It was somehow ironic yet fitting that Persephone had been given the name of the famous Greek goddess of spring and part time wife to the lord of the underworld. It showed when the girl thought she was alone and there was no one to watch her. Every day for a couple of months already, she came to a spot in the forest of the island, a little clearing where the canopy of trees opened right up to left the sun shine on through.

It was there in the secrecy of the forest did the pink haired girl keep a secret garden of white flowers, next to a little pond where waterfowl often stopped by to keep an eye on the lovely young woman who certainly had a green thumb. Flowers usually took a while to grow--even in fertile soil with a very good environment as the one she had chosen. But for young Persephone she had a knack for coaxing plants into growing, softly speaking to them in docile tones, encouraging their growth. Most found gardening to be a lot of work, but the repetitive, menial tasks often got her mind off of more disturbing thoughts and the cheerful blooms made her smile.

When she wasn't tending to her carpet of flowers, she would simply bask in the warmth of the day, feeling sleepy and dozing off. Sometimes, timid woodland animals would come by and nap with her--the bravest ones being the rabbits who actually stayed nestle in her arms while she slept the afternoon away. Today, something rare happened.

A wolf had appared to her and she wondered where it had come from and since when did the island carry such animals? It came up to her carefully, eyeing her form as it approached. Persephone, who had been kneeling in the dirt and pulling a weed she had just found saw the animal and froze. It went around the flower garden and stood in front ofher. For a long time, the two stared each other down before the wolf laid itself down, putting its head on her lap. Stunned, the girl tentatively brushed her hand on the canine's head, earning nothing more than a growl.

She always did have a weird way with nature.

"Tiska... your not bothering that young girl are you?" She hears a voice crack out against the serene backround as a man who only looked a few years older then her, but with white hair as the wolf looked up at Keemari and rested his head back on her lap. "Well it's obvious he has good taste in women. I do hope he wasn't bothering you?" I ask her as I look around and take in the scenery such a beautiful landscape, this reminded me of one of my improvments to the Island yet I know this wasn't mine. I knelt down and cupped one of the flowers looking at it thoughtful as I put a bag down. It was full of herbs and other such things. I softly speak to the flower as I hear it softly speak back to me. "Seems you have quite the green thumb." I tell her.

It seemed that the day would be filled with more surprises as a stranger came walking into her little patch of heaven. Her sky blue eyes widened as she took in the handsome form of Keemari coming into the light of her glade. He asked her if the wolf lying on her lap was bothering her and she shook her head. No, it wasn't being a bother, although she was worried that it would bite her. The canine was rather docile though, slowly wagging its tail back and forth, happy to be where he was.

"Ummm...thank you," Persephone said with a soft, friendly smile. "It's not everyday I get complimented for my gardening abilities." The girl reached out and brushed her fingertips along one of the flowers, the plant somehow showing its obvious pleasure for being so cared for. "It's also not every day I get a visitor, too."

"Ha Tiska is quite docile except when threatened, I believe he's a rogue wolf he snuck onto a plane and exited during the unloading of lugauge." I tell her thinking an explanation was nessecary to explain his presence as I can hear the flower sing when she carress it... she is quite skilled for a human I thought to myself.

"Well I've been going around the Island myself trying to coax more life out of it. I'm a botanist and this Island is perfect for my studies." I tell her with smile. I then add. "You know you do a good job when a botanist compliments your gardening skills."

The girl couldn't hear the flower sing and it was a shame for she probably would have enjoyed hearing its happy song. Not wanting to be left out, the wolf rose up and butted his head against her soft chest and nuzzled her neck. His fur tickled her skin and she laughed innocently scratching him behind an ear. "Well, Tiska certainly is very friendly...I wonder if he's alone though...it'd be rather sad if he ended up here all by himself..." Persephone was a bit homesick and came out to garden because it reminded her of home. The girl lived out in the country for a while and when her family moved to the city she madea garden in their yard that flourished as the flowers in front of her did.

Her eyes lit up when he said he was a botanist. "Oh, really? Wow...no wonder the island's so beautiful! Did you do it all by yourself? Or did you have some help? Was it hard?" The girl was curious and adorably so. She was sincerely interested in what he had to say. When he reiterated his compliments, she blushed and looked modestly to the ground.

I smirk at her blush... she quite a cute girl, but I had heard something about her before... what was it... oh well lets see where this goes as I answer her questions. "Well to answer you unless you count the gardener at the campus Yes I'm the only one here who takes care of the Island in such a manner save for a few students like yourself. THe work and research I do is indeed hard and keeps me up most nights, but to see it in action is a wonder to behold. Now a present for you." I tell her with a smile as I move over to her plants and take something out of my satchel and sprinkle it across her flowers as I then add water.

Several minutes later she can hear the flowers singing as the compound I gave to them allowed them to speak so even the most closed minded person could understand their laugauge as I close my eyes and enjoy the soft meledy

Deciding it was time to get up and talk to the man before her properly, she straightened out her pink dress and red jacket (which, since it was Persephone, had floppy bunny ears on the hood) and stood up. Tiska was irritated at her for taking away her soft lap from him, but then he caught the smell of something rather nice. He tried to sniff her behind, but she carefully moved away from the animal as she watched Keemari at work. The girl suddenly remembered her manners as he spread something amongst her flowers and then watered them.

"Oh! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Persephone, it's very nice to meet you..."

Her voice died on her lips as she heard the sweetest sound in the world. Were they...were they singing? How beautiful and baffling! She clasped her hands over her heart and turned to look at Keemari, amazed. "You...that's...." She was speechless. Nothing could properly convey how she felt.

"It's so..wonderful wouldn't do it justice. It's extraordinary! Thank you..."

I smirk at her at her shock, for a druid this was a simple matter, however for humans who have long since forgotten even hunted down those who practiced this art, it must have been a miracle. "THe compound I used merely allowed you to hear what they were already singing, think of it as a tribute to your workmanship here." I tell her as I turn around and face her.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Persephone goddess of the underworld." I tell her with a smirk knowing enough about human myth to know that. "My name is Keemari Sulivan. Please call me Keemari."

Persephone was moved though and hugged him in thanks, her soft body pressed up against his a moment before taking a few steps aay, a bright smile beaming up at him. "Still...thank you...you have no idea how much this means to me...." she told him sincerely. Even if something were to happen between them in the future, the girl would come to treasure her little patch of heaven even more than before.

She blushed again, at how he used her name. Yes, she desperately wished her mother had named her something else...anything else, but after the Greek goddess married to Hades. Shelaughed nervously. "Oh, please...don't call me that...I'm nothing like her," she said, face still red even though she resembled the immortal rather greatly--especially in terms of traits. "And a pleasure to meet you Keemari." She bowed slightly to him in respect, something she picked up from her Japanese friends on campus.

"Indeed not, all though I'm sure you posses her beauty Persephone was said to have a heart of Ice which rarely melted for anybody. I can see that is not the case for you." I tell her. Tiska then deciding he was being ignored lightly bit onto Persephone skirt and tugged on it to get her attention ripping it off with a little more strength as he sit down holding it in his mouth as he looked up at us with puppy dog eyes trying to cover his misdeed.

Wow. He certainly knew his mythology. Most people who learned her name were either uninterested men or were romantic, swooning women who would love nothing more than to be whisked away by some tall, dark handsome stranger. Persephone was a romantic at heart, but she had common sense. After all...kind of hard to like a guy right off the bat when he kidnaps you.

Persephone squeaked as her skirt was ripped right off of her. Not much of a problem since the girl had taken up the habit of wearing shorts under any skirt she wore, but a misdeed was a misdeed. However, when turning to face the wolf, her heart melted. Even if she wished to strike the animal (which she really didn't--for several reasons), seeing how sorry he looked made her feel like she couldn't reprimand him.

Compassionately, she kneeled next to the animal and scratched behind his ear. She marveled at how rather docile and domesticated the wolf was being. It hadn't tried to hurt her once. "It's okay...but next time...don't pull off my clothes to get my attention" The girl had a big heart and it'd be a shame if something broke it in half. The flowers sang their praises of her and she heard them, making her blush. The wolf leapt at her then, knocking her over onto her back, his tail wagging quickly as he had her pinned on the ground, a heavy paw on her shoulders.

"Yikes...whoa there Tiska...down!" she said, laughing as his tongue licked and tickled her face.

I laugh as the wolf snatchs her skirt off as I see her wearing shorts. "My your a more forgiving soul then most and your wearing shorts underneath, it's like you planned to lose your skirt?" I ask her joking a bit as she talks to Tiska. He then makes the next move by jumping up and pinning her down licking her face, all around it as she giggles, it was quite a sight as I can't help but laugh at this.

I move behind Tiska and rub his ears as he looks up and gets off of her as I help pick her up. I then smirk as she stands up as I kiss her check. "You going to laugh now since I kissed you?" I asked her with a bit of a chuckle as I hold her slightly in my arms as I helped her up and hand her back her skirt.

The large wolf was removed from her for that she was glad. Being in that position with some creature on top of her...brought back some rather unpleasant and recent memories. Even though she laughed, it was mainly as a reaction to being tickled by the wolf's rough tongue. The girl smiled gratefully at Keemari, standing up with his help. She made to thank him, but out of nowhere he kissed her cheek. The one with the heart tattoo on it.

She didn't laugh then. She stood there looking quite stunned with him. The girl took back her skirt and haphazardly tied it back into place around her slim waist, not quite able to meet his face, her own blushing in embarrassment. She wondered what was wrong with herself and shook her head. Her clear blue eyes caught sight of the sky and saw that the color had changed, turning twilight in the early evening.

"Well...it's time for me to leave for now...I'm heading towards the aterfall for a swim," she told him, not sure why.

I turn around and smile at her as Tiska comes close to me. "Well then I'll let you enjoy your swim, to be carefully now and I'm sure me and Tiska here will see your beautiful face again." I tell her as I grab my satchel and begin to leave.

The girl didn't want him to leave though. "Wait..um..." There had to be a wayto prolongue their meeting. "Um...Keemari..do you mind walking me there? It's getting late and...well.girls like me shouldn't walk in a forest alone...especially with a red hood, right Tiska?" she asked, turning her attention to the canine round the end of her sentence. "Never know what type of wolf will come to get me then."
