Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Saying her goodbyes to everyone sent the group on their way. She certainly enjoyed her time with Brie, the Half Brownie, and her somewhat candid brother who got her to feel horribly embarrassed once or two, but part of her could imagine how hard it must be to get used to living among them as a non-Fae, especially a full-fledged human. Entire worlds existed between the two cultures though Flame had to admit, the experience was quite refreshing given what they dealt with in the days that built up to this moment. Cain helped a great deal, too, and in the future she would be coming back here. After dealing with Tori there were plenty of things on her list of things to do next.
Heading to the inn before nightfall came easy to them and the Sylph they were looking for wasn’t too far, either. She tried not to arouse attention, much like Roc, although Flame questioned their attempts to keep it down. Stratos could be well aware of their presence yet chose not to approach them on his own. Mind readers were as much an unknown to her as everything else and making assumptions as to how sophisticated his powers truly were wasn’t likely to give an accurate estimation in the first place. For all they knew, they had been an open book to him the moment they entered the room, let alone the entire inn.
She didn’t dwell on it for long as a question was posed to her, causing Flame to tap her chin in thought. “I really haven’t come up with anything special for the occasion. Just using the scrolls once we’ve found him before approaching and telling him what we came here for sounded good enough until now. Then again ..” She grinned mildly at that. “You’re the one who knows how the scrolls work. I’m probably not the most suitable person to come up with a strategy here.”
Nicodemus mentioned they were pressed for time before sending the two of them back here and Flame was curious as to what her dwarven companion might have come up with in the back of his mind. Staying away from him hadn’t truly come to mind unless there was some important aspect of the whole situation which continued to elude her. Spending the night in the inn with him right there, open to their approach, didn’t seem like the most prudent idea even though Flame wouldn’t have minded taking a break sometime. She glance about briefly before turning back to Roc. “Why, did you have anything particular in mind?”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Either he had not noticed them or did not care to since they had not drawn any sort of attention to themselves. Stratos was drinking alone and reflecting on something she guessed. Since they had no hostility toward him he may not have picked up on that, something so forward may have grabbed his attention straight away she didn't know just how refined his senses were.
Roc seemed to be weighing something in his head. “I'm uncertain actually. Now that I am looking at him again, he's stronger than the paraelementals … essentially each of them have the power of two wizards but he has three sources of power to draw upon. He should be able to best one of them by himself and in small groups even two of them.
“Though the main plan is to get them to simply forget but having the additional option never hurts. Versatility is key. But do we have anything to offer him? Most fae aren't too interested in money and I am unsure as if he's the sort to adhere to a greater good. Dwarfs are easy, fae, well their a bit tougher.
“Most are carefree in their youth and since they do not age as far as I know they could blow the whole thing off. In a few centuries it will right itself ...” He paused. Spencer was a bit different but his species was actually governed by the passage of time. Roc never really counted them as true fae because of it.
Tracing his mind over Gale and her involvement. It was no question that dwarfs and elves didn't get along but they were on the same side. “Actually, he will help. I didn't consider something of importance that we could use as leverage. We still need a pith to make it seem like we're trying to recruit him, something that makes it at least seem that he's doing this for something. Any ideas?”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Asking him for more than what they had in mind would be a bit of a stretch, but it was a sound plan. Roc was the tactician and she had to agree that having him as a force to be reckoned with would help immensely. If her dwarven companion believed he had some kind of leverage, they would be hard pressed not to use it in their current situation. Something worthwhile for the Sylph was all they needed and Veronica had quite the appetizer for him though it made her a bit more uncomfortable every time her mind brought it up. On that note, Flame had to announce her new name sometime. She didn't want to be known by those closest to her by nickname the whole time.
"Stratos always just wanted one thing from me. If you remember the first time we bumped into him, I took what he was interested in the wrong way. When I talked to him a second time, he cleared up my rather embarrassing misunderstanding." Beneath the table her hands were fidgeting nervously, the idea not too appealing to her. "He wants to know how I'm structured, most likely in order to figure out how a Living Construct like me could be created if he ever had the need for one. Whether it is for a legacy of his own, much like my father's motivation for creating me, or something else, I believe that to be our one and only bargaining chip at the moment."
They had the scrolls to keep him guessing on that one although part of her didn't want to lose her most recent memories, either. Things could go wrong which is why Veronica was the one to be the test subject in the first place. She was the least likely to be affected severely in that regard. There was no way around it though the young red head smiled to hide the fact she had troubled thoughts pestering her mind. "I'm aware how that may be risky, but I have you around to protect me if things go south which helps a great deal."
It definitely helped her sanity just thinking about giving herself to him for study, but in case the Sylph wasn't entirely genuine, they'd probably be in deep trouble. Stratos was greatly powerful and if he was as strong as Roc made him out to be, then not even he could be of much help if they were getting screwed by the supposed ally.
She leaned back in her chair, thinking over the whole deal once more. "Still, I have no idea if on top of working for us, he'll also fight for us if the need arises. We'll just have to find out." Flame sighed. "We're pressed for time. I don't believe he cares for much else other than studying me over the course of three days. I'm not sure whether that's supposed to happen instantly or not, but that was the general idea." She thought back on their encounters and figured that was the deal. Crimson eyes fixated back on Roc with her thoughts on the matter concluded. "So .. What do you think?"

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
“I doubt he would be interested in trying his hand in matters. Fae like to learn secrets. Their lives are so long that things like money are bland, even the older ones find all but the rarest magic boring. It is taboo for them to delve into Necromancy and to created a Golem Necromancy is needed at some point. There is a chance he could pair up with someone not of Fae origins to do all the Necromantic work.” That was probably the case in her own creation with her father dealing with all the darker magics involved. It was hard to see how the Fae factored Divine magic into that realm though. Divine magic was regulated by their deities who channeled magic to their followers. Thus they could cut them off at any time or forbid them from using a particular spell at all.
She had been aware of some of the work that Cain did, very detailed stuff but nothing that he had been forbidden to do so it was safe to assume that he made all the improvements she had been subject to in order to enhance the creation process and harmonize the souls contained within her. She could always ask when there was more time.
Stratos had noticed them but paid them no attention other then a simple look as he scanned his surroundings. He seemed to be at ease, relaxed and occasionally sipping on his wine.
“I'm glad you think so highly of my abilities. He can tap into three different power sources. We can only manage one each. But we both can draw upon elemental serpents so any sort of conflict will be tough. If it comes to that run, I'll buy you time and no I doubt I'd get myself killed in the process before doing the same if things don't look so hot.”
It probably wouldn't come to a confrontation, at least he hoped. He gave some thought as to what the Fae had initially wanted. He seemed interested in learning about Flame though, Roc looked across the room then back at Flame.
He must have gathered that she was nervous. “Should I just handle this or are you alright to do join me?”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Sacrificing himself for her, Flame never thought he'd go that far to protect her though a portion of her felt flattered to be held in such high regard. She didn't think too highly of it nonetheless. They had to stop Tori of all people and losing one of their most venerable warriors could be devastating to their efforts. Flame wanted to live through the entire ordeal, but didn't think of herself as an equal given how much knowledge there was lacking in her current memory. Roc, on the other hand, seemed like a far more valuable asset, but maybe trying to save her was just a thing between good friends.
"In any case, if anything happens I won't be alone and for that I am grateful." Speaking her mind about the matter was all Flame really wanted as they had no means to quit now. She looked to her companion, nodding in approval despite her troubled mind. It took some effort, but she had to swallow the bitter pill sooner or later. After all, if Stratos agreed he'd have to be close to her anyway. "I'll be alright. It's what we came here for, after all. I'm not going to sit here doing nothing while you speak with him."
Thus Flame got to her feet and faced Stratos though Roc had to go first in order to encourage the young red head to step into motion. She took deep breaths, causing her chest to rise and fall amid the soothing lungfuls of air flooding her lungs while her scarlet eyes fixated on the Sylph. Step by step, the two got closer, more or less expected to approach him at some point considering that Flame noticed he'd spotted their interest in him moments before. Standing next to the table, Flame left the talking to Roc as her own thoughts were likely to wind up jumbled somewhere along the way.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Roc gave thought to the scrolls that they had received. He was contemplating their use and how they would be viewed but just to be on the safe side he had her turn one over. He doubted it would be needed here of all places but even after things began it could be useful. In the least it would limit his Psi abilities to what he could do to himself, telekinetic powers and clairvoyant stuff if he was skilled in such matters. But it limited some of the effective stuff like influencing their minds or even reading them.
If it were on hand it would be easier to use. Giving a final look at Flame he lead the way across the room. They had nearly been at Stratos table when the Sylph looked to the pair and smiled briefly. He took another sip of his wine virtually emptying the glass he was in need of a refill.
“How can I help you two today?”
“We need your assistance in dealing with the Forgotten Four.”
Stratos looked between the two, so tough to read what was going on in his head. Whatever it was he eventually shook it. “Not interested.”
“Even if this will assist the Elemental Master of Air?”
The Sylph were connect with the air element though there seemed to be more to it as Stratos paused. He leaned back in his seat, signaled the waitress that he needed a refill then gestured to the empty seats instructing them to sit.
He was quiet until he got his refill evidently thinking over a few things. “The Princess sent you?”
Roc glanced to Flame for a quick second before returning his attention to Stratos who seemed quiet calm. “No, she didn't. But she will be confronting them herself so by assisting us you would be assisting her.”
She would be quick to note that Gale was royalty if she was taking all this in right. She had seemed like a haughty elf though nothing set that apart from the norm. She did not dress the part though they were prisoners until recent but made no fuse afterward. It could be a Fae thing that they weren't into such regal displays or perhaps a trait that Gale possessed in order not to stand out.
“She is stubborn like that in requesting aid.” Stratos commented. Another sip of his wine and he seemed to consider that new development. “I suppose this is the point where some altruistic pitch is used in lieu of payment. You'll be helping the Kingdom or saving the world or some such, am I right?” If anything the Sylph seemed to get at the heart of the matter. He had refused at first but had not dismissed them yet with the recent disclosure so it was reasonable to guess he was collecting information and thinking about matters. If he were going to say no he probably would have dismissed them already but even that was something she couldn't be certain of. He was Fae and thus he could be patient as he thought over matters too.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
After getting seated before the Sylph, Flame allowed the two men to discuss matters without interruption although it did seem like a curious thought that Stratos cared to consider their Fae ally to the point he actually brought them to his table in the first place. She did not bother trying to make sense of it for as long as it granted them the chance to speak further on the matter of his assistance against the Forgotten Four. It was a long journey they'd been through to get to where they were now and at some point Flame was certain the matter of Gale being royalty came up as well, so keeping her thoughts focused on the task at hand wasn't too difficult a thing to be done.
As a whole, however, dealing with a living legend had been beyond intriguing. Just thinking about how venerable individuals like him truly were in terms of age and intelligence proved quite unbelievable for they had the appearance of regular men and women yet encountering them personally permitted their aura of awe and wisdom to run rampant. Such visits were most thrilling in most cases and yet with him there was always the thought of what they'd come for and what they had on offer.
It was a necessary risk to offer herself for this particular affair and no, Flame didn't believe they had an easier choice to begin with. A few days ago they were prisoners and had little else in their possession other than whatever material wealth Roc could bring to the table at any point. She could feel butterflies of uncertaintly flying about in her stomach whereas her heart began to pick up the pace, beating heavily against her heaving chest with every deep breath meant to calm her while her troubled mind desperately and against her will attempted to map out whichever possibilities opened up to them if the offer wasn't good enough. Those final moments before relaying the terms were practically torture to the beautiful red head sitting across the table.
It appeared he didn't think they'd have anything to offer in exchange for his services though it was at that moment Flame began to raise her voice. Whatever got him to actually pay attention to them upon hearing of Gale, Flame was going to top it all off. "Actually, we haven't come here without having something to offer you in exchange for your services. You will be compensated for your active support against the Forgotten Four."
She had her doubts about having lost her value since the last time they spoke. Flame was unique in that regard and in the meantime there wasn't likely going to be another one of her kind walking about freely enough to offer him the chance of pursuing something he actually wanted rather than hoping for the right object to provide that could sway him to their side. She brought the flat of her hand to her chest to point it out with greater emphasis. "You wanted to get a closer look at me, a Living Construct. I'm willing to give it to you under the terms we've discussed last time we sat down together in this very inn. Three sessions over the course of three days, if I remember correctly. They will be yours if you accept to help us. We have yet to discuss the duration of each session, but I believe it to be a fair offer regardless."
At least that's what the voluptuous red head believed to be true. She couldn't read the mind reader like he read them and could only assume matters the way they came to her. Roc could intervene at any time, too, having far more experience than her with just about anything they came across. Somehow it felt good to be the one to have what an immortal being like Stratos actually wanted. For those who had just about anything or had the chance to acquire whatever they had need for, such a fact was quite exhilirating. Now, he just had to accept the offer.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Stratos wasn't altruistic for a reason. He didn't want to be bothered every five minutes about something that was a waste of time, even though he was a Fae and had an abundance time on his hands. What evil he could not deal with today he could tackle in a century. Yet it was the waiting and all that evil that could be done between now and then that had him adjust his own time table to other species. Most Fae that dealt with mortal beings had to do this if they didn't want to drive the mortals crazy all the time. To other species procrastinating seemed to be the norm for them. This wasn't the case, they just lived far longer and felt little rush to do anything.
He was aware of her presence in that he knew she was there though he had not been entirely focused on it. He was working out how to go about matters in his head, how the sovereign was mixed up in all this and trying to see his role in all this.
She brought attention to herself from both men as she raised her voice. Stratos, being Fae, did not miss how she emphasized her large breast either by touching it He was Fae and that alone made him a sexual creature even if he weren't as bad as most others he did not miss that.
Rubbing his chin Stratos gave her words some additional though. Roc had been silent for the time being letting her speak to Stratos though he was prepared to chime in if necessary.
“That is correct. Three sessions. I doubt they would need to be long ones but that can wait until afterward. While I will not damage your mind in any way time is more important at this stage We so rarely have to be concerned with it.
“But before I accept what is it that I must do? Fight? Infiltrate? Use a particular skill?” He was gather some basic understanding here as to what was expected of him. He did not think that they would ask for anything outstanding such as taking on all of the Forgotten Four by himself. One he could manage by himself, two if he were lucky. Two was practical if he had back up. His mind traced over the Forgotten Four. They were not exactly forgotten, more the way that they fused two elements being a forgotten technique though most mortals probably listed them as forgotten as most other Fae.
He recalled their strengths and weaknesses. If memory served the one of ice was Fae, he would meditate and reflect on that later. Ice was a combo of water and air, probably the easiest for him to deal with as he had near perfect control over the element of air and could do a lot with storms too.
He would agree to anything not to extreme though but for the moment sat back and waited watching the exchange of glances between the two as if they were silently conversing with one another or seeing who was going to field that answer Flame, he reasoned since she was the one putting herself on offer though he could not say for certain, the other may have a better grasp of the tactile situation.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Seduction never truly happened to be part of her intent although it never hurt to subtly exhibit the wares on offer, especially to the likes of him even though he merely desired to have a look at her overall structure and not whatever precious bounty lingered beneath her clothes. It probably wasn’t even necessary considering how grandiose a treasure she was to him if an immortal being took such great interest in her. Truth be told, Flame had no idea if he could be tempted by the pleasures of the flesh after living life for a duration unimaginable to her at the time. His love life must have been rich and quite extensive. Still, he didn’t appear to have missed out on the view.
Hearing how he would not damage her mind had been a most pleasant notion, coming from Stratos himself. Sustaining damage after having her memories suppressed would do nothing but add insult to injury and Flame wasn’t too keen on spending eternity blind, for once, or whatever other horrendous injury could occur. She wondered about one thing nonetheless. “Will the sessions be painful?”
It was a minor concern to the operation overall, but an important one to her personally. If there was no way around it, Flame sought to know in order to at least attempt to prepare herself internally for the pain to come once they’ve concluded their business with the Forgotten Four. She wouldn’t mind either way. Seeing what could be gained by giving herself into his care three times in a row, sacrifices of that magnitude were fairly acceptable.
Moving onto their demands of him would see Stratos confronted with rather reasonable expectations. At least Flame figured as much given what Roc suspected he was capable of in a fight whereas the whole ordeal with their memories seemed almost guaranteed as both Abdul and Nicodemus agreed on it. The initiative to speak was hers and the red head took it on herself to deliver the terms of their agreement. “We’ve reached a consensus which involves erasing specific memories of the Forgotten Four. Most likely you’re the only individual within our reach who has the proper skill set to achieve such a thing.”
She let him think over that for a moment before following up with what they thought of recently. “At that point we didn’t really consider asking you to fight them with us rather than manipulate their memories. It may be an alternative to what we’re asking you to do once we’ve had a chance to talk about it .. with the others.”
Hopefully the final bit wasn’t too much information, but then again there was little doubt the two of them weren’t operating alone to overcome the Forgotten Four somehow. Roc had the chance to chime in before Flame concluded her thoughts on the matter and prevent her from relaying vital information to begin with.
Thinking back on the vivid memory which allowed her to contact Abdul in the first place got her to ponder for a brief moment on how difficult it would be to fuse two elements in much the same way as the Forgotten Four. Fire and water, creating Steam. She didn’t know how feasible it turned out to be, but then again having an eternal lifetime to look forward to, some great things often came to mind that might have been unachievable for mere humans. Such thinking was a distraction, however, and her crimson eyes flickered back to the Dwarf beside her before long. She was going to wait and see how their little chat developed from now on.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Stratos considered her question before answering. It was an honest question and he had an honest answer for her. Yet he did not rush to answer it merely considered all variables first. He then shook his head. “No, it shouldn't. Not unless I come across regressed memories and press to have a peak in which case I doubt there would be more than a migraine but that is not my intent. I'm merely curious as to how your fused components work together. It is a very unusual combination, unique.”
Though with such matters addressed he thought over his own role. He did not seemed concerned about the mention of others, he knew Gale was associated in this at the very least so he was already aware that they had been working with at least one other. Playing with memories could be done, he imagined that the Forgotten Four would have some defenses there and the toughest to deal with would be the Fae of the group, Fae where resistant to enchantments and his Psi abilities worked along those lines.
Though he wasn't being used in combat and had the benefit of working in a bar, in a library or wherever without drawing too much attention to himself. Even if such interference was detected it would be tougher to pick him out of a crowd. There were certainly options here and in a combat situation he would have to work hastily but in a more relaxed setting he had the option of taking more time and care.
“I am not the only one that could produce such effects. Pixies have items that can erase memories though I am a bit more versatile. I can't really erase them but I an stop a mind from accessing a memory in a sense making them forget. Such effects can be undone but you'd have to get me to do it or someone that surpasses my power.”
“So, not easy.”
The Fae nodded. He snuck another peak at her cleavage before returning his eyes back to her. “Sounds good. The Fae will be the hardest, what is the memory you wish to be suppressed or rewritten?”[/color] Oh yes he could rewrite them to causing someone to remember falsehoods. Flame picked up more about his ability to suppress memories, that they were not really erased just locked away until someone managed to unlock them and could conclude that her memories whee there and tougher to access but that was something she had already known, but was he powerful enough to open such locks with her?
“Now, what is the memory I am to erase?” Or modify or create, whatever the case though he did not feel as if he needed to add the last part.
Roc fielded that question after exchanging a glance with Flame. He seemed to consider for a moment. “To forget their dealings with a specific individual. To be blunt we seek to stop someone to accessing the Blue Shrine and they are the ones that can open it.”
Stratos thought about this again. “Are you seeking to delay them? Couldn't whoever they are working with just remind them?”
“We are hoping for a delay that we can take advantage of, the less we have to worry about the better.” He glanced to Flame as if seeking confirmation on this point.
“Alright, that can be accomplished. Do you have an order of targets or a means to get them into one place?”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Flame figured a potential migraine was nothing compared to the aid they received and decided it was best to let him do as he pleased when the time came. Other than that, the red head merely traced their line of thought. She may not have a whole lot to say about the strategic value of one course of action or another, but Flame never ceased to listen to the people she worked with. Over the course of their conversation, the spirited nubile young woman caught him steal a glance at her cleavage, but most importantly, caught up on the possibility of tending to her suppressed memories, that they were not truly erased yet had to be unlocked somehow. The chances was there and Flame wanted to seize it, but not right away.
Stratos essentially described how a mind without access to certain memories could unlock them once again by having someone more powerful than the original caster undo the effects of their enchantments, that special someone sitting right on the opposite end of the table as Flame had her doubts many were able to surpass him in terms of raw power. What kind of payment did Flame have after offering her own internal makeup for study? She didn’t have much more that could be of value to him other than her own body for even the immortal Fae could not help but explore her charms from afar. What if he couldn’t even unlock them in the first place? What if her memories were locked away forever due to someone holding them hostage who turned out to be a greater man or woman than Stratos himself in the art of enchantments?
She didn’t know what to do if that was the case, or how much could be done in the first place considering how formidable an Enchanter the one to lock away her memories had to be. Power along those lines had been unimaginable to the troubled red head. Said individual would be working for Tori even today, no doubt, meaning they’d be up against someone more powerful than Stratos himself. She was probably troubling herself over nothing, but the chance was there, there always was and Flame didn’t look forward to finding out until the truth nullified her suspicions on the matter.
All that could wait until their chat about the Forgotten Four had been concluded, however, as it was more important in the grand scheme of things to prevent the witch from accessing the Blue Shrine. She was going to talk to Stratos afterwards.
Making them forget appeared to be a simple matter and the Sylph was already gathered intelligence on which individuals to use his enchantments on and what kind of memory he was hoping to suppress. It looked as though both Abdul and Nicodemus were right to send them here though there was a thought in the back of her mind that wouldn’t quite stop pestering her now.
Maybe fighting would be simpler in the long run though the sorceress hadn’t really shared too much information from her time with Whitney, thus the group knew almost nothing about it. Flame recalled visiting the Vault when exploring the City within the City with Whitney by her side, not to mention Bryne’s tome therein which offered one immensely destructive spell against the forces of evil. The Flames of Purity were of great interest to her if they had to engage the Forgotten Four in a fight, but suppressing their memories was likely to work better than having to spend ample time studying the tome and attempting to learn the spell before they made a move on the Blue Shrine.
She gave Roc a confirming nod when he glanced at her, sharing his thoughts on the matter. It’d be best if they had more time for Nicodemus to recover his strength fully while making preparations of their own though her experiences in the Vault got her to consider Stratos’s next question a bit more carefully. Thinking about that cleared up one thing, that Bryne was likely to be the leader of the group and thus had to be targetted first although Flame had no idea if they had any means to lure them all into one place, at the same time. “Erm .. I don’t think so ..” Scarlet red eyes flickered to Roc for a moment, unaware if they had any such means available before turning back to Stratos. “.. but Bryne should be your first target.”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
Outside of moving onto the Blue Shrine he could think of nothing though by then it would be virtually too late. It was too dangerous and unless there was something he was unaware of it would have been foolhardy.
He considered each member in turn, Bryne had to be targeted first. He wouldn't be the toughest though. The Fae among the four would be. He was confident about the other three, against her he felt that he could do it but there was a small chance of failure. Best not to go after her first should she escape and warn the others …
“Very well. He will be first.” His eyes dashed to Roc then Flame. He had sensed the memory of the spell on he mind, just her surface thoughts though it was one he did not know. He had sensed some of her earlier thoughts and those of he companion though he avoided prying into the details. Mostly it were things such as emotions he sensed and rarely did he dig too deeply unless it was vital to find something out.
“Can I have a word with her … alone.” He looked to the dwarf, Roc looked to her.
He didn't seem to happy about it, concerned for her safety though he did not argue with her. “I'll be close if you need me.” And he was, close enough to act quickly but not close enough to over hear.
“He is concerned for you safety. You are concerned about your memories. Don't be. There are few with such power that would make them inaccessible. So few with such skill were it would be hopeless like Oberon, but there are so many Shadows. So many people. What is the Flames of Purity? I couldn't help but catch the name.”

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
After Stratos asked Roc to be alone with her, Flame gave the Dwarf a brief nod to relay her acceptance of the matter. She didn’t know what he wanted, of course. Reading minds wasn’t part of her skill table and when he finally came out and said it, the sorceress hadn’t been all too surprised that he was picking up on a few of her thoughts along the way.
Looking back at Stratos now, Flame found she had trouble retaining her composure at having so leisurely point out her memories won’t be lost forever. “I can’t help but be concerned.” She responded with a mild degree of frustration. “You’ve lived an eternity compared to me. I lost almost everything I cared about. My whole life has been locked away from me and I don’t know who did it. I don’t know how powerful they are, or who could make them accessible again. How would you feel if it happened to you?” He had a whole lot more to lose. Asking how he’d feel was probably a bit much to demand of him though the young red head decided to move on nevertheless.
“The Flames of Purity ..” She took a moment to collect her thoughts on the matter. It might come in handy as a bargaining chip when addressing her own suppressed memories, but then again there wasn’t too much Flame recalled in great detail. What little she did know, she was going to tell Stratos. “It’s a spell from Bryne’s journal, or something along those lines, where he’s written down some of his own spells, their improvements and such. It practically records the entire development of the spell as far as I’m aware, but I didn’t have enough time to memorize it completely.”
A few things the red head did remember, however, more precisely what one could gain by casting it. “Its main use is to incinerate evil creatures. Should you cast it on a possessed being, they will get cleansed, but if the person itself is evil they get consumed as well.” She figured that was the gist of it and decided to leave it at that for the time being.
“I believe Bryne intends to eliminate the other members of the Forgotten Four with The Flame of Purity when it’s most convenient for him.” More of an afterthought than likely to be relevant to Stratos, Flame felt it was worth mentioning if only to further point out what could probably be done with such powerful magic. It’d require a mere cast of his to take out all others in case they managed to open the Blue Shrine, leaving the spoils entirely to Bryne alone if he was actively preparing himself for betrayal. She was going to leave him with whatever impression he took away from it for the time being. Who knows, maybe it had some value to him in the end?
It definitely did have value to her seeing how Lilac had yet to be cleansed, but that was neither here nor there with other matters demanding their attention right now. “Say, would you be able and willing to unlock my memories?” It might be a question out of the blue, but he was the one to tell her not to be concerned with her memories. She believed he could help her and wanted to explore her possibilities in that regard a little bit more.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
He gave it some thought. Naturally he had far more to loose if his memories went blank. He would loose all his Arcane knowledge but he was born a Psi and for Divine magic one had to be chosen by a deity. He would still be chosen, but he would have to relearn how to connect with his deity to cast his spells just as he would have to relearn his Psi abilities.
He would have to generate new memories, though in time he would reach a point where he could unlock those memories but when that occurred he would have to wonder if he would want to, essentially he would be a new person with a slough of experiences that could be tainted with knowing his past.
Stratos had the mind set of a Fae, losing everything would be annoying … if he remembered … but if he had no clue then it was a fresh start. A long life could be boring at times when you learned so much that rarely there was anything new. Her uniqueness was one of those rare things like a flower among the weeds. Then he thought as a human would, their lives so short that they tried to cram everything in. Such a loss was greater for them since their lives were finite and Flame was young not yet fully aware as to what immortality granted. It would be scary being set in that frame of mind.
“I'm not sure,” he answered still thinking about it.
The spell seemed unusual to him. At first he had thought it may have been an older spell he designed before his corruption but as a means of insurance seemed to fit. And it made sense if he were just going to get rid of the others after the Shrine was unlocked, he wouldn't need them any longer, he thought.
Then he smiled patting the back of her hand. He grasped it, closed his eyes, opened them and smiled again. “Yes. Yes I will.”
Goblins at each arm pulled her along into a chamber. Flashes of them strapping her down to a table. A woman, older, beautiful with striking green eyes … Tori … she was the one … and then she could see Stratos sitting across from her.
“Quite possible. I had to take a bit of a peak to see if it were possible, I hope you do not mind. That memory went back to the source of your blockage. If you are staying her tonight I could do a little more, it may take some time it won't be sudden though and the first things that will be unlocked will be memories around the source then they should back track from there. You see, nothing to worry about.” Another smile, noting his hand was still above her own he tend retracted it.

Re: Blue Shrine (for Ryu)
She had been patient with him and let Stratos mull matters over in the back of his head before he responded to her desire to unlock whatever memories had been sealed away within her. Flame hardly moved when he cupped her hand with his own, grasping it, other than the fact her muscles tensed up a bit at the unexpected skin to skin contact. Widening crimson eyes flickered to their hands, then him, both at the surprise that he seemed rather willing to help straight away coupled with the fact the world around her changed quite suddenly.
A woman and lowly creatures tugging on her arms appeared to her. She recognized Tori among them immediately. It just happened given the information fed to her mind from the memory flashing before her inner eye. She recalled the struggle of the moment, but there was little point to it as her physical strength had been fairly limited, even against the Goblins. That was moments before it all happened, or the very second her memory had been locked away. She just knew it. When Flame finally came back, her heart pounded against her chest, not out of awe, but excitement.
“You really did it, that’s amazing!” In spite of what the nature of the memory entailed given the scene that was playing out right then and there, Flame downright lit up with juvenile charm when reality embraced her once again. She found herself smiling while the rush of elation in her veins nearly caused her to ask, if not beg for more revelations of the past. At the same time, she was incredibly thankful for what little she got. Something like the faintest glimpse at a bad albeit forgotten memory was enough to lift her spirits as there was hope to recover more than that alone. It brought immense relief to her troubled mind to have found someone who could actually unlock her memories.
Thus far only Nicodemus hinted at the fact he could do the same thing yet without his powers fully restored, Flame had her doubts and therefore didn’t try to keep her hopes up to avoid disappointment in the future, not that a new life with him would turn out to be a poor start of a memory reset or anything like that. Stratos, however, had shown that he could do it and with that her hopes had been renewed on the spot. She had to be careful now. Excitement was getting the better of her and the young woman was making that much blatantly obvious. In essence there might have been little point in trying to hide it now though the jubilant red head couldn’t fathom that her search for someone like him would be over so quickly.
“Ah .. Um ..” She didn’t know what else to say and hoped Roc hadn’t thought too deeply into what he might’ve overheard, especially with the Sylph holding her hand until it finally slipped away with the prospect of unlocking further memories if Flame was to stay the night. Although the invitation was beyond tempting and Stratos being a legend even Abdul heard of before, he practically remained a complete stranger to the whole group. And what of his motives? He was willing to help and showing off one fraction of a scene was enough to entice her appetite.
Was he willing to help her purely for the sake of it? Just like that? Without compensation? She had little idea what to make of it though dealing with Fae thus far forced her to consider ulterior motives of his own, but the urge to give in was almost beyond bearable.
“I’ll have to consult my partner about staying first.” Flame figured that much was at least expected of her. After all, dealing with Tori and the Forgotten Four came first. Yet what would happen if she had to resort to asking for his services in the future? Was he going to do it then, when circumstances may have changed to the point he refrained from assisting? She didn’t know though bit down on her lower lip at the thought of missing the opportunity. She cast her eyes unto his once again. “I’d like to stay tonight and recover as much as I can, if possible, but it really depends on what my friend back there thinks about it.” Flame briefly glanced to the corner of her eye without turning her head, merely indicating Roc would be the final vote in whether staying had been feasible or not.
