Background:
Despite living in the city, after the death of her mother Raina’s father managed to keep her life rather cloistered. Being kept from effectively “living” for a good bit of her life, this really did not sit well with the young girl. As such, she took almost every opportunity she could to rebel against her father, seeing his rules as unfair and restrictive.

This began with falling in with the “bad crowd” at school and progressed far further from there. Though a smart girl, her care for her schoolwork slipped, and though she put in about as much effort as most of her friends, who were failing the majority of their classes, she still managed to scrape by with C’s which, while not exactly the most stellar of grades, says quite a bit for natural ability. After spending the majority of her senior year living from party to party, she graduated and found herself largely without direction in life.

Truthfully, she wanted to pursue photography, but with below-average grades she couldn’t get into many of the art schools to which she applied. Feeling hopeless, she finally filled out Shokushu’s strange application (wondering precisely why they required her to send in a senior picture and how they managed to be far more intrusive in their questionnaire than any other school she’d seen). Being accepted, she jumped on the opportunity to finally get away from home, her father happy because he saw the strict all-girl school as a way to straighten his daughter out. He’ll likely never have the opportunity to appreciate the irony of that statement.

Psychological Profile:
The loss of her mother at an early age has had a profound effect on Raina, both positive and negative. While at times she finds herself lonely and depressed and really has nothing to latch onto for comfort, it has helped her to become more independent as a person, and she feels stronger for it. Likewise, her father’s strict rules gave her an early distaste for authority, and she’s likely to break rules just to show that she can.

Personality:
While teachers and faculty might see Raina as a careless student wasting her talent by not applying herself (all save for art teachers that is, photography ones in specific, as it’s a passion), her friends see her as a loud, fun-loving girl who is nonetheless a terror to find in the mornings. While outgoing, kind, and quick to make friends, finding her before she gets her morning coffee brings those in question in face with a real monster.

Likes: Books (despite what her grades would suggest), a large selection of music though her favorite genre is darkwave, old cheesy horror movies, Chinese food (especially cold), jogging on brisk/chilly days (she’s not overly fond of the heat).

Dislikes: The heat on the island (growing up in Boston had this effect), country music, rules in general, rules in specific.

Activities: Running and swimming, though neither for school teams.

Miscellaneous: Has tried her hand at magic in the past, though hasn’t been especially successful. She can do a bit, and has potential, but she’s woefully under trained and hasn’t the slightest inkling as to what she’s doing.
