to walk the surface of some otherwise unbreathable atmospheres for humans.

Weaknesses:
Her power suit's energy sources is good for at best three hours running on its own power source. And it is not always practical to utilize, especially in more clandestine and stealthy operations. And even with all her elite training, in the end, she is still only human possessing all the vulnerabilities every human shares.

Ship:
ZX-431 Scout Ship, has two dual anti-spacefighter laser cannons and a twenty payload homing concussion missile launcher for its arsenal. Aside from the cockpit with pilot, co-pilot, and gunner and an armory, inside is a small command/briefing room, and two shared crew quarters able to support four crew members each, and lastly a small kitchen/mess room. While the ship can man up to 8 crew/passengers, it can--with some difficulty, be piloted and operated entirely by one person designed to accommodate a single scout on long range missions, which Shannon often fits that bill.
