The pixies chirped with delight. Both Purple and Pink offered their names, but the names was utterly unpronouncable in any human lanuage.

As Susan undressed, several pixies carrying various flowers had entered the circle. Some had even started to tie flowers together in chains in midair, something that demanded quite some aerial acrobacy. All the time, they were humming and chattering with great entushiasm in their own lanuage. Susan was giving them quite the treat, was the general concensus. The pixies did not quite understand human modesty, but found it an endearing trait nonetheless.

"Goddesses of Nature, please prepare our friend, Susan, and let her receive our benevolent magic, so that she may stay safe from the dangers of this land!"
The other pixies started chanting in their own tongue. Small balls of light started to manifest in the air, an illusionary effect created by pixie magic.

"It is time to transfer the power of the circle to the vessel!" Purple pointed to a mushroom, and two pixies started uprooting it.

"Just sit down in a lotus position." Purple said, landing on the ground and demonstrating. "Try to clear your mind and focus on the presence of nature around you."

Susan managed the first part without difficulty, but the second part was a bit more difficult. Every attack had left her more on edge and alert to her surroundings; she had to convince herself that the pixies would warn her if something dangerous approached. Still, she managed to do so as well as she could while some of the pixies wove a 'crown' of flowers into her hair.

She didn't know what to expect from the ritual, and so tried not to let anything short of one of the pixies yelling something like, "Run!" distract her. This wasn't too hard at first, as the lights seemed perfectly natural for the general atmosphere of the spellcasting and the pink fairy's comment was both not too surprising after her prior comments and tamer than them.

When two pixies started to pull up a mushroom to 'transfer the power of the circle' to her, she did have a moment of worry. They can't be planning to put that... No, no way. The monsters have made me paranoid. Calming her worries, she refocused on the nature in the clearing.

A couple of the other pixies seemed to think this was a great idea. They darted off towards the edge of the forest like brightly colored arrows.

"Monsters! Wohoo!" Susan could hear their high pitched voiced from somewhere between the trees. "Come all monsters, we have a giiirl!"

"There are no monsters here, silly! Do you want a monster? We can find one for you, if you like."

"No I don't want a monster! I'm trying to get good enough to keep them away from me!" She turned her attention to the pixies that had flown off to find a monster. "Stop calling them! I don't want them to find me!" In her anger at the pixies' betrayal, she didn't think of the fact that if there had been any monsters nearby, they'd be more likely to hear her than the pixies.

The shouts of the two pixies that had gone to look at for a monster faded out in the distance. Either they had not heard Susan's protests, or they did not care.
