It was a long, heart racing chase, one only imagined by people who watched television. Her prey was as slippery as an eel, but stubbornly she held on, chasing after the vehicle.

A tip to the ADD, the cargo ship was supposed to be filled with smuggled goods. At first it was doubt ridden, but after seeing the vehicle duck into an abandoned space port, it was a bold declaration that their suspicions were true.

Easing her own ship was an easy task, the port had many docks and she chose one away from the target ship. Now she was up and about, silently making her way to the area where the criminals are.

Four hours, thirty two minutes...
They were very late. A cargo ship with smuggled goods was supposed to be here a long time ago. They are not gonna like it...
A pair of humanoid beings wearing something similar to business suits were being showed in a monitor inside the security room in the abandoned space port. In front of the pair of aliens was a table that had a case on top of it.

Rahs was ordered to retrieve the goods, and capture all criminals involved in the activity. He followed the pair to the abandoned space port that was supposed to be the rendezvous point. But the other party was taking too long to arrive.

The mercenary's ship was located in one of hangars that once held giant cruisers and even an entire fleet of smaller ships. The only ships shown in the security room were the ones that were contained in the smaller docks for small and medium sized ships. One has been there for what seemed like an eternity. And the second one just arrived.

"Was about damn time." Rahs stood up from a chair, excited to give these new fellas a warm welcome. He was wearing a light armor, consisting of his usual gauntlets, helm, a worn-out but still useable breast plate and a fauld that covered almost down to his knees. He picked up his sword and quickly left the room, heading towards the room next to the one with the white-collar wannabe aliens.

If he had stayed a couple of minutes longer in the security room, he would have noticed a second, unexpecetd ship arriving...

Even in heels she managed not to make any noise. Pistol in one hand and her other one resting on her staff, she felt capable.

Normally on missions like this there would be a group of ADD agents waiting to trap the criminals. Unfortunately the base was pretty far away so her mission was to keep them there, at least until reinforcements arrive. By the rate they move, that should take less than 24 hours from now.

Her plan was simple, sneak in, disable the ships, and sneak out. Even the port seemed cooperating, being old and seemingly nonworking anymore.

Lost within the winding corridors, she flicked her tongue out, catching the scents og her targets. Letting her snake-like capability guide her she followed the trail, finally ending just behind the door of the meeting place.

The room where the trade was gonna occur had two large doors on either side. Rahs thought it originally was used as a common room or something like that, but it really didn't matter to him anymore. Overriding a code outside the room in a control panel on each door would lock the criminals inside with no way escaping. But the mercenary only needed to lock one. He planned to get his fun no matter what.

He managed to reach one side of the room, giving a sigh of relief as he found the door to be closed. Then, he proceeded to override the code, and a faint light on the door turned red, indicating step one in Rahs' plan was complete.

Clenching his fists in anticipation, the mercenary walked slowly towards the second door, trying to enjoy the moment of his imminent victory. He didn't care about the noise his boots made while walking on the steel floor, since there was no way they could hear him from inside. Only a few more steps until the corner. Then turning left, he'd see the door that would separate him, and his prey.

It was his scent that warned her at first and then came the footsteps. With the door found at the end of a corridor she had only a short span of time to hide her presence.

Silently berating herself for not checking for sentries, her golden eyes quickly scanned the corridor, taking in the scene around her. Lucky for her there was one room at the side, and the door was ajar and she immediately slipped into it.

Keeping herself to the shadows, she let them cover her like a blanket so that even her golden eyes didn’t reflect the light seeping through the crack. She chose a vantage point near the crack, enough so that she has a limited vision of the corridor beyond. Settling herself to a crouch, she prepared for the worst by already lining the gun to her eye and the general area of her target.

In order to raise her chances of not getting detected, she slowed her breaths. Soon the room and the corridor beyond was still except for the heavy clomping steps.

It was too late when he noticed. He wondered how he let the excitement get the best of him. By the time he detected the weird scent, the syrictae was already facing the empty corridor, with a dark room next to his objective. It felt like something reptilian and awfully familiar, like one of his own. His perceivement of scents did not compare to his ability to detect heat sources due to his ophidian genes.

A heat source was inside the dark rom, but it was very faint... practically non-existent. It was still there, nonetheless. It could have been a large rat, or even the recently deceased body of an alien that pissed off one of the criminals. Or it could be one of them, with a gun aiming at his head.

But I'm not dead yet... that means if something's there, it wants to remain hidden

The mercenary shook his shoulders and approached the meeting room door. Engaging this unknown subject in the room would prove fatal to his plans, since the commotion would alert the criminals inside, so Rahs decided to take out the criminals first, and then take care of his new guest. Staring at the door, he held his sword tightly, and entered the room... a light swoosh of the door closing meant he was alone with them. But they were no match, much to his disappointment.

Acandae breathed a little easier when the presence entered the room instead of where she was hiding. Realizing that she was almost detected, she looked for a way out.

The scuffles and vibration coming from the other room alarmed her, and she quickly looked for a way to see the situation. The doors were definitely not an option, after all one of them is probably guarding that. A flash of inspiration filled her and she searched for a vent.

Even if it was abused by B-rate movies, she could not deny that vents were very useful things. Following the vibrations around her she selected the proper way and crawled through the narrow way, gun still in hand, stopping at anther vent where she could watch the other room.

Two down. It's obvious these guys just negotiate
In just a few moments, Rahs had beat down two beings inside the room. The two that came with the smuggled goods to be precise. It was the turn for the largest alien, which was holding the case with the money. It charged towards the mercenary making a large arc with the case hoping to hit him in the head.

The former soldier just had to duck, and then took his arm and threw him towards the wall, knocking him out almost instantly. A whimper made him turn around, and saw how the last being surrendered itself. What a joke...

At the end, he managed to tie up all criminals and with an almost satisfactory sigh, the reptilian warrior quickly left the room. It was time to deal with the other guest in the house. FIrst thing he checked was the dark room in the corridor outside but, as expected, the thing had already left. But he could tell that the sixth being in the space port was still near him.

Rahs finally came to a vent. According to his senses, it felt like something crawled through it recently. Not so quite sure since most of the walls and floor were cold, he looked sideways, thinking where was this strange being hidden.

From the shadows Acandae was impressed at the sheer display of skill. It surprised her, the way he went after the criminals and didn’t murder them, so cautiously she decided to make contact.

The worst thing that could happen, after all, was that he turns out to be hired by a slaver or a bigger competitor. Best case is that he’s part of one of ADD’s alliances. Either way contact was required.

Her fingers working easily she slid the vent open and crawled out, barely giving the tied up criminals a blink. Pistol still up and ready she went to the door he came out, and leveled the weapon at him.

“As an ADD agent, part of the SFA group I ask your name and reason why you are on this ship” she called out formally, not taking her eyes of him.

Twice he's been caught in the open, completely vulnerable. Only reprimands were able to pass through his head. How could he stand around idly knowing there was an unknown presence in the space port? He didn't even try to think while hiding away someplace safe.

It was a female voice, and it asked for reasons and names. But what did she state earlier? Member of the ADD... and a SFA and that... they didn't tell me those stupid pests were after these guys.

But they just had to... and in the middle of Rahs' mission, too. Not only they made the job scarce, but also had to intervene just before reporting back and getting rewarded. But this formality in the alien's voice... it was exciting for Rahs.

It reminded him of the honor soldiers had and the formalities that ocurred before an engagement. Even if she was just asking his name, he felt the nostalgia embrace him. So he decided to turn around to face the being, and to be honest and clear with her.

“Acandae” she replied hiding her surprise that he spoke so readily. Still suspicion was the main thing that kept ADD agents alive, so suspicion it would be to keep her breathing for now.

Her eyes took in his features, absently nodding in approval at the way his muscles seemed honed. That kept her more on guard though; a capable fighter is always a bad thing when he’s not on your side. With an almost unnoticed movement she transferred her weight to her back leg, ready to spring back if he tries to attack her.

Tail flicking to the side she turned the light switch on, closing her eyes for a moment as she took the sudden jar of brightness in. Steadying the gun still leveled at his head she turned to her next question.

“Mission? From who? Certainly not the ADD themselves…”

Acandae... a pretty name I won't forget. It seemed that while he kept staring back at her, the agent looked at his body, nodding. Did she like what she was seeing? Things were getting a bit interesting for Rahs, but also a bit dull since he wanted to just leap at her already.

The lights were turned on by the sexy alien's tail, and she closed her eyes due to the sudden change in lighting. Rahs saw the opportunity and managed to move a little closer to her without making noise in his steps, but he still didn't want to alarm Acandae, so he kept still until time seemed right.

"I don't tend to talk about my contractors, but yes, you can say it's not the ADD... I take it you were also here to deal with them, am I correct?" he replied moving his head slightly to one side, trying to figure out a way to start the combat with an upper hand and not getting shot in the process. She probably was already suspicious, and was getting ready to leap out of danger, so he had to be fast if things were to go violent. Rahs also took into consideration the possibility of making her go near him to make things easier, but it all depended on what she was gonna do next...

“but you seemed to have taken care of that now haven’t you?” Acandae surprised him by smiling at him. “Who ever your contractors are I give them my thanks, though unfortunately you’d have to turn your prisoners over to me now.”

“Either way it fits doesn’t it? You don’t have to drag them along with you. And either way you’d have too. my back up will be here soon…” she continued, letting him know there were more ADDs on the way. Of course she did not say when they’ll reach the port.

“Now why don’t we go back into somewhere a little more comfortable and talk about what we’re going to do?”

Again she surprised him, dropping her hand down, holding out her free hand for a handshake as a sign of peace and respect. After all she could easily whip up her gun if it needed to be, but a little trust may go a long way.

I guess I did... Did she just smile at him? She looked more relaxed. Handing them to you? As if... He thought, struggling to hold back a feeling to swing his sword at her, but she said something things fitting. It didn't look like that to Rahs.
So more ADDs are coming... soon is an arbitrary measurement of time, and time is relative... I may still have time to gave some fun with her... He thought, looking at her body once more, noticing how her tight body suit made a cameltoe visible. They reached the room, and the door closed behind them. It was quite a mess, most bookshelves were broken and some books laid on the floor. There were still some tables and chairs around, and looked useable. He placed two chairs near a table, and made a hand gesture that meant she can take a seat. Rahs really wanted to get comfortable so he showed the reason for the table. He took off the scabbard of his sword and put on the table, also taking off his breast plate and fauld and laying them there as well.

With the breast plate removed, Acandae could look at his honed chest muscles and abs, looking like if he could stop a bullet with them. Reaching out with two seemingly delicate hands she gripped the two sides and pulled, smiling inwardly at the crack that signified the separation of the backrest from the seat. A few swipes of her claw was enough to dull the splinters and, when she was grudgingly satisfied, she placed the seat down and sat across him.

"Now if possible I'd like to settle this before the others arrive." Acandae began, Sitting comfortably, her weight resting on her tail as much as the rest of her waist down. "Why don't we begin by you explaining your contract?"
