Just as Bala begins to wonder what is taking Ishtar so long, she sees the blue haired girl walking to their table. "I thought you'd gotten lost", Bala said with a smile. "It looks like you were also successful."

Bala put down her pen and said, "I've been thinking about what you said about us becoming roommates. I think we'll be able to convince the administration to let us do it. I think it would be great."

Ishtar smiled a bit, [/color=LightSkyBlue]Sorry, I did get lost there for a bit. But I made it back.[/color] She put her books down with a bit of huff, happy to finally be able to put them down.

Upon here Bala second statement, Ishtar then smiled widely. That is wonderful, I think will be great roommates. Do you think we will deal with alot of red tape in getting that arranged?

"I don't know what's involved", Bala said. "But we can try anyway. We'll have to ask the housing manager. I spoke with her briefly when I got here. A room number and list of rules is all I got from her though. She seemed very curt with me. Maybe we should come up with a proposal before we go to her. We're both freshmen who share at least one class. So studying would be easier." Bala thought for a moment. "Yes. We should really come up with something compelling. I want this to happen."

Ishtar thought a bit about it. Well, we can come up a list of why we would be good roommates. Then from there it should be alot easier for us to show why this is such a good idea. If nothing else, the list will be effective in showing why we could be good roommates.

"I think you're right! I'm sure we could put together an impressive list. They'd have to allow it. In fact, I'm going to start right now." Bala picked up her pad of paper and pen ready to start their list, when she noticed her earlier classwork on it. She gave Ishtar an embarrassed smile and said, "maybe we can start the list after we've finished our classwork."

Ishtar looked over at the mound of books the both had collected in order to work on their assignments. Oh right...homework. I totally forgot why were here in the first place. Your right, we should finish that up first. Otherwise we might not ever get to it if we put it off.

Bala and Ishtar got busy on their assignment. They managed to complete it without further distractions. Both students learned a lot about Elizabeth Browning that day. They also learned more about Pittsburgh and Birmingham than they had known before. (At the time it received the nickname, Birmingham's major industries were iron and steel, like Pittsburgh.)

After leaving the library, Bala took Ishtar to her room. They came in two the anteroom which contained two desks, one with a computer. "That desk would be yours", she said pointing to the other one. "Unless you want this one. I don't mind moving my computer." Bala looked around and pointed to the the door at the side of the room. "The powder room is there. The community shower room is at the end of the hall. It only has ten shower stalls. So if you take your showers in the morning, you'll need to get up early to avoid the rush."

Ishtar smiled, No, that is fine. I kind like where the empty desk is positioned. This is a pretty nice room, I really like how the light shines in the afternoon, it is very relaxing.

Ishtar took a look around the room as she Bala gave her a tour of the room. As she mentioned the limited number of showers, Ishtar nodded. Well that is probably good then. If I get up early, I'll have more time to figure how out my schedule and how to get to class in morning.

Bala smiled at how Ishtar put a positive spin on the early showers. "Well, that's one way to look at it, I guess. The bedroom is through that door." Bala indicated the open door opposite the entrance. The door was open, allowing in the afternoon sun from the windows and revealing the two, over sized twin beds. "It has two closets, two dressers. Well, you get the idea.

Bala went over and turned on her computer. "You can check out the bedroom if you want. I'm going to find the photos I was telling you about."

Ishtar walked over into the bedroom. Wow, you get alot more light on this side of the campus in the afternoon. This is pretty nice bedroom for a dorm. I think I got assigned to an older room on the campus.

As Bala mentions the photos, Ishtar ears perk up. Cool! I can not wait to see them.

As she waited for her computer to turn on, Bala leaned back in her chair and looked at Ishtar in the bedroom. "Actually, this is the oldest dorm building. The newer dorms have a full bath in each room. I think only upperclasswomen get those rooms. Almost every girl in this area is a Freshman."

Bala smoothed her skirt with her hands. Then she signed on to her computer. Since it would take a bit to become usable, she got up and joined Ishtar in the bedroom. "It's not a very big bedroom. But we would each get a bed and a closet and the view is nice."

Oh, really. I didn't realize that. I guess the upperclasswomen get all the perks. As she thought about what Bala just said, Ishtar realized her dorm is probably the same way. It definately explained alot.

Ishtar played with her hair a bit as she looked around, she saw Bala walk into the room. Ishtar smiled, It does have a certain charm to it. So can you see the ocean from there?

"Unfortunately, no. The four rooms at the end of the hall have a view of the ocean. We've speculated that, when this used to be the only dorm, those rooms were for the seniors. Although they are almost as Spartan as my room, they are a little bit better. Of course, now seniors have really nice rooms. And those Head Girls get penthouse suites. Now that's living." Bala finished that last sentence with a wide grin. She sat down on her bed, looking at Ishtar.

This is my bed. That's my closet and dresser. I have a couple things on and in your dresser. But I can get them out quickly. I always expected to get a roommate. So I didn't really spread out."

Bala motioned for Ishtar to sit down. "So who goes first? Should I tell you about myself or do you want to start? You know I'd hate to have someone ask me 'does your roommate have any siblings?' and have to say 'I don't know'", she said with a smile that became a giggle when she finished talking.

Ah I see. Still it is a pretty nice room. Ishtar smiled. Taking Bala's invitation, Ishtar sat down on the unoccupied bed so she sat in front of her.

You have a good point, it would be embarassing not to now anything about your roommate. I guess since you asked, why don't we take turns asking questions about each other. Ishtar brushed a bang out of her face. So why don't you go first, and ask a question.

"Good idea." Bala laid back on the bed, trying to think of her first question. Doing so inadvertently gave Ishtar a view of her lacy, red panties. Such was the design of the Shokushu uniform. Sitting back up with a smile, Bala said, "I've got it."

"Since I already brought it up, do you have any siblings?" Bala smiled at Ishtar and awaited her answer.
