Days after the encounter, activity resumes it normal flow, with Kanoe still cold and uncaring for those around her. The mark is the only reminder the witch has of the rogue sorceress who took her to the very heights of bliss that fateful day, and she hasn't seen hide nor hair of the woman who took her in as her apprentice since.

The day was drawing long, and the class she was in bored her to no end. She busied herself by staring outside at the trees swaying at the breeze, calm and tranquil, but then something out of the corner of her eye catches her attention, a swift blur of black hoping from branch to branch.

Her gaze fixes itself on the movement, and she finds a single black feline, staring back at her, piercing yellow eyes gazing back at the students as the ornate mark on her chest begins to grow in warmth. They exchange glares, a silent greeting, before the cat hops of to parts unknown, in search of yet more mana to drain, though none as rich as her dear apprentice, while the student ponders on at the mystery of the Mage.
