Vanessa had just been rejected by Vera once more. She had proven herself incompetent to the standards of the head girl, and was dismissed. Rather than returning to her dorm immediately, the crimson-haired girl sat on the side of the beach where she had first met an amazon-figured monster. Ania - that was her name. She was one of the many monsters that had indulged in the redhead. These monsters were able to instill something Vanessa never quite experienced before. It was fear. Fear of being attacked by these vicious monsters, who did not seek to kill, but instead use her to their liking.

Just the thought of it made the crimson-haired girl shiver. She brought her knees up to her chest, curling her arms around it. She squeezed her soft thighs together, hoping to wash away the thoughts of monsters. She looked up to find some sort of distraction. The sun was setting, displaying a beautiful array of warm colors. The sound of gentle waves helped calm the girl down. Maybe she'd sit here and... just think to herself. He hated the leash that Aegir kept him on. Yet he knew that he had all the power. Still he had to check in every month and just to get out of his attention he had taken to the stars all that other time. But he gave his monthly report uncertain of what Aegir was getting from these pointless progress reports. Gersham had never been told anything save for leaving a few girls alone. He couldn't touch Ryu. Nor Alynia though he had a minor hand in the former one time it was a minor role that had been directed at Aegir's guidance.

Leaving the cove at the far end of the beach his wings, often hidden through the ability to make them invisible unfurled, majestic black feathery wings. Flight wasn't the fastest way to get around but it provided him an airborne view and while the girls here could not fight back effectively he found that unwinding after dealing with the octopus.

If she had he would reveal himself straight away though she may have been looking elsewhere at the time, either at the waves or the sky. The waves even masked his touch down a little though in the long run it had not mattered if she noticed straight away or not.

The sound of blown sand had alerted the knight. Though, she knew better than to turn her attention directly towards whatever sound it was. She was on high-alert, but appeared to be unphased at first. Vanessa reached to her side and grabbed a few rocks. She began tossing them into the water, watching the rocks skip across and create small ripples. She would keep a handful of rocks in her hand, listening and patiently waiting for whatever intruder had its eyes on her... though she hoped that it was just her imagination.

He had watched the girl. His third eye allowed him to see throughonly what was true so illusions had been useless as long as he could see with it. It allowed him to see the truth and thus invisible things were seen with it. His other eyes did not possess this gift and while there no illusions or invisibility at work here he noted that she was now armed with rocks.

Either she wished to arm herself without drawing any undue attention or she had not detected him. He had assumed the later as he appraised that busty figure imaging the fun that could be had whether she had been amiccable or not.

He stopped about an arm's length from her. At first he watched the rocks that were thrown wondering briefly what had been on her mind, then dismissing it as irrelevant for his purpose her.

Normally, she'd shrug off such feelings, but any inclination of a monster attack was probably correct. She'd be a little more patient, waiting for the monster, if any, to appear before her. If it didn't approach her soon, then the crimson-haired girl would assume herself to be paranoid and head back to the campus. She crunched the hand with rocks in them. Just by feeling them, she had about five rocks left. Then, she felt it. A claw gently ran across her neck and the voice of a male voice. Silly monster. There aren't any males on this island.

The Knight wouldn't even let the vampire finish his sentence. To avoid the claw, she tossed her head back, headbutting the monster's legs from behind. She then tossed her hands up in a barrage of rocks in hopes to strike the monster's face. Instinct told her to run, and she did. The Knight sprinted off, towards the forest as soon as she released the rocks. Vanessa took deep breaths, making long strides across the forest. She hadn't even seen the monster, but she didn't care. The redhead looked from side to side as trees passed by her. She needed a weapon.

The girl spotted a lone branch ahead of her. Well, that was better than nothing. Vanessa snagged the branch as she ran by it. "Go, go, go..." She mumbled to herself.

Gersham was well aware that she would be immediately tip off at the sound of his voice as that wast to protect his face from her rocks with his forearms.. Expecting an immediate follow up his feathery black wings appeared folding out in front of him as an immediate defense. It was instinct, he fought too much in the arena though the inhibitors were a bit of a disappointment in that the licks he received hardly had any lasting damage.

When his wings pulled back she was already some distance away running towards the forest. He stood, watching her ass as she ran and giving her a head start as he did so. Once she disappeared into the forest so did he invoking his invisibility and flying to the forest though once he was there took to the ground again as the canopy of trees would make it difficult to spot her.

He was not a great tracker though she was not too far ahead and there had been signs of her passing. Keeping to the shadows cast by the trees he stepped between each shadow getting closer by the second.

When he caught up he saw that she had armed herself with a branch. He trailed her long enough for her to suspect that she lost him, though she would still doubt that it was that easy. He maneuvered about her getting in front of her he dropped his invisibility save for the wings still being concealed.

He stepped forth, three eyes, pointed ears and teeth and small claws. He looked human otherwise. “Can you use that?” He pointed toward the branch she had acquired. He did not step closer to her though black miasma sprang up in his right hand shaped like a stone.

He then pitched it at her, the miasma cold and stinging making the muscles numb should they connect. This “dart” had not been intended to hit though as soon as he drew back his hand he had generated another hurling it at her leg and generating a third before either got there though the first was nearly upon her and the second not to far behind it. The third remained in his hand for the moment at least.

Vanessa slowed down a bit when she had thought she lost him. The girl was running out of breath, and needed to take a quick stop either way. She breathed heavily, using her knees as support for her hands while she took a break from running. Sweat trickled down her chin. The athletic girl glanced upwards, noticing something was wrong... She could hear something in front of her. As the monster materialized, the redhead nervously took a step backwards. She growled at the monster when he asked if she could use that. "Screw you, monster!" It was then that she noticed a rock had appeared in his hands. A chill went down her spine as she watched it. She watched, as if in slow motion, for the black orbs to get sent towards her. There was no way a branch would protect her. She dropped her weapon and immediately sidestepped twice, avoiding the first orb then the second one narrowly once she found it at the corner of her eyes.

The redhead held a hand out at the monster, as if commanding for him to stop. "Wait. Wait." The crimson-haired girl demanded. She had finally run into a monster that appeared somewhat intelligent. So, why not milk information out of him now?

"You're a monster... right? That means you're attacking me for one reason." Vanessa bit her lip. Never once had she won an encounter with a monster. She doubted that this would be the first time, either. But, maybe she could strike a deal with him. "I know what you're after, and I can give it to you willingly. Sounds like a better deal than forcing yourself on me... right?" Her heart raced as she said these words. The girl hid her hands behind her back so that he couldn't see how much her hands were quivering. "Tell me... who are you monsters working for? Why are you here? Do you monsters work together on this island?" She asked him.

Interesting, she was quicker than he would have given her credit for with that large chest of hers he had gotten a small show regardless. But then the unexpected, as her hand came up Gersham had been curious. The miasma abruptly vanished and he listened. Lily and Lacey had come around though after he had used his gifts though he liked to fight too what she offered was a bit different.

She had questions. He had some answers. She was a short distance away and was hiding her hands, though his third eye could be fooled if blinded or unable to see he had not noted her picking up anything, even if she had it wouldn't do her much good.

She had guessed one of his motivations behind his attack though that desire had been replaced by this situation. He was reminded of Esper, she knew when she was beat and was throwing in the towel. He had fought in the arena and fought until his opponent was incapacitated or tossed in the towel. Thrice he had been beaten, the first due to his own overconfidence and not being use to a venue were the inhibitors were not in place.

Reaching out his fingers ran down the side of her face. “I am unlike most as far as my origins but I know enough. I cannot say as to whom the others work for if anyone but I serve Aegir.

“My only duties have been staying clear of two of the students here and reporting to him each month. That answers why I am here, normally I am among the stars. As for the others, well I am not at liberty to say. Though they do work together sometimes. At others they are in conflict over a particular student. It sort of goes against the spirit of things but sometimes a being becomes to attached and doesn't want to play with others.

“Against a large group it is common for numerous beings to work together or one monster to flush out a student to another like the way lioness hunt. Most though prefer to work alone.”

Her amber eyes stared into his, as if silently telling her that the information wasn't worth anything. "Sure, Aegir or whatever. That was hardly an answer." She growled, this time turning back and readying herself to sprint if Gersham decided to back out on this deal. "I asked for information, not round-about answers. All of you monsters attack us - rape us. There's some sort of commonality behind all of these monsters that you're not sharing with me."

She was a spirited one though he had been aware due to his third eye that she was not about to launch an attack. At this range any defiance took nerve though rather than react viciously he grinned reminded of Esper for a moment. Esper would not defy him as so but he had recalled her strength and nature when it came to all others.

Amused he considered what he could get away with disclosing and what he could not. He noted that she did not draw away from him then not that it would have done her much good. Slowly his gaze drifted down her full figured chest then back to her eyes.

He had already won, they both knew it and the only reason they were speaking now was because it amused him to do so. “A common thread? I assumed that would be self explanatory seeing the end results of each encounter.

“I suppose I could get away with that. This is a resort, we come here on vacation. Some people like to ski, others mountain climbing or laying out on the beach.” Granted he did not relay that she was not on earth but that would be a treat she could work out for herself or be surprised at that discovery later on.

“Some hunt in ways that interest them and serves their needs. Some need to feed off of released energy or chemicals. Some enjoy the terror they bring. Others just enjoy it. The motives differ though the end result remains.”

He set a hand on her shoulder. The fingers of his other unfastened the top button of her blouse drifting to the second though slowly. “What else is on your mind?”

Those muscles were already primed to go and he had been absorbed with the constant threat of danger that could come from numerous additional vectors.

More often then not it allowed him to avoid a surprise attack but after being engaged with them most bets were off. Keeping track of so many things at once had been tough though he always saw the truth and saw threw feints. But if each strike was legit predicting them would be tough indeed.
