Karen freezes, sputtering in surprise! "Wh-what?? Military grade...??" She whispers loudly, staring at her. Finally she nodded, blinking at what she said.

"I managed to sneak along a bokken... and I know how to make a shinai if we had bamboo for it. Bokken's easier in a way, but you need a good piece of wood... well, anyway, let's see what they have." She shook her head though, not expecting they would... she went towards the double-doors where they likely stored the gymnastic instruments.

"It sounds like your life has been very rough... has it been any better here?" She asks as she opens the doors, relaxing at finding they haven't been locked up, and starting to go in.

She looked in shock, turning to her and grabbing her hands! "Really?? Here?! You got to show me!" She nearly squealed in excitement, grinning and starting to root through the things again. She loved areas like that to focus and meditate!

Humming, she went back to work seeing what they had... Given the nature of the school, there wasn't much; finally getting desperate, she took the handles off of a few brooms. "It's kinda... cheap, but..."

She sighed in annoyance. "Maybe we can push for some more gear here. Have you done any staff-work? I have a little; I can show you the basics." She spun the handle, then grabbed some thin blue mats and started to drag them out.

She nods in agreement, grunting as she dragged each out. "Ok! Well, we can do some basics with them. Staffs are easy because you can find a lot of 'substitutes'... it's just a matter of weight, length, and balance."

Finishing her stretches, she jogs in place for a moment, then slows down and bounces on her toes a little. "While we work out, don't mind talking a little more. You, um, know if they have anything else that's student-run here? Student council, or dorm dons or something? I didn't exactly read much about how they run here." She blushes a little, then steps onto the mats and assumes a neutral stance.
