It was obvious that the reptilian mercenary was going to meet this new client of his. Such a far planet, though; but the job looked promising to him. After reaching the ship docks in the city where he would meet his client, it seemed kinda dumb to wear a full armor, making Rahs opt only for his sword, and the usual gear he used being away from his ship.

His client was located outside the city, in a small base next to some hills. He was a famous slaver whose peculiar capture and trading procedures were feared among all females away from the protection of a strong police force. Recently, he lost his reputation due to the betrayal of his partners, and was vulnerable to any being that wanted a little pay back and to the cold hands of the ADD.

The meeting ended quickly. The slaver was so scared he gave half of the money for agreed to Rahs the moment he saw him. The only thing he had to do was to be his bodyguard until his new partners came to the planet to take him. Until then, he was ready to engage any one who came near the base.

But the mercenary had to retrieve his armor and rest of weapons from his ship and return with the client. He wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings, thinking in the weapons to retrieve, and obviously didn't expect to meet the first attacker after his client just after walking out of the base.

Charged to capture a famous slaver who was disgraced by the betrayal of his comrades, Mai had snuck into the cities docks using a false registration as to not draw the attention of the seedier elements that ruled the city and surrounding areas. Waiting patiently for the crowded dock to clear out somewhat she heard a larger ship pull into the berth next to her. After a short time, when the activity around her ship had calmed she released the cockpit latch and stepped out onto the metal of the docks.

Grabbing her sword from the floor next to the captain's seat she then closed the cockpit, locking it before she started making her way down the dock while watching for guards who could raise the alarm.

Surprisingly Mai made her way out of the city without incident and quickly came to the small base that the slaver had made for himself. Hiding in the treeline near the base's walls she watched as some reptilian being left the gates, a sword sheath strapped to his waist. The lance would be okay, and some firearms could also be needed... Rahs realized as the gates of the base closed behind him. He rested his chin on the knuckles of his hand as in deep thought, until something slightly away from his line of sight moved and caused noise. Hm? Turning his head around, he watched how a crimson mane appeared behind some trees along with a black shadow below it.

Watching carefully, the mercenary realized it was a girl with a black coat and red hair approaching quickly... with sword in hand. He really didn't expect an attack just outside the base, but it only excited him more. "What the..."

He couldn't finish. Warrior instinct took over and replaced all the mulling Rahs was doing. He quickly grabbed his sword and unsheathed it to block the attacker's sword with one swift move, and quickly lashed his free arm at the girl, but he underestimated the momentum she had and missed, only managing to scratch the part of the coat behind her.

"Well well, looking for a fight? What's your business here, girl?" Rahs asked coldly, his body heating up in excitement. He quickly took a fighting stance after blocking the first attack and looked at the red haired girl with calculating eyes.

Skidding on her heels to a stop as she avoided the counterattack from his free hand, Mai glared at him saying only "None of your business." Checking her coat she saw that it had long claw marks down part of it, causing the seperate pieces to flutter in the light breeze.

Rushing forward it looked as if she was about to attack head on when she seemed to disappear, appearing behind him and swinging quickly at his back following with a swift kick to the small of his back hoping to get him off balance before continuing her assault.

The girl was quick to launch another attack, this time head on. Or was it? As soon as she charged at him it looked like she disappeared right before his eyes. What an incredible speed, he thought, his experience telling him the girl moved behind him as he felt the change in the wind on his skin softly.

His left arm was useful now. Rahs then pressed the blade of her sword against his, in an attempt to take it away from her, but then her kick sent him a few steps forward, barely pulling the sword. Recovering his stance quickly, he looked at the girl and replied "Well, considering you are trying to kill me, it makes it my business."

It was his turn. He leaped forward, landing a few feet from her, and delayed a swing from his sword at her. This was to discover the weakness in her blocking stance and then he would finish the attack. If she were to be bold, and attack as he waited for the stance, Rahs was ready to block using his gauntlet and still manage a swing at her.

Slightly surprised that he had managed to block Mai didn't miss a beat as he recovered his stance saying "You were in the wrong place at the wrong time, lets just leave it at that." Standing in a defensive stance she thought she was ready for anything he could throw at her. Looking up as he leapt toward her she followed his movement, noticing the hesitation in him not swinging at her.

Taking the chance, figuring that he had a counter prepared, she swung at him. She was not expecting the counter that he did use however, as her sword slid along his gauntlet and the sharp blade caught fast in the tough material. Tugging mightily she was forced to back away without her blade as his sword swung towards her.

To me... it looks like I was at the right place at the right time...
His counter was successful, and her sword was stuck in his gauntlet. The girl quickly backed away, though.
