“Yes, thank you,” the human relayed. The others landed on that ledge, Ailwin and Ikeisha keeping and eye out as they allowed their Princess to do the speaking.

“I am grateful but need to get going.”

¨where are you going human mage? to adress a princess as such?¨sapphire had no fear since this part of they're kingdom still.

“Princess!” He was surprised by this dropping immediately to a knee and bowing his head. The question poised to him the man answered. He looked to be about middle aged by the salt and peppered beard that he sported. His attire was both simple and expensive looking indicating that he was well off. Perhaps upper middle class or lower rich.

“Forgive me your Majesty. I am heading to Tempest, Sivak specifically,” Sivak, it was the capital of Tempest higher up in the mountains.

¨the dragon men kingdom?¨ sapphire wonderd.

“Yes, I am bound to go there but have met with all sorts of obstacles and am running out of time,” he looked up, still kneeling though it was unclear as to what he meant.

“Well, he isn't going back now,” Ailwin mumbled considering the damage done to the ledge that he had glanced to. The humans were further down and he had wondered what would cause one to brave these dangers to get up this high though there was still some distance to go still.

¨shall we take him with us? we are going there two and more help couldn't hurt right?¨

“There is that,” Ikeisha announced.

“He will slow us down. He has to stick to the ledge and made slow winding process while we could just fly onward and upward with ease,” Ailwin pointed up.

“Your call, Princess,” Ikeisha added. They had not been under any sort of pressure or time constraint yet any way ...

¨its not they are expecting us. time dosnt seem an issue here and if it becomes so we can always carry him.¨

“Carry,” Ailwin was more the bookworm sort and not very strong. The girls were stronger than he though if it were the Princess' order he would comply with it.

“I beg your pardon but time is of the essence,” the man stated. "In three days they will sacrifice my daughter during the solar eclipse.”

sapphire nods and picks him up.¨that explains why they stole the orb lets move full speed!¨sapphire takes off as fast as she can.

“HUH!” The man is gripped beneath the arms and they continue upward and onward. It gets a bit chilly for the human at least and Ikeisha using an incantation to protect him from the elements seeing that they as Avariel were use to the dip in the temperature at this altitude.

When they next landed for a rest in was Ailwin that spoke up. “Your Majesty, we're coming up to the border soon. From my understanding we have another three ledges up. By the fourth we shall be encountering the Gargoyles that share the Kingdom with the Dragon-Men.”

¨what do you recommend? im open to suggestions.¨

The Priestess had a little experience of leading during holy wars though that had been ages ago. She probably had the greatest experience of them all though Ailwin had a better understanding of the magical creations.

“The Gargoyles do not have the same senses as their masters. Their greatest strength is thew ability to camouflage in with the terrain and remain motionless like statues … that and their resistance to all but enchanted attacks. Their vision is great though their other senses less than average … a simple Invisibility spell could get us by them.”

¨then make it so and lets get going.we are loseing time!¨

Ailwin nodded casting an Invisibility effect over them. “Stay close,” he stated though they could all see one another it was due to the fact that they were all blanketed by the same spell. “Go further then ten feet from me and the invisibility will be dispelled. Take any hostile action and the entire spell will be shattered.”

He explained this before they headed out. Three ledges up there were guard posts every fifty yards or so with other Avariel that served to protect the boards. Likewise on the ledge up from there had been numerous Gargoyles protecting the boarders into Tempest.

Borders weren't assigned on the horizontal plane but rather the vertical one.

“There are series of caves and of course the main part of Tempest that comprises of the floating island, where should we focus our investigation or are we heading straight to Sivak?”
