Background: Katy was born in oxford, her parents passed away when she was ten during a fire, which is also the cause for the scar on her back. HAving lost her parents Katy explored her world, a traveling merchant found her starving to death, and took her in as his own. At the age of fifteen katy fell down an open manhole, this lead to her being afraid of dark cramped spaces. At the age of sixteen Katy learned an interesting technique to create a small fire by concentrating her energy in to the palms of her hands, this allowed her tomake fire without a lighter or matches. At the age of seventing the merchant died in a obbery of his new store, katy was bound naked and left there as the sound of sirons could be herd in the distance.Age eighteen, katy heard of this school and decided she would set off to join up... it took almost a year for her to get here.

(I am actualy in real life getting close to being able to do this.... just need a bit more practice^^)

Welcome to SHS. Though a bit more history may be helpful, unless you're still working on it/want to reveal more later.

I could put more background if that is what you mean^^...this is my first time posting here,but I have posted on hundreds of RPs and made my own^^

Only thing I can really see is this: There won't be much in the way of materials to start fires, as lighters, matches, and stuff like that are taken while they're on the boat coming to SHS.

if you read the magic I stated she makes heat...this would set things on fire if given the right conditions...basically it is just heating things that are flamable like paper^^

And in the rules it states that magic is reduiced to parlor tricks, as you can see here:

A word on magic on the part of students: It is allowed but on minor parlor tricks. No flying, no shapechange or eldritch blasts. Nothing that would give a student an even fight against a monster. In rp terms, to keep the level of power down to manageable levels, hidden all over the island unbeknownst to the student body are N.I.C.E. lab inhibitors. They suppress extraordinary abilities. This includes: Magic, Psionics, skills, or even characteristics above human norm are suppressed. A student may retain some of the abilities but they are reduced to about 10% above normal for the girl. Any magic becomes simple parlor tricks, psionics are flashes of intuition. Mater arts become slower, not as accurate.

Madison isn't saying you can't use the heat magic, just that it will be ineffective. You could use it to warm your hands at night, or heat up food that had gone cold but it will be completely ineffective as a weapon. The whole point of the rule is to keep the advantage in a fight heavily on the side of the monsters, in keeping with the site's theme. Just because, through a loop hole, you could make your powers more effective doesn't mean it won't still be breaking the rule. We're just trying to keep you out of trouble.

If you'd like some more action oriented threads you're more than welcome to make an ADD agent or space pirate SFA or the like and give her as powerful magic as you want.

yeah I understand that and hense it is a parlor trick... it is useless in battle because of the concentration and time needed, and the most it can do is burn a piece of paper...I have no intention of breaking the rules just wanted something that was there as a bit of auniquetrait for my character... again I understand what you guys are saying and I will keep inside the rules...I have no intention of letting katy have this as a way to get out of tentacle rape...just there to amuse herself
