"Thanks..."

I told her snapping my fingers a small flame lit up in my hand a representation of my strength right now; the flame was quite weak.

"Been only planes every week of my life never been effected by jet lag this bad..."

"That's true enough, the jet getting here is something different. At least that's what mine did that long ago."

It was an odd flight, Dawn can barely remember NOT remembering anything. As though they been pushed into not remembering what happened on the flight. It was too much of an headache to think about something that happened so long ago.

"I fell asleep the second the thing took off didn't wake up until it was on the ground again."

I shrugged as my energy slowly returned the flame grew slightly more energetic. I let it go out and nodded standing rolling my neck.

"Have the feeling something's wrong with this place but, hell if I know why."

I pulled the pendent out from my swimsuit and let it rest between my breasts over the suit now. The symbol on it was enchanting.

"Hows this endurance thing work anyway?"

"Wow you had the same thing happen to you huh. Ya, several years ago that happened, I don't know how LONG it has been but i know it happened when i got to here. Anyway uh ya the endurance thing is rather simple really. Get to the middle of the pool area. and on my mark just keep paddling to keep yourself afloot. If you are having problems just say so and i'll come help. You need to do it for 5 minutes."

This test was just that, a test, to see if the student has the stamina necessary in races, not only that, it was important to help the students endure something else all together. Dawn couldn't say what it was because she know she will get in huge trouble, or just disappear like she has been before.

I nodded without a word and did as asked. something about this felt strange since I had gotten hear i kept seeing things out of the corners of my eyes hearing things too maybe just my imagination but, eh sometimes these things happened.

I'd lose track of time if she didn't say something I could easily endure five minutes; I'd done twenty before in a pool by myself. My mind working on deciphering things that had heppened thus far.

Dawn smiled and keep on watching the timer, count down from 4 minutes...to 3...to 2...to 1...then finally when the timer sounded, Dawn cried out, "TIME!"

Dawn waved Lilian back over to the edge so she can rest a little more. "Very nice, you will do very nicely on the Swim Team. Welcome, and congratuations."

I looked back at Dawn and offered a nod pulling myself out of the water once more grinning.

"That was pretty fun, so... cheerleading is basically team gymnastics right?"

"Well it is the same with all schools i suppose. We do the same thing here, but only attend competitions that are of the Highest caliber. And so because of that..."

Dawn helps Lilian out of the pool and puts a fresh clean towel around Lilian,

"...of that we don't usually get Trophies, but when we do it's usually the biggest one. Like the one we got the for the past 3 years, i been on the team for both the Cheerleaders and Swim Team. Work hard, and we usually get it since our school is so diverse. We get everyone here which is a good thing."

Dawn sits down next to Lilian and puts her legs in the water as well,

"So you need me to tell you when our practices are and everything else?"

"Yeah I'll get back to you on cheer leading... so the practices and everything would be great."

I commented the towel hanging around my shoulders i thought for a few moments about something.

"Have you ever seen something out of the corner of your eye that didn't look right or hear something creepy but not be able to tell where it came from like a scream or something? I've been hearing them and seeing them all fucking day it's starting to bug the shit out of me."

"Hmm ok the timing is just after class, we'll start when every member of the Swim Team arrives. Since the Swim Team is only 15 members, out of a school that is as big as this one is, it shouldn't take too long. However on an exception if someone is absent, we will start when everyone gets here."

Dawn smiled, the question she asked next was only something that Dawn didn't except at all.

"I been meaning to comment on that...yes there are...things on the campus are very dangerous and shouldn't be taken lightly. Yes they are here, they usually don't show themselves unless your alone or it is at night. And in our case, when we are alone in the locker room. So be VERY careful if your by yourself. Don't try and be alone in the locker room, enter and leave as a group."

"ALright so I don't have to go see the nurse to send me for an MRI; that's good."

I sighed slightly pondering what these dangerous things could be before lighting another flame in my hand and offering a tough grin.

"Will do will make sure to keep us as safe as I can."

"Actually I really wouldn't trust any of the staff members on the campus. Only your fellow students. None of the staff on the campus really have you in mind, only students in teaching positions, or in my case you should trust."

It was true, you shouldn't trust any of the staff members, especially if they are male. Which she should say to this new member to the Swim Team.

"Also...remember this IS a female only campus. That includes the staff, so if you run into any *male*, be extra careful."

"I barely trust anyone heck even my best friends; I've seen my dad's best friends turn around and screw him over a dozen times."

I told her nodding with a sigh; alright a little depressing that I couldn't trust people in my life but, it's how I'd grown up.

"What sort of monsters are we talking about anyway?"

"Anything you can think of they are here. I don't know but hope that you don't encounter them to find out."

Dawn knew there was no sure way to stay safe, once your on this island your there slaves no matter what you tried to do.

"There is no safety...not even in bed..." Dawn said sighing...

"What will be will be I guess, will just have work as best I can to try and avoid it won't I?"

I offered looking down at my swimsuit pondering before moving towards the lockers

"Better I not change alone huh? coming with me?"
