The Darklight Grimore had watched, through various wards, the new students as they had arrived. It had felt every piece of information about them writing itself inside its pages. Out of the entire plane it had chosen a single new student who would be very easy to manipulate. Aine craved companionship, and hated being alone. She had enough of an imagination so that she could imagine the characters of a book being with her. That would be something the Darklight Grimore, and by extension Seraph, could use.

It was easy enough to teleport her books out of her bags and into a pocket dimension, and even easier to ensure she would be alone in her room and the various students around her with busy. One student proved rather difficult to arrange something to occupy her time and so the Darklight Grimore simply used some illusions to ensure she ran into a prowling monster, thus ensuring that it did not encounter Aine.

With that done the Darklight Grimore waited as she settled in to her room. It watched as she suddenly realised she was alone, and as she started desperately searching for her absent books. Eventually she noticed the Darklight Grimore and settled down to read it. The first page she would read would be one from the 2nd chapter, one of Seraph's battles with a 'demon'.

If Aine had drawn her attention away from the book she would have seen the illusion that the Darklight Grimore cast, bringing what she was reading to life around her. She could choose to read the book, or watch what had happened. That illusion extended onto the pages dealing with the succubus that he had offered the deal. Although it would have no hint of what would take place, at least yet. It had started off as a simple hunt, with Seraph slowly tracking down and drawing closer to the succubus coven.

Eight demons, one of them a succubus matriarch, against a single Angel. Any other angel, even another Seraphim, and the odds would have been equal. But it wasn't any other angel, it was Seraph hunting them down. As such they had as much a chance of fighting back as any of the students here did. But they could still run and hide. Which they had. The coven had scattered, but one by one Seraph picked them off and they fell pierced by dozens of blades forged from light.

Eventually only the Matriarch was left, and Seraph was pursuing her through a cave network. He was slowly gaining ground, but it would be a few hours before he caught up with her.
