Kanoe was not sure who she was expecting but with a name like Karen, she was not expecting a German woman in dirty overalls. As expected of anyone finding a stranger knocking at her door, the witch was asked to identify herself.

"Karen, correct? My name is Kanoe," she began, "I apologize for bothering you but had a recent... encounter with a Prefect named Daphnee. I heard you two were roommates. I... I do not know who else to talk to so I came here." The witch was not sure what else to say. Would Karen care? Would mentioning Daphnee earn her a slammed door to the face? Kanoe had no clue what to expect from this student. If Karen had stolen the puppet, then Karen would no doubt have a grudge against the Prefect. With both going through similar hardships, perhaps that could get her closer to the woman?

Karen had been confused as to who this student was sticking with girls in her class for the most part. The name was familiar though, perhaps someone mentioned it before or they might have passed her by when she was not paying too much attention to the matter.

She could be wrong though that didn't truly matter as she searched her mind and came up empty in recognition or stories she may have heard though forgotten. Her gaze did narrow at the mention of Daphnee's name though it did make a degree of sense to her that if she ran a foul of Daphnee seeking her out for some dirt might make sense seeing that they were roomies after all for their first year.

After a moment she relaxed and opened the door a little more. “Yeah, I know Little Miss Perfect,” she said sounding sarcastic as she gestured her in to the dorm. She was getting ready to head to the green house but her interests in messing with Daphnee were fairly strong to and she was curious as to what this was all about.

“Come in, don't mind the mess.” The place wasn't so much as messy but it was cluttered with various potted plants, some grown from seeds and some from the wilds which were larger than most of the others. “So, you had a touch of misfortune recently?”

"You could say that..." Kanoe replied as she entered the room and looked around a bit before finding a place to sit that was hopefully not dirty, "I... I don't know what I expected coming here. But I figured I would feel better after seeing someone who had to deal with her in the past. She did things to me that I will not go into detail about."

"But... How do you deal with her?" she asked, "I mean, you are still here. Does she leave you alone now? How do you move on from something like that?" Her eyes would casually scan the room, searching for anything that could lead her towards the puppet. It was possible it was not here at all and the culprit was someone else entirely. But, this was the only lead the Prefect provided. If this ends up being a dead end, Kanoe would have nothing more to follow.

“It's her nature and timing I believe,” Karen would elaborate a bit. “When she was my roommate she was a nobody. She strives to do her best and all that crap, probably to get attention. But she is not vengeful. She might not like you but she won't go after you without a legit reason. I do not know if she would trump up charges but when she left we rarely see one another and she hasn't tried to bring up old events.”

Karen grinned as she sat down. “Of course there are always other elements that you can exploit. I do not know how effective they would be but while I was living with her her dolls were particularly vulnerable. She had too many of the damn things if you asked me.”

Looking about there had not been anything too unusual that jumped out at her, save for perhaps the obvious love that Karen had for plants, ironic comparisons between plants and dolls could have been made though it was probably unlikely that the place was so littered while Daphnee was here given that Karen was enjoying having the extra space to fill with plants, at least until she was assigned another roommate.

She was on topic about the dolls though and that made it a little easier to brooch matters. There had been no incriminating evidence here though as far as she could see.

“With her position now it's tough to get at her, I imagine. You couldn't do anything obvious or suspicious but I can think of a few things. I suspect she's carrying on with something scandalous … she talks in her sleep from time to time. Of course, most would probably think it gibberish but I understand German.”

The witch could not confirm whether Daphnee did talk in her sleep or not. Kanoe had enough trouble remembering anything before blacking out last night. But the mention of the dolls may be the only opportunity to speak about the topic. "Her dolls? What do you mean?" Kanoe asked. She crossed her legs though it was more due to how short the skirts were in this school. If she could get nothing further on the topic, her options on how to keep going with this suspect would become very limited. The witch would have no choice but to come back empty handed to the Prefect.

There was nothing unusual yet. Karen knew that Daphnee had trouble making friends and there were the places she had dragged the Prefect off to when everyone bailed on her only to ditch the girl at the first opportunity. She saw her talking to that blond at a party some time ago before she was a Prefect but didn't think that that meant much as far as she could tell for she didn't pay too much attention to Daphnee by that faulty logic she didn't believe she had made any friends but did not pay close attention so she wouldn't have really known. Another snap decision on her part.

“Dolls … well not Barbie, though Barbie ironically came out of an idea of seeing a doll of similar nature in a German sex shop.” Whether that was true or not did not actually matter. Karen moved on rather quickly. “They were ventriloquist dolls. She had over twenty of them, some looked pretty ratty.

“But they meant a great deal to her, probably her only friends,” she snorted and shook her head. “I suppose they're like children to her in a way, she would protect them … would you care for a drink?” Karen asked standing up as she did so. She figured a drink would go nicely with the scandalous gossip she had given what she heard Daphnee mumbling about in her sleep. Again, she had assumed a few things.

She did not have much care for the off topic quips Karen added. Kanoe was here on a task. The rest was irrelevant information. "Yes, please," the witch would accept the offered drink. "That is a lot of dolls. What do they look like?" Hopefully the question would hint to the witch never being inside Daphnee's room. Of course, that was a lie. She just wanted to provide opportunities for Karen to show a doll if she has one, a chance to flaunt her trophy. What the Prefect said in her sleep was far less important.

After listing off the drinks she had available she gets Kanoe her preferred choice having a juice herself. The question comes to her though she thinks little of it, apparently unconcerned with the Prefect poking around.

“Oh, most are of humans like that ancient Howdy Dowdy doll. I'm guessing she makes them herself since there are some that no one in their right mind would shelf out money for. Obvious flaws in the wood, bad paint jobs where the paint is lumpy in places and not smooth -” Karen paused and seemed to consider.

“The clothes are sewn wrong … one sleeve shorter than the other or such. I could show you one of them. When she moved out I suspect that one of her boxes had been left by mistake. The bitch probably took one of mine and considering what she had left behind I doubt it was a mistake and done on purpose but I rather just be rid of her then cause an issue by dealing with her again.”

That wasn't totally true. Hi, I think you have my sex toys, it would have been embarrassing to bring up. She figured that Daphnee probably recognized the mistake by now or did it on purpose as she highly suspected.

“But I'm afraid I don't have the time to do that today.” She had seemed to indicate that the doll had not been here though she knew where it was or something similar to it somewhere on campus, perhaps the theater. “Does tomorrow work for you, provided you wish to see what I mean.”

This girl sure loved to talk, Kanoe thought. The witch was starting to get a headache from listening to this one and trying to sift through the nonsense for actual useful information. She did say this to Daphnee before, she does not do well with others. Why was she here again? Puppets and removing demerits?

"I guess," Kanoe replied, "I can come back tomorrow. Never seen dolls like that before." She feigned interest in seeing the dummy if only to get evidence. Karen did admit to having access to one so evidence was definitely pointing to her being the culprit. But, Daphnee will probably want physical proof. Just one more day with this woman then Kaneo can be done with this matter finally.

"Thank you for your time, Karen," Kanoe said softly, "It really helped..." The witch finished her water and rose to her feet. She would head for the door and let herself out if Karen chose not to follow. The witch was not scheduled for another meeting with Daphnee so she would return to her dorm room to have some time to herself. She would return to Karen's room after class tomorrow. Hopefully, she would find answers then.

Answers would come the following day. Without an imminent meeting set up with the Prefect she was able to get some rest. The next day when she had returned Karen was dressed in similar fashion as she was the day before though this time she was not heading out to the green house but rather waiting for the witch to show back up after having arranged a time with her the day before.

They actually left the campus, Karen kept saying things like it wasn't far though it wasn't something as close as the art department or a shoe box kept beneath her bed. Though it was within five minutes or so of the campus off a beaten path.

Pointing to a tree Karen grinned. “It's over there, my little sign post,” not that she had needed it as a landmark any further though as they drew near Kanoe could see an old wooden doll with fades paint here and there when it was not chipped.

It was strung up to the tree by wire and there was no telling how long it had been exposed to the elements though it had a rank smell to it from being out in the rain along with some fungus growing on it in places. It certainly needed to be cleaned up and the arm was outstretched to one side held in place by wire. It looked as if it were pointing in a direction with it's wrist seeing that the hand was flopped over so that that it's fingers were pointed down at the ground.

“There it is, similar to this one here,” Karen stated as they drew closer to it, glancing toward Kanoe as they arrived at it.

Kanoe met up with Karen around the same time as yesterday. Surprisingly, the hidden location was outside and reasonably far from campus. The student kept reassuring her that it was not much further though the witch never voiced any complaints. A few minutes of walking led the witch to a putty that was tied to a tree. Rather harsh thing to do to an inanimate doll. Karen must truly despise this Prefect and former roommate.

The witch looked at the doll, she would have to leave it here and pass along the information. The doll was pointing in a direction and Karen hinted that there was another. Was it in worse shape? There was nothing Kanoe could do about a damaged doll. But, it would give Daphnee the evidence she required.

"I see..." Kanoe replied as she continued to follow, "Is the other doll in even worse shape?"

Indeed the pair did not like one another though such malice was not openly displayed toward one another. Daphnee did not know about the doll as best as she gathered and for a while it sat their doing nothing at least until she was hit with an idea. She had figured or nay have hoped Daphnee might find it if investigating other matters … she had always assumed that Daphnee would find it eventually, probably even figure that it was her that did it too but would have no real proof.

But she was playing with fire her as a Prefect didn't really need proof and there was no telling what Daphnee would do finding one of her “children” in such a sorry state.

“Oh, this is the only one I had,” Karen approached the sorry excuse of a doll, which needed plenty of work before being exposed to the elements. It had pointed out the way to a nefarious place that had been cleaned of any proof that she was operating there once upon a time an area she knew so well she no longer needed the land mark as a reference to find the spot not that she went there any longer.

“The older dolls she had were like this one. Rest in peace, Lenny,” she smirked at the thing that was hanging there and that was all the proof that Kanoe needed that this was in fact the doll in question. Karen had a big mouth, likely that it had got her in trouble in the past or would in the future.

“In fact this was one of her's. She left it and for a while it sat there, I assumed she forgot about it. Oddly, it wasn't too much better than this before it was exposed. Quite frankly I don't know why she didn't toss it so I opted to do it for her. I haven't seen it in ages though, this must be the first time I've been out here in three months.

“It's nothing special don't you think? Clearly nothing you would find for sale in a store. I actually am going out that way,” she pointed. She had a few things to take care of, plant related of course, though she wasn't too interested in sticking around here looking at, well, this excuse of a doll and if there was nothing further she would head out leaving her after orientating her in the direction of the path that they had been on until the last two or three minutes if she was asked. It was simple enough though so she had not supplied that information as much as she seemed to enjoy hearing herself talk.

So this was it... Kanoe stared at the doll for a bit before she watched Karen head out in the direction of the store. "No, I think I will head back to the dorms," the witch replied, "Thank you for showing me this." This was to Kanoe's benefit though Karen will no doubt know who told on her if Daphnee immediately reacted to this information.

She would leave the doll there to avoid drawing any more attention to herself. There was nothing more Kanoe needed to investigate. She would wait till Daphnee was available before approaching the Prefect. "Your doll is tied to a tree in the forest," Kanoe said bluntly, "Karen left it out there for some time now." The student provided directions but there was not much to say beyond that. Kanoe could understand reacting to having her prized possessions mishandled in such a way. But this was still a Prefect who worked for the school and sought to punish and correct her. The witch showed little sympathy. This was something she was ordered to do after all. What happens to Karen was irrelevant to her. She just wanted her reward.

”Your welcome.” Would she be though? The two parted and Kanoe had reported to Daphnee as soon as she could. It was the Prefect's job to be available to students and once Daphnee had found out that Kanoe was looking for her after missing one anther she had arranged to meet her in her dorm.

She did not have an office after all and managing to get a teacher's lounge or other room last minute had been too much work. “This is rather unexpected … I did not send for you, what is on your mind?”

She had listened. Lenny was out in the jungles? Karen's doing? She had tried remaining calm though was seething. Proof or no proof didn't factor in and while she had wished to race out to Lenny she had to struggle to maintain this poise … it had not occurred to her straight away though, so wrapped up in her own thoughts and how she was planning to retaliate on her former roommate entered into her mind.

The drug … it had been more than a day, had it already had a hold on her? There were things like Heroin that were highly addictive after all but she had to consider the drug as well and so her thoughts shifted back to NICE and the work she was doing.

“You have done well, Miss Shade,” she said at last after analyzing all that information. She had some of the aphrodisiac with her in the event that she had chosen a different location for their next session other than the basement and while there weren't as many toys to play with there were enough she felt to keep Kanoe entertained.

Green eyes gazed over the witch before settling on her eyes. “One black mark removed as promised … but I feel you desire more. I believe that can be arranged Miss Shade, unless of course you are not interested. If so, you know the way to the bedroom I have something to finish up first before joining you.” She had not presumed that Kanoe would go there though it was likely.

She would make a few quick notes about her findings if she had before joining her giving her ample time to look around or undress though she had not relayed anything studying what was done by her own as influenced by that drug to ensure that her notes had quite a bit information for NICE to go on.

There was a yearning for something but Kanoe was not sure what it was. She felt different. It was hard to think of doing anything besides follow orders. Even now, her body was tingling as she had completed her task. The praise felt so good and her sex grew moist as the pleasure filled her.

In the end, this was only worth one black mark. Of course, Kanoe had no clue what a black mark was as far as her record went. "The bedroom?" Kanoe repeated, "How many more of these marks do I have?" It was an important question to ask. The witch had gone this far without any real information about her goal. She needed to know to avoid being stuck doing these tasks forever.

Only when Daphnee gave her answer would she move to the bedroom and wait. She had no clue what was on the agenda this time. The witch could only hope this ends quickly. She felt like she was living in this dorm room after being here so many times recently.
