Alucard stood, waiting. It hadn't laid hands on a student in a while, but it maintained its patience. It had gone months in the past, so what was a few weeks going to matter?

Nevertheless, the massive alien was hungry.

Finally, at about noon, the alien jumped down from the tree it had been standing in, landing on its feet. It camouflaged itself rapidly and continued to wait.

After having a light breakfast, Emily thought a nice walk through the woods would do her good. She strolled out into the warm spring air, the breeze causing her lavender sundress to dance about her knees. The sent of the trees made her smile with delight as she was overtaken by the shade trees of a lovely forest path. When she had gone along for several minutes, she stopped, taking in the natural beauty which surrounded her.

Emily's cute face and curvacious body meant only one thing to Alucard. If Emily could see its face, she would know. And why not? the alien thought. It allowed its camouflage to fade, only a little bit, not for a tenth of a second, and only its face. To Emily, it appeared that directly in front of her, for only the briefest moment, a pair of enormous yellow eyes the size of dinner plates were bearing down on her, above a huge, inevitable mouth, both wild and wide with hunger.

These jaws were the maw of fate, come to swallow her up, but just as soon as they were there, looming feet over her head, they were gone, questionable that they were even there.

Just to make sure it stayed hidden, the now-practically invisible Alucard shifted away.

As Emily's eyes wandered over the landscape, she suddenly caught a glimpse of something horiffic right in front of her. Her head snapped in its direction, but nothing was there.

She was tence and her eyes darted around. She thought that she was just seeing things. Hesitantly, she continued down the path.

At length che chuckled to herself, "More of gravey than of grave..."

Alucard's already wide grin split yet further at her uttered words. It followed her on cat's paws, staying silent until the moment was right.

SNAP!

The twig broke loudly as the alien deliberately crushed it.

The sound had come directly from behind Emily, and again Alucard sidestepped.

She instantly spun around, greeting her eyes to the empty woods behind her.

Now she was confused and very tense. There was no way she imagned that. She decided to pause for a minute to collect her thoughts.

Alucard's eyes fell on the vulnerable student, eyeing her long and slender legs and imagining how they would move soon. It relished her nervousness as it made the sound of footsteps coming at her from another direction.

Emily looked in the direction of the footsteps. Nothing.

She slowly began moving away from the sound.

The monster's face twisted to smile wider. This hunt is over! Alucard thought. All camouflage dropped to reveal bumpy grey hide.

The alien crouched directly ahead of the voluptuous young woman. Its solid yellow eyes locked with her own orbs. Then the creature spoke in a voice that was many voices.

"I'm real. Believe it."

She tried to scream, but it came as a gasp. She stood, frozen, staring at the being in front of her. Emily's face was of bewilderment and horror.

She tried to run away. Nothing happened.

Alucard observed the horrified little woman with glee.

"You look delicious," it said to her.

Her eyes widened. Was this thing going to eat her? What WAS this thing?!?

With all her might she managed to take a step backwards.

Alucard drank in the fear on Emily's face, enjoying the moment with good reason. "How long have you been a student here..."

The alien paused in mid-sentence. It did not even know her name!

"What is your name, anyway?"

It took the opportunity as it spake to look over her lithe form.

What was going on here!?!? First it says she looks delicious, then it makes small talk!??!

Emily was beginning to second-guess this place as a good school...

Very slowly she began to regain composure.

"Eh...Em...ily..." she said haltingly to the creature before her.
