Great day to arrive at a new school; the sun shining, the wind gentle and sun perfectly warm students crowding around the plane to see new arrivals... nothing like today though. I was groggy after the plane ride and it seemed all the other new arrivals were as well; then again a boring plane ride did that to most people.

rap, tap, tap, rap

the sound of rain drops hitting the metal of the plane's hull. I glanced at the various girls shaking my head as a few of them were actually aroused; no doubt by a wet dream or two. I didn't say a word as I bounded off the plane with a gentle splash. a teacher waiting outside the plane stared at me angrily.

"Be a bit more careful Miss Renard such disregard for care may land you in detention."

I loved at her nodding offering a gentle thumbs up but not a word. I didn't often speak to people. I wasn't shy just not very open; I hated my voice honestly.

"Your bags are going to be in your room Miss Renard here's your key and schedule."

The teacher offered me a packed of paper enclosed in plastic. I waited a few moments before taking it in my hand and glancing around I assume the building that was being used right now was the dorm building and walked slowly into it. Hair and clothes getting drenched much to my displeasure; I'd showered before I came and my dye only usually lasted two or three rinses. Quite lucky I knew how to make dye easily.

I wore a simple denim skirt and brown & white button down along with my usual stockings and hat and yellow vest though; my usually dyed hair was more my natural teal the black trickling away .

I moved to the nearest couch to take a rest now looking at the packet that I had been given. I looked at it curiously a key and some paper within, a map and that was about it.

Maria looked up from where she was sitting as a drenched girl came into the building, taking a seat on a couch and reading something from a packet she had been holding. Curious, she stood up, moving casually over to the girl and smiling.

"Hi there...my name's Maria. You're...new here, yes?" She asked, extending a hand to the girl. "Well, welcome, if you are..."

I offered this girl a soft nod opening my mouth to speak. My voice to me sound quyite horrible; to others though I was always told I had a voice that could take me to fame and fortune withh a physique to match. I never believed them.

"Call me Kard..."

I said simply nodding my head pulling the key from the packet I looked it over; the numbers on it were too faded for me to read. much to my displeasure I shrugged.

"I am new..."

I spoke once more; quite obviously displeased.

Maria smiled when she heard the girl's voice, nodding and folding her hands together in front of her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kard." She says, head tilting slightly as she notices the girl's obvious displeasure. "What's wrong?"

I looked at her shaking my head offering the key pointing to where the number should have been. instead was a blank square; the number that had been there had faded so much it practically didn't exist anymore. What bothered me the most was the thought I'd have to check every door on every floor of the dorm until I found my own. Frustrating was too weak a word for what this was.

Maria blinked, taking a look at the key and frowning a bit as well. "Faded, huh? Damn...well...would you like me to help you find your room?" She smiles again, offering the other girl a hand. "I bet, if we find someone who deals with room assignments, they can tell you the number of your room."

"Alright."

Was all I managed to say taking her hand offering a friendly shake to Maria. She was nice enough but, I still didn't say much. To me my voice was a curse a hinderance to my way of life. I hated it with every fiber of my being. I was hard on myself, maybe even too hard on myself. Oh well one day I'd get over it; just not today.

Maria lets go of the girl's hand, stepping back and smiling at her broadly. "Well, then, that settles it! Come with me, and I bet we can find someone easily enough." She says, tongue sliding across her lips a moment. "And I'd be happy to show you around afterward, if you want."

"Alright..."

I was simple with my speech always was. I tapped a finger at my temple again, seeing Maria lick her lips was a bit unsettling to say the least of it though perhaps It was something I could ignore for the time being. It didn't mean anything after all... or kind of thought so.

"A tour would be nice..."
