"A boy! A boy! We found a boy!"
"A niiiiiiiice boy!"
"The boy plays pretty music!"
Darwin had, without knowing it, become the topic de jour among the Shokushu Pixies. Some of the female pixies had spotted the handsome "boy", and were clearly fascinated by their discovery. So much that some of the male pixies felt a bit.. inadequate.
Scouts had been sent to discover all they could about the mysterious boy. The reports were contradictory, to say the least. Some even claimed there was no boy, but a girl instead.
This had caused an argument, that had turned into a brawl, that had turned into an orgy, which was broken off for a quick raid at the cafeteria to get chocolate.
At some point during all of this, a plan had been hatched..

Outside Darwin's door, the preparations were almost finished. A basket was on the floor. The pixies had woven it themselves with great skill.
In the basket, there were fruits, stolen or grown, and altered with plant magic. There were red apples, green pears, a bunch of grapes and a few bananas. In a small basket inside the larger one where strawberries, red and juicy.
Using stolen equipment from the school, the pixies had made a carefully caligraphed letter:

A Special Boy
(or an Even Specialer Girl)
From:
Your Secret Friends

The pixies, satisfied with their work, set their plan in motion. Two of them were already hidden underneath the fruits.
The rest hovered before the door of Darwin's room, before knocking as hard as they could with their tiny fists.
Once they were certain they were heard, they dated away to various hiding spots.

I had been ready to leave my room, dressed like a bit of a prince actually my hair blonde at the moment. I had designed the outfit myself; there was going to be a costume party in someone's dorm today and I figured why not see if anyone remembered me. I would never make it to that party of course.

The knock came and I blinked slightly the odd thing was the sound didn't come all at once, perhaps a quarter dozen sounds in sucession. I moved to the door and looked out the magic eye at the center seeing whom was there. I noticed only the basket. I nudged the door open and looked to it before lifting it and placing it on a night stand. My room mate clair hadn't cleaned her side of the room so a few women's garments were misplaced on her side of the room, my side of course was boxers slacks and jeans for the most part neatly folded in their places.

"hmmm odd A fruit basket from secret friends?"

I thought aloud knowing the stalker group that occasionally followed me had no clue I was a girl or even a hint in their minds.

Darwin's costume were already a success. As soon as the door was closed, the hidden pixies let out their exclamations off approval.
The "prince" was dressed just like a fairytale lord. Very appropriate, they thought. The pixies, off course, had their own versions of many fairy tales, most of them not really suitable for children.
Once they had finished oohing and ahhing, they darted away, seeking to regroup outside the window.

Inside the room, the two pixies used the chance to peek at Darwin while "he" was reading the card. The two had hatched a cunning little plot, but the time to set it in motion was not yet there. Both giggled a bit with anticipation.

They ducked their head down beneath the grapes, and awaited Darwin's next move, hoping the Prince had not heard their little noises.

I thought to myself a moment looking at the basket then peeking out my window then my dorm door. I knew something wasn't right about me getting a basket in a school where the only one I knew the name of was my roommate.

I moved to the basket tapping my foot looking at it for any signs of prank or any cameras or anything and saw nothing again I scratched my head. no one would be stupid enough to put a recorder under the fruit; that was the first place people looked. I huffed gently to myself not having noticed any of the noises that had come moments before my inspection.

Finally I'd sigh to myself sitting on my bed for a moment with my left calf sitting ontop my right thigh. I was beside myself deciding if I should cancel my plans to go to the party now that the sucpicious though not seemingly dangerous basket had arrived for me.

"Hmmm poisoned? no... they don't allow poison in the school except in chemistry and they monitor those chemicals like they're plutonium..."

i mused softly to myself before moving to my guitar and begining to play simple four chord song.

Oh no! The prince had declined the sweet fruits! The pixies hidden in the basket felt so disappointed. But what was the prince doing? Tiny heads peeked out from beneath the grapes.
Picking up a guitar? This could be fun. The pixies liked music.
One of the pixies, a female with pink hair and wings, stealthily climbed out from the basket, and darted towards the window.

As soon as Darwin started to play, the other pixie could not restrain herself. Rising into in the air, she joined in and started singing to the music. Pixie singing sounded more like whistling or chirping than human singing.

This pixie had red hair bound in several long braids, and was wearing a short red dress made out of almost transparent gossamer.

I didn't stop playing for a time as I heard the odd chirping sound within the room. My eyes opened and I looked up only to see something... something odd dancing mid air in my room not far from the basket. I slowed my playing a little.

"Uhm Hello there. May I ask how you got in here?"

I spoke in a simple tenor; perhaps a little high for a common male though too deep for a common woman. I shifted slightly though kept the song going for now.

"I kinda sneaked in to spy on you!", the red pixie said earnestly. "I like your guitar. Do you play it a lot?"

Red flew over to the guitar. "Can I try?"
Without waiting for an answer, she put one hand on a string and plucked at it.

Meanwhile, the other pixie, the pink one was busy opening the window as quietly she could.

I laughed slightly at just how cute this little pixie was. I tapped a hand against my chin before standing and getting the basket.

"did you bring this fruit for me?"

I asked calmly now taking out a strawberry and offering it to her.

"I'll share it with you if you want."

"Yup!", Red nodded empathically, making her braids shake. "We brougth the fruits, so that we could hide in them and spy on you. Do you want to eat them? The strawberrys are the best, 'cause they have the prettiest color. And they are sweet."

In the meantime, Pink had opened the window. Now the other pixies could come, if they wanted. She decided she wanted to join the converation. She flew through the air in a wide arch, and laded on Darwins head.
"Why are you dressed like a prince alone in your room?", she asked. "Shouldn't you be dancing in a ballroom or something?"

I watched another of the small beings come in laughing gently now at their speech. it was just so... cute! I couldn't say where they came from or what they were but, I didn't mind at all.

"Feel free to take one then, I myself prefer cherries if you brought any of course."

it was true, I did so enjoy cherries just slightly tart and firm. But i digress. I looked to the new arrival and shrugged.

"Well, I was going to go to a little costume party that a student set up." of course I hadn't known that it was a trap set by a monster.

"but with you here I guess I an just stay in here and have a nice time with such cute little creatures."

"Cherries are good!", Red agreed, "Because they are red. Red is the bestest color!"
Pink did not seem to agree in the slightest with the latest statement, but she nonetheless darted over to the basket of fruit and started to rummage through it.

"Costume party?", Red enquired. "So, you are not a real prince?"

Pink appeared, carrying a few red cherries for Darwin. She also had a few juicy stains on her cheeks. Obviously she had helped herself to a piece of fruit.

"Well with the way the girls around here treat me yeahyou'd think I was a real prince."
I laughed now shaking my head softly as the cerries arrived. I'd take one and pop it into my mouth smiling gently now.
"Wonderful, but unfortunately I'm just a random guy."
I said simply brushing myself off slightly with a smile to the cute pixies.

"Do you like the cherries? Are they good? We grew them ourselves!" Pink asked. "We made them 'specially for you. Do you want more? We have pears as well, if you like."

"If you like to, you can be our prince, and we can be, like, pricesses.! We can have a party, even! A ball, if you like. With dancing. We can invite friends."
Red sounded really enthusiastic.

When she could see them both up close, Darwin could see both pixies were very simmilar, but with certain differences. Red was the curviest and most feminine, while Pink was more slender and almost tomboyish.

"It would be n honor to be a prince to such little cuties."
I smiled still nodding once more.
"And thank you the cherries are wonderful really! thank you so much for the fruit."
I didn't know who their friends were of course but i quickly decided.
"And please invite as many friends as you'd like."

It appeared that some of the mentioned friends had already invited themselves. While Darwin and the two pixies were talking, several other pixies had gathered outside the window, and were now coming in.
That they had been eavesdropping on the conversation was obvious, as a few of them came with more cherries. If the Prince wants cherries, the Prince should get cherries!

"So, if you are a prince, can you do the magic kiss thingie?", Red asked.
"Yeah. It goes like this. I am an evil witch, right? And I have this poisoned fruit. And I'm giving it to a princess..".
Pink darted over to the fruit bowl and fetched two green grapes. She handed it to Red, who took a big bite out of it, and one to Darwin.

"Oh no! I'm under a spell! If only there was a prince to break it!", Red exclaimed. She then proceeded to perform a rather melodramatic death scene in the air, before landing on Darwin's shoulder, lying perfectly still.
