Centering your Chi (Treebark)
Let it go, let everything go…The sweet scent of cherry blossoms drifts to the nose of anyone who passes by, but nobody would pass by this part of the campus. Why? Because such a haven was located in such a dying place. A fire had devastated a portion of the eastern side of the campus years and years before. What had been an abandoned territory soon became a solitude for the student, just beyond the track field. Anyone daring enough to brave the woods, knowing what was out there would find it after an hour long trek through the foliage. She sighs at the sound of the running water, which was symbolic in a way. Letting everything go, letting all her frustrations and angers dissipate. Not a clearing, but a grotto of sorts. A personal grove in perfection for an advanced state of mind. With a perfect matte flooring of various mosses that varied in hues and shades of the lightest greens to the deepest of blues. The student’s feet slid out of the shoes and was instantly gratified by the cool feeling of the spongy moss on her bare toes. She slid her shoes behind her with her feet, out of her way and took off her shirt. Her pink sports bra accented her lovely loose-fitting red, white and pink plaid thai-pants that she wore.
So it has begun, the practice that she has neglected for too long. Starting from a straight standing position the student leaned back until her body arched into a bridge, with an amazing feat of physical strength for such a small-framed slender creature legs raised into the air leaving her into a perfect handstand. What followed next was a series of rhythmic movements. She kicked out of the hand stand in a twirl, falling into a au cartwheel with a display of fancy footwork and an exotic, yet deadly dance of death. Her hands envisioning an opponent in front of her sending deadly strikes to vital organs and pressure points, her kyiahs loud and audible echoed through the grove.

Nearly invisible in the shadow of a large tree, he crouched and waited. His tongue slowly moved in and out his mouth, tasting the air. He could smell them, he knew the deer came through here often on the way to water. He knew his vigilance and patience was about to be rewarded as he heard a nearby branch snap.
He could seem them now. Further down the trail, a pair of the timid creatures had come into view. Unaware of the looming danger, they proceeded slowly down the forest trail, nibbling at the grass as they went.
He heard the shout even as they did. Off in the distance behind him, he could hear a woman's voice shouting. Their heads went up as they were instantly on alert, their eyes looked nervously past him towards the sound. Several long moments passed as the pair stood in the trail before turning and fleeing down the trail.
Snorting in annoyance, he stepped out from the shadow of the tree. The deer were all but gone, too fast for even him to run down. It didn't matter, he was only hunting for practice. The forest wildlife was much more difficult to catch then the students on this island; he enjoyed the challenge. With a mental shrug, he quietly turned and sped off to investigate the far off shouting...

After what seemed a beautiful, amicable eternity the student soon felt the repercussions of not stretching before her hurried display of contortions. The exotic movements stopped and Christine now stood erect, she let one of her slender legs trail off and did a sort of cherry picker stretch, pausing for a few moments and then switching legs. She did such with her arms before finally finding herself in a quite restful position with her legs crossed, seating neatly on the moss. She inhaled deeply, refreshed by the intoxicating aromas of the bloomed cherry blossom and pear tree’s that surrounded the grotto, her eyes settling on the singular pleasant willow tree just beyond the small stream in front of her. She felt rejuvenated, all of the tension and stress this island held, she finally felt at peace. Her anger and frustrations of her prior horrific encounters seemed to have left her mind completely. Though they hadn’t, locked within the deepest part of her mind her pride burned with envious despite. She hated them for what they’d done to her, stripping her of self worth and abusing her mind and body for their own sick, sadistic pleasures. But here, none of that mattered, not anymore.
She raised her arms, her hands outstretched in front of her forming a triangle centering over her chest. She said a silent prayer- thanking mother earth and the energies she provided Christine. Thanking her for the safe haven, and the tranquility she offered. The shelter from the tempest of her own inner demons. Then, there was nothing. The clouds parted and there were clear skies in her minds eye. Her mind was completely empty and she could feel the intensity of the energy rising in her. Her chi, her magnificent balance of her Spirit, Body and Mind had finally been achieved, and she was in a trance like meditated state of euphoria.
No….Please! Come back. She was running. Her legs pumping as fast as she possibly could, her body on the brink of exhaustion she could collapse here and now. The light, the being of wondrous light that evaded her by mere inches. Her chi was leaving her, why? What had she done wrong. “Come back!” She whimpered, her eyes watered and on the brink of desperation and tears she leapt. The being outstretched it’s hand to her, she reached for it, she missed and the ground beneath her shattered, sending her alone to fall into the dark abyss…
A noise, a noise had stirred the student from her silent slumber in her grotto. Her eyes fluttered open. She’d fallen into a comfortable lying position. Her mind was still clouded, and she was in a daze still from the experience she’d just had. Enlightenment had reached her and then had been ripped away by a sound. The sound! She remembered now, something had woken her. Pushing herself up she peered around the grotto, pale pink blossoms fluttered around her in the light breeze. Her eyes searched and scanned the area for that which had disturbed her. She found nothing. With a sigh she rose, her chi was still in tact, she could feel it’s warming vibrations flowing through her. She wanted to practice with that feeling still applicable. She stood erect once more and gracefully fell into a fighting stance. She visualized the one, the one she would hunt down. The one who had truly captivated her and destroyed every ounce of her pride. The demonic creature that abused her body for the first time. Her body went into it’s own Capoeria frenzy, she did not think of the moves they only came to her as a physical battle ensued with her imaginary foe. A neck spring launched the student high into the air, coming down with a devastating heel slam on top of the imaginary foes head- he parried and she launched herself to her left into a monkey flip as it was called which transitioned beautifully into a Relogio. A movement that incorporated an almost break dancing type of movement that was intended for a low kick or to trip and enemy. With her weight supported on her strongest arm, she twirled around in a breathtaking display of the deadly dancing art. After a few moments more of displaying her agility she slowed, her chi was subsiding and her anger and passion was filling her mind- she’d lost it.
“Fuck.” She cursed, standing with clenched fists and a bitter heart. With her left hand she reached up and pulled the two chop sticks that had held her hair in a secure and tight bun. The soft, white tendrils collapsed around her shoulders, falling to the small of her back in tender wide ringlet’s, the long bangs framing her face. Her gaze turned upward towards the sky, she didn’t know how long she’d been out, however, judging by the suns position it was nearing time for her to take her leave. Her amber eyes shifted radiating a green hue reflecting the deep color of the moss around her. Her chest, contained only by the thin fabric of the pink sports bra, heaved up and down with labored breathing her nipples piqued by the breeze. She lightly ran her hands over her breasts, warming the erect nipples causing them to subside slightly and she let her arms fall to her sides.

Swiftly, he moved through the trees towards the woman's voice. She sounded as though as she was fighting although the lack of any noise made him think she was practicing. Still, on this island, it was just as likely she was fighting off some being incapable of yelling. Deciding that the situation warranted caution, he slowed his pace as he neared her location, moving from shadow to shadow now, careful to make as much use of the light coverage from the trees as possible.
The yelling had died down by the time he neared her, replaced by a distinct silence. Up ahead, he could see a flash of color through the trees. Creeping slower, he could see a young student kneeling on the ground in a moss covered clearing. Even though her back was to him, it didn't stop him from admiring the view. His eyes wandered over her body as he admired the way her back narrowed to a slim waist before widening into her hips and butt. As appealing as he found her body, over and over, he found his eyes returning to her silver hair, bound up by a pair of chopsticks on her head, a few stray strands falling down over her neck.
How to approach this one, he wondered. First things first, he would like to make sure she was actually a student and not something else. Reaching out his senses, he mentally picked up a small rock on the far side of the clearing and tossed it the short distance to a nearby tree. The sound wasn't loud but it carried easily in the still air. Immediately the student's head snapped around looking for the source of the noise. Seeing nothing, she heaved a sigh and began her practice again.
Transfixed, his eyes followed her as she lept and kicked across the clearing. As he watched her movements, his fingers flexed around the tree, his claws digging silently into it's bark. Slowly, his eyes narrowed; it had been a long time since a student had put up a good fight and he found he was looking forward to it. A tight, reptilian smile crept onto his face as he anticipated what was coming.
She was standing alone in the center of the clearing as he walked out of the forest, clearly unaware of him. Balancing on the balls of his feet, he stalked forward as she ran her hands over her breasts and silently swore to herself.
"You should be careful what you ask for on this island. You never know who might be listening..." he said softly, his voice quiet but clear as he crouched and waited for her reaction...

Her sensed piqued, her mind aware of everything around her now, and there it was… That chill that runs up your spine and claws into your brain, a freezing touch of fear. The sound of a billion alarms ringing through your brain all at once. Her fists clenched at her sides and her body tensed. She could feel it, whatever it was, and it was behind her.
Her fears confirmed when she heard the clear voice echo across the clearing. Her mind didn’t even hesitate to catch the intended sarcasm in her voice, she couldn’t even help but smile at the remark. This one, it differed from the other’s she’d encountered. It didn’t abruptly attack her and strap her down, she analyzed that it probably had some sort of honor- or it liked to work for it’s sickening meal. She eased a bit, gained her composure and stood in stillness for a moment, her back still turned.
A hand slowly rose from her sides and neatly plucked the chop sticks out of her hair, causing the long lustrous locks to fall pleasantly down her back in light waves. Upon closer observation one would notice that the chop sticks her elongated and covered in a see through plastic casing. Her other hand grabbed one of the chop sticks and she flicked her wrists, the plastic coverings flying off to her sides. In her hands were held two deadly looking chops stick style blades.
“So it would seem.” She turned to face him, her feet shifting gracefully back into a stance, her arms raised to her guard, chop sticks pointing downwards.

Patiently, he waited as she lifted her hand to her hair. His eyes were on her as it spilled down her back, it's silver color reflecting her light as it cascaded down her body.
He was still standing in the same location as she flung the covers from her weapons and turned to face him. A small smile played across his lips as she raised her arms, her stance clearly showing her intention to fight. "Do you know what's at risk?" he asked as lifted his own hands. Slowly, he circled to her left, his eyes never leaving her as he studied her, watching her for any hint of her next action. As he circled, his entire body moved with easy, reptilian grace, his arms, head, and tail constantly moving in a bewildering, sinuous dance...

The student’s face remained a solemn statue of emotionless stature. Her own foot work elegantly mirroring his, with each side step an almost teasing display of her bare legs crept through the split material of her thai pants. Her crystalline eyes glittering in the afternoon sun, reflecting his image like wide almond mirrors. His voice, was enough to make her skin crawl if his appearance hadn’t already shaken her. No matter, how many of these wretched creatures she’d come in contact with, she felt she’d never be saved the feeling that coursed through her now. Impending doom perhaps? She didn’t know, not that any of it mattered now, she’d rather go down fighting than allow these beasts to take whatever their carnal instincts or desires wanted of her.
“I know what’s at risk if I don’t.” She seemed calm, cool, collected, but her mind was in a frenzy. She knew she couldn’t run, and judging from the thickness of the creature’s skin, she considered how effective her blades were going to be. Nonetheless she continued her stances, watching the creature as intently as it was surely watching her.

As he circled, he continually closed the distance until he was just outside her reach. As he moved, his speed steadily increased until his hands and tail were little more than black blurs in the afternoon sun, his movements flowing smoothly into each other. Soon even his predictable circling ended as he periodically changed direction, first circling to her left then her right and then back to her left in a bewildering array of seemingly random changes. At times he even turned his back to her, spinning as he moved smoothly over the moss covered ground.
All too soon, it became clear that his movements were anything but random as another seemingly benign spin brought his tail around in a whistling arc. Stepping towards her, he went on the offensive as he followed with a barrage of kicks and punches designed to test her guard...

She could feel each pulse in her body every time her heart pumped. The adrenalin coursed through her sending an invigorating sensation all throughout her limbs. Each hop, each jump, each step felt weightless. She felt as light as air, remaining ever vigilant with each of the creatures movements. One thing caught her eye, the creature’s tail. It was an asset that she was worried would best her, and she figured it would create a great distraction and a deadly weapon against her if she was not wary of it. Her theory proved correct when the creature suddenly went off of the defense and came towards her with an array of kicks and punches. She parried the first few punches, arched her back to avoid a high kick, and when she was expecting another kick she miscalculated. A square punch to her jaw sent her backwards with amazing force, landing painfully on her back. In a moment she was back on her feet, a small trickle of blood streamed out of the corner of her mouth. She felt her face grow hot with fury, embarrassment, and shame. She’d already taken a hit so soon into what was to be a fight. Though she felt she was at a slight disadvantage nothing could excuse a mistake in so vital a situation. She lifted her hand palms down, the blades shimmering in the light as she wiped away the blood from her chin.
The student utilized her fighting style to keep a sort of mystique in her movement. Relaxed and almost undetectable were her advancements, but soon, she came close enough to go offensive. Her hands and arms worked through the air in an exotic array of movement and twice she slashed at him only to miss by mere inches. It almost seemed he was toying with her, allowing her to get so close to him, and soon she started slashing in a fury, adding in high kicks towards the upper torso when she saw opportunity.

"She is good," he conceded as she quickly recovered from his strike. Good as she was, however, he possessed both the physical advantage and the experience to use it. Apparently realizing that he would inevitably wear down her defense, she moved to attack. Smoothly, he flowed around her attacks, allowing them to almost hit as he fed her false hope of victory.
Inwardly, he smiled as the tactic began to pay off. Gradually, her attacks moved from a reasoned offense to a furious array of slashes and kicks. It was only a matter of time, he knew. Step by step, he gave ground as he ducked and dodged her strikes. Seeing an opening, he suddenly reversed direction. Stepping towards her, he seized one of her wrists, slapping the blade from her hand even as he pivoted and tossed her through the air. Her own momentum aided the motion as she flew through the air to land several yards away.
"This can only end one way," he said as he picked up her fallen blade and tossed it negligently into forest.

“Ungh!” She hit the ground hard landing on her back, loud gasping breaths caused the students chest to furiously heave up and down, her large breasts threatening to burst from the sports bra. She quickly, but painfully heaved herself up onto her knee’s and faced the demonic bastard before her. She’d hardly expected that much forced from a creature who, though bigger than her, was still relatively small. She looked to her right hand, she still had one blade left, the other? Her eyes angrily watched as it was tossed aside by the creature before her. A small line of crimson trailed out of the corner of her mouth, where she’d bit her lip on impact. Her breath was heavy and labored as she pushed herself up to her feet. “Yeah…” She said in between inhaling. “This can only end with your death.” She watched through strands of platinum hair, as the cocky creature mused at her distress. She waited, for him to make the next move, amber orbs locked on his form, never feigning for a second.
Too long, too long had passed valuable moments of energy were being wasted just standing around. Cautiously she advanced forward. Taking valuable note of the length of his limbs and that wretched tail of his. It dawned on her, she’d forgotten the most important rule of martial arts. ‘Never attack out of anger.’ She tormented herself with wicked thoughts. ‘It’s hard not to, not after what they’ve done to me. I’ll never forgive them for what they’ve done.’
Did she scream out loud? She’d had to have. It was so loud, so full of hatred that caused an undulating pulse through her brain. She wasn’t sure, the only thing she was sure of was her quick launch off of her heels towards this waste of life. She was up high at first, her blade threatening to advance in a slash towards his face, then her body fell with astonishing speed. The first move meant to distract while she fell onto her back thrusting her legs upward to land a double kick into his gut. Another flurry of motion, spinning around back onto her feet, arms raised in defense. “Come on you bastard!” She screamed.

Calmly, he watched as she picked herself up off the ground, his body relaxed as his eyes wandered over her figure. Her heaving breaths only drew attention to her firm, generous chest. And her tight top did nothing to hide the flat tautness of her stomach. As she rose to her feet, he briefly wondered if her legs were as inviting..."Probably," he thought quietly, before shrugging slightly to himself, "I'll know soon enough."
His face was an unreadable mask as she threatened him. It was all bluster, he knew; there was little doubt in his mind now as to who was the superior fighter. Patiently, he stood unmoving as she waited for him to make the next move. His cold blue eyes roamed over her, watching her body for any hint of action as they stood across from each other.
A quick breath and flexing of her legs was all the warning he needed as her patience ran out. Screaming in fury, she launched into another attack. Seeing her coming in high, he ducked and was preparing his counterstrike when she quickly dropped to the ground and lashed out at him. Caught offguard, he rolled backwards, opening the distance between them and barely avoiding a savage double legged kick. Silently he cursed himself for overestimating her.
He rolled to his feet even as she spun to her's. Their eyes locked as she raised her arms and screamed in defiance at him. Any doubt he had moments before was gone now. He was confident that, in her anger, she had shown him the limits of her skill. He, on the other hand, had not. He began to circle to her left again, slowly closing the distance between them as he moved around her. Gone were the twists and turns of his previous passes, his arms, palms outward, assumed a relaxed defensive posture as he confidently circled, forcing her to turn with him and preventing her from assuming a static defense. Unseen between them, his mind reached out to her as he moved. Invisible mental fingers tugged her long, silver hair across her eyes, obscuring her vision as the strands fluttered in a non-existant wind. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning as the soft material of her loose-fitting pants was softly dragged over the firm skin of her inner thighs. Ever so briefly, her traitorous bottoms fluttered, feather light, over her sensitive sex lips.
As much as possible, he attempted to disguise his mental assault while he tested her concentration. Still he circled, his movements confident and relaxed as he gauged her reaction to this new, subtle onslaught...

“What…What’s happening to me.” The student thought silently to herself after her outburst towards the reptilian monster. Each breath heaved her chest outwards, each labored breath taking more and more of her energy, energy that she was losing so much faster than normal.
There was a reason the student felt so centered in this place. A reason with a logical explanation. Not too far off in the distance the large, bulky metal orb that had fallen from its post suddenly kicked back on. A glowing blue band circling it’s perimeter as it noiselessly powered itself up. “Mr. Niceman, the inhibitor in sector five has been restored.” A long haired brunette, with shocking green eyes said turning away from a dim computer screen. A sick, sadistic smile crossed a tall, handsome man’s features, he nodded approvingly and quickly exited the small laboratory.
The long silvery locks flurried past her eyes in tiny torrents, obscuring her vision. The student tossed her head from side to side, struggling to keep up with the creature’s sporadic movement. Wherever her head went, her body followed, her arms steadily raised in constant guard. She flicked her hair over her shoulder, constantly in high attempts to keep the mangy locks out of her way, but it seemed nothing prevailed for her. She was slower, so much slower than before and she was beginning to take notice. “What’s wrong with you Chris?” She thought to herself biting her lower lip as the soft fabric lightly fluttered over her lace concealed slit, causing a brief moment of shock and hesitancy in her movement. Usually, the student would never condone running from a fight, but there was something wrong, terribly wrong her. Her golden eyes frantically searched from left to right seeking a means of escape, but the creature was fast and almost frenzied in movement, always resuming her concentration, distracting her from her defenses and her true intentions. Escape.
He was fast. Too fast to run from. With deep distaste she gritted her teeth and watched as the creature seemed to mock her, dancing around her in an almost triumphant manner. She saw an opportunity and took it, the large humanoid had made his way towards her left and parried one of her punches, leaving his rib cage exposed. Her left leg flew, but so much slower than she was capable of, it seemed as time was slowed for Chris and she missed. She quickly recovered and moved a few paces back, her fatigue now evident and noticeable. “Damn You.”

Her distraction was obvious to his trained eye as he circled her. He chuckled softly to himself as she bit her lip and tossed her head to the side while she tried to ignore his distractions. When she finally moved to attack, he was ready and easily dodged away from her, her movements were noticably slower now.
Backing away after her failed offensive, his eyes followed her again while she cursed him. Her fatigue obvious now, her chest heaved underneath her tight sports bra. "You fought well but this fight is nearly over now," he said quietly. With that, he drew himself up to his full height. Towering over her, he inclined his head slightly to her. "The next pass will be the last."
Dropping to a crouch, he approached swiftly, leaping nimbly from side to side as he closed the distance. A quick spin to her left brought his tail around in a high arc. Landing softly, a powerful straight kick lashed out while she turned to face him. Stepping towards her, an open fisted punch blurred towards her, forcing her to dodge again. Leaving her no time to recover, he continued the charge into her. His arms wrapped around her chest as he slammed full force into her, knocking her from her feet and bearing her to the ground underneath him...

His cold words echoed through the small clearing, riding along side the blossoms that continued to drift through the slight, pleasant breeze. Tiny beads of perspiration glistened against the student’s cream colored skin, her face, chest, arms showing a slight rosy color as her blood burned through her body, the sound of her own heart beat thumping harshly in her ears.
So it comes to this… She thought with a look of solemnity as the creature burrowed into a crouching position, within a flash of movement he quickly closed the gap between them. She accepted it, knowing she was unable to counter the attack that came billowing towards her. She let out a soft groan as his tail lashed painfully against her right arm, and then he was gone again. She turned, to counter a sure as hell kick that she knew was coming, but her movement was sloppy. In her attempt to downward star block his movement he caught the tips of her fingers causing a vivid surge of pain to course up through her hand. She recoiled, and he was gone again. Crack. How? She didn’t even see it this time, his punch had connected straight into her jaw. She could feel the coppery taste filling her mouth as the warm liquid gushed out of her lip and tongue. She swallowed hard, turning again to meet the creature, only to find the beast rushing towards her at full speed.
A red mist sprayed from her slightly parted lips as the creature slammed hard into her stomach. They slid across the padded soft moss of the clearing for a few moments, before coming to a stop, his heavy weight on top of her. She stared up at him with a ferocity in her eyes, her mouth opening to inhale deeply, her chest and stomach heaving violently up and down. There was a slight wheeze coming from the back of her throat, he’d knocked the air out of her. Her face was flushed and red, she struggled to breathe. Instinctively her arms came up and bared defensively on her chest, her forearms pressing against the chest of the massive creature. “ G.Get…Off of…Me.” She managed to choke between labored breaths.
