Re: Arrivals
"Well to be perfectly honest. I was being serious Red, Wouldn't want a date. I mean hell I still barely know anyone around this place after all. I'm just sort of hoping to make friends with a prefect or a head girl or someone important, rub shoulder with the right people sort of occasion. Get a little leeway in my dress and such."
she smirked at that as she sipped at her mildly alcoholic drink again shrugging slightly at it's flavor. "I've had stronger drinks from the swill served by common wenches in poor villages!"
She sounded like she belonged in a small village surrounded by elves, ogres and dwarves with the voice and tone she spoke in. She really was talented. "A most foul drink not even fit to be drunk by a village oaf! but it will have to suffice as there is nothing else it seems."
alright she was getting a little too into character but, she was having fun now that she had started.

Re: Arrivals
Ryu laughed nervously by Lyndsey's attempt to act like her character, it seemed weird to do such a thing in front of the redhead without any others next to them. She never really intended to act like her own character though, even if it seemed rather interesting to try it. Even if she managed to imitate a suitable voice, she would feel like a fool if she did, but at least she gave it a try with a warning voice. How dare you to turn this vigorous beverage into such offal? Efforts of many beings have been put into this sensational work to serve it someone like you! You may apologize for your mishap or face reasonable penalization. You may appear to be a prince, maiden, but you are not capable to ignore the legislation.
A smile, nothing else she could think of at the moment. The punch was something she wouldn't drink, so there must be other ways to get through the day. She reminded herself about the tables where food had been placed, maybe she would be able to get some before it would be either empty or not so fresh anymore. Ah, well... prefects and head girls, come on... Who cares about such supervisors anyway? They ain't fun if you ask me, stuck to the rules in such a strange system. Anyway, I guess you'll do what you have to do, right? I am going to eat something, if you leave, you know where I am.
She waved one last time before she turned around again, heading for the food she desired to spent her afternoon and evening with, but then she turned around again, still smiling and keeping her voice as low as possible. Oh yeah, and... someone's going to rape you, we kick some ass, right? You know, I didn't forget our conversation.
The redhead turned around again, walking towards the couple at the table with the punch, fortunately it was pretty close to the food so she wouldn't miss the chance to listen to any conversation if possible. In fact she disliked couples in a way, maybe because it reminded her of her own, being alone most of the time but to listen to some useless ramblings always wasted enough time to survive such a party. She tried to look interested in everything the tables offered, even though she most likely didn't intend to eat anything in the first place.

Re: Arrivals
A single comment turn the mercenary's head quickly to his side as a young woman in a pale violet gown made her way towards him. She had a very amused face that didn't look like a student's considering she saw the tentacle. Her violet eyes turned towards the rest of the room after explaining to Rahs that he shouldn't have stomped on the tendril.
"The fact that they have to wait until the fun starts doesn't give them the right to spoil the fun," he answered turning around to face Rhia and looked at her dress, guessing that purple was probably her favorite color and then looked over at where she was staring. After that, Rahs looked back at her when he saw in the corner of his eye that she gazed at him. It wasn't certain for the mercenary to know what she thought as she looked at his disguise but it didn't matter much, it was that or staying below like the rest of the monsters.
The mercenary did as her and turned once again to the students in the room, his eyes inspecting other girls. He crossed his arms as Rhia once again brought another topic up and glanced at her before knowing she meant Ryu and Lyn. "She is lovely indeed," Rahs replied, staring at the redhead that was making her way to the food table. Before she reached the table and started eavesdropping, he managed to add with a light laugh, "And the young prince is very fun. I hope she doesn't destroy the place though." The mercenary smiled when he saw how Ryu looked at the food. Probably if she was hungrier she would have made a better attempt but it didn't matter much for him either, as he looked at her figure before turning to Rhia again but didn't say anything.

Re: Arrivals
Near the refreshment table stood another male, a dark-skinned young man in a black leather knight's outfit, armor plating and chainmail strategically included. He was leaning against a decaying marble column, arms crossed and an uninterested expression on his face. The young man was the very picture of "bad boy," and there was already one group of girls whispering to themselves about him. When Ethan had received the invitation from one of the school's Head Girls, he'd fully planned to skip out and leave his date to fend for herself. But after thinking about it, he decided it might be for the best after all. He was going to need to feed that evening anyway, and there would be plenty of opportunity to do so here. And most of all, Ethan would have some time to attend the prom and pretend to be a regular human again. It wouldn't last long, but he'd take whatever he could get. With every day away from the Earth, Ruisetsu was finding it easier and easier to rationalize the things he did on the island. He didn't like it, but neither did he see any real alternative. (For those of you playing at home, Ethan has this face/skin tone: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/521 ... kezawa_kazAnd this costume: http://www.trueswords.com/images/prod/c ... OT_540.jpg)

Re: Arrivals
I sat timidly in the corner. Or more precisely, skulked as I sipped from an archaic goblet filled with a shimmering red drink. The excitement and anxiety from the preparations for the prom having worn off, I suddenly felt nervous and frightened. I had no one to talk to until my date arrived. I'd forgotten to make arrangements with any of my friends! My bright blue eyes darted across the floor, trying to seek any familiar faces. I saw several distinctive figures, clearly not female, walk through the dance floor. It seemed that the appearance of a Knight was quite popular amongst the males. It would make finding my own date much harder, as he was supposed to dress as a Knight as well. I pushed myself off of the wall and looked down at my brightly colored costume, stroking my behind to brush off anything that may have been on the wall I had been leaning on. I began to walk towards the refreshments table, downing the last of my drink with a tip of the golden and falsely-jeweled goblet. As I walked, my two long braids quivering against my shoulders and my dress shimmering about me, my eyes caught the face of a darker skinned man. His skin had the look of being tanned by the sun, as if he'd spent much of his life in the outdoors. A rugged look, magnified all the more by the patches of armor he wore over a leather get up. He looked much more authentic then the other knights in the room. I timidly began to move closer. I'd introduce myself, if it wasn't my date, I'd at least meet someone new. I walked right past him as I went to the refreshments table, hoping to catch his eye for a chance to introduce myself.

Re: Arrivals
[OOC: I apologize for my disappearance - family emergency as I state in the absence forum] Quote: "I guess you are right. The ones I know are very nice and... handsome, but I don't like crowds, seriously." Aurora nods slightly, "You may find, after a while, that you come to appreciate being around other students more than you think" she tells Ryu with an enigmatic look. Quote: "Nevertheless, I like costumes. This may be the only reason I even decided to join the party." Her eyes returned to Aurora, running down her body to take a look at her costume again. "I like yours, it looks quite mysterious, like the ghost of a princess from the past got revived once again to enjoy this event as well as many other mythical creatures." "The costumes are quite amazing. The school definitely went out of its way to make sure that we could have almost anything we wanted." The words are innocent enough, but is there a touch of suspicion in her voice. "I hadn't really thought about the idea of a ghost, although I can see it. I am a priestess of an Ice Goddess, so I thought a winter spirit or princess seemed appropriate." "I like the sort of web-motif you have going. The way the lacings of your clothing are rather like webs themselves. It's a nice complimentary image." Quote: "Excuse me please, but I guess I have to say hello to my friends now. It was a pleasure to meet you anyway." "Of course, Ryu. The pleasure was mine. Please enjoy the evening." she'll tell the other student before leaving her to go find her friends. As the other students mingle around, Aurora will head over towards the refreshments table since a number of people seem to be congregating in that area.

Re: Arrivals
Karen was almost late. She had an outfit set aside and everything, but that was gone now. A white and blue outfit that she had worked hard to get, and a sword-prop at her hip, she was going to go as something like a knight or dashing noble dressed for a party. She felt it wore on her better than a dress... and helped her feel more secure.
But she didn't have it. That costume was gone. She had little else. She tried to get out of it, but at the scathing words of an irate Head Girl, Karen slunk out of her room in the only thing she could find. A dress.
It was an old dress, something she had packed to remind her of home. A doubly precious item now, with this school away from home holding its own secrets, and horrors. But she had filled out and drew up quite a bit since then. With some help, she had extended the neckline as much as she could, worked with the hips of the fabric.
It was a blue dress, set with varying shades over its several layers. The darkest and deepest blue was a fabric choker that came around her neck, and split with an 'X' to move around her back and over her sides. It helped keep the dress tight around her, and let the back stay open all the way down towards her hips. It also bore dark, detached sleeves that went down to just past her elbows, splitting there and ending with a ruffling almost like the edges of a flower's petals. A generous neckline presented more cleavage than she had wanted to ever wear, but had to be pulled out to give herself some breathing room for her own admittedly generous assets. Even now, she felt it was too tight.
The body of it was a slightly lighter shade, still a deep blue, what swept down from the neckline, hugging her full curves, and disappeared under two more layers. Blue fabric was pinned over her hips, sweeping down from her left to her right, acting like a styled skirt. A second skirt, this one a pale blue, ruffled down her legs, stopping above her ankles. It too favored her left, splits on either side letting her walk, but the right side was open more, showing the side of her long and firm legs to mid-thigh before her legs were lost in the folding skirt and closing slits.
It finished with simple but elegant shoes. Her old ones didn't fit, but she had found some that fit. Dark blue shoes with narrow toes... they weren't high-heels, but those things were murder. They still felt too damn girly for her, though.
But this ensemble worked. It was admittedly very attractive, the sash-like hip-skirt and leg-skirt giving an air of playfulness to what would have been an otherwise formal gown. With her long black hair free from its ponytail, it swept down to her hips and danced against her sides. It had originally came with elbow-long gloves, but she felt it made her look even more formal.
Karen was used to sneakers. These narrow-toed shoes felt awkward, and she kept on trying to curl her toes as she walked. It didn't work well. Tottering in slowly, walking gingerly, she let her fingers linger on the doorframe into the themed room. Already, there were a lot of people there... eating, drinking.
She wouldn't admit it, but she liked one thing about the dress... it'd let her meet someone. After everything that happened... after all the terrible things that happened here, it'd be nice to be able to talk to a normal, ordinary guy for once. ...Maybe even dance. That sent a shiver up her spine, and a faint blush through her.
Slowly, Karen her way into the room, gawking just a little as she brushed a few stands of hair back over her ear. They had gone all out to decorate this place... the food and drink looked good. But she had to hold her composure... she didn't look in that direction, knowing the danger and embarrassment of her pigging out on the refreshments. Instead, she moved further in along the wall, admittedly moving towards the tables. But only to find a spot to lean back against as she took everything in...

Re: Arrivals
When he had heard about the prom, Saur had been thrilled. Always curious, it presented him with a rare chance to interact with the girls in a more social setting. All of his experiences since arriving here involved yelling and screaming and, occassionally, violence. Enlightening as it was, he knew that it presented a one-sided view of humans. He was looking forward to a change of pace, even if it was destined to be a brief one. He'd spent a great deal of time over the past few days preparing his disguise. Drawing on his scientific knowledge, he'd fashioned a small device to cloak him in an illusion. It wouldn't pass a touch test but he'd have to rely on his considerable mental abilities to smooth the feel of his skin if it came to that. There was little he could do about his size, however, so he incorporated that into his disguise, reasoning that a tall, well-muscled man would seem unusual but not terribly out of place or suspicous.
He'd shown up a short time ago. Determined to mingle with the students before the signal was given, he was among the first of the "men" to arrive. Wandering through the growing crowd, he exchanged small talk with the women and a few knowing glances with the other "men" that were present. He paid careful attention to the dancers, watching and learning their movements. Thinking ahead as always, he didn't want to ruin his disguise should be called upon to head to the dance floor.
For a costume, he'd thought back to his time in the Middle Ages and the many knights that had aspired to heroism by attacking him. They were long dead and here he was, centuries later, imitating them. Despite the effort put into his disguise, he could never get away from what he was. A warrior and a fighter, heart and soul. He wore a chainmail coat, glistening in the dim light and extending to his knees and elbows, covered by a deep blue surcoat. Black pants and boots completed the disguise. He thought briefly about bring a weapon but opted against it, not sure of the impression it would give. His eyes, still the same brilliant blue, peered out from a face to match his body; clean-shaven square set jaw, dark closely cropped hair and a bull neck.
Looking over, he caught Karen's eye as she walked in. His eyes twinkled in amusement as he looked her up and down. Quickly, he broke her gaze and went back to chatting with the other students around him; he had time.

Re: Arrivals
A glance about made her smile, if only so it wouldn't make her feel so self-conscious.
Karen was impressed. There were a lot of people here, having fun, enjoying themselves. It almost cut through the silent dread that she had been feeling about this place. For the embarrassment. For the possibilities of what might happen.
Her eyes caught sight of incredible and intriguingly blue eyes. Karen blinked, staring a little. Where had she seen such handsome eyes? It made her heart flutter and her cheeks flush. Surprisingly meekly, she looked down and away, breathing in. Oh wow. The boys were certainly cute, here... the handsome knight was, and a number of the others as well.
Feeling a bit more sure of her footing, she starts to walk out onto the floor. Her foot wobbles a little, but she manages to keep herself of spilling herself onto the floor, smiling to the people she passes. Karen was attempting to mingle with the crowd, a seriously strain on her social skills.

Re: Arrivals
Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Karen as she moved through the room. He smiled to her at her misstep, another brief moment of contact before his eyes slid off her and back to the student in front of him, a petite, pretty blond in the stereotypical red dress. Flirting and laughing as he mingled with the students, he made a point of glancing at Karen occasionally, letting her see his interest as his eyes took in her full, luscious figure on display in the tight, revealing dress she had chosen. Taking her original dress was the best decision he'd made in awhile, he decided.
Slowly, he moved from group to group, dallying here and there to talk to a particularly interesting student but steadily working his way over towards Karen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself; he had decided on his target the moment Karen had walked in. Adrenaline rushed through his veins at the thrill of this new type of hunt, so different from his normal approach but a hunt nonetheless...

Re: Arrivals
Another look. This time, a deeper blush. That can't have been a coincidence. She couldn't help but look away. Part of her grudgingly accepted her new outfit... even though she had really liked the buttons and collar of the other one... how many men would have been looking at her like this? She would have said she didn't want the attention. But, right now?
Then she saw him approaching. She blinked, freezing like a deer in headlights. An arm began to slide up in front of her, as if she could steady her heart physically. Blush deepening, she smiles nervously at the approach of the surprisingly tall and strong-looking man.
U-um... hello? That was great! Great Karen. Now I sound like a goof...

Re: Arrivals
The slow blush that crept up her cheeks and quick glance away whenever their eyes met told him he was taking the right approach. Continually, he worked his way towards her as she surveyed the room. He wasn't far away when he glanced over and caught her looking directly at him. She quickly looked away, a deep blush creeping up her neck and face. Turning, he left the group he'd been in and walked directly towards her, smiling to her when her gaze came back to him. "Karen, we meet again" he thought, his smile widening slightly at her uncertain answering smile and unsteady greeting.
Nearing her, he reached out his hand, "Hi, my name's Steve. Well, my middle name. Kirk is my first name. My dad's a Star Trek fanatic," he said, laughing a little. Despite the view offered by her dress, his eyes never strayed from her face as he spoke.

Re: Arrivals
"Destroy...?" Rhia asked, one slender eyebrow rising quizzically before she turned her head to look back towards the area where Lyndsey now stood alone. Her violet eyes seemed to go unfocused for a moment, as if she were gazing at something far more distant than a point on the other side of the grassy lawn. A crooked grin crossed her face and in an instant she was back in the present, giggling girlishly.
"Well well, she's quite a little firecracker isn't she??" the lovely creature said with a glint in her eye, lacing her slender fingers together as she stared straight through the crowd like a hungry lioness eying an gazelle that had become separated from it's herd.
"Well it's been lovely speaking to you, but I think I'd better go introduce myself to my first dance." Gripping her long white skirts with each hand Rhia curtsied to Rahs before spinning away in a swirl of pale silk and disappearing into the ebb and flow of dancers
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Excuse me...?" said a soft, but confident voice from behind Lyndsey. Rhia stood smiling, a glass of some mysterious drink that didn't appear to be the school-provided punch held between her delicate hands. "I hope you don't mind, but I overheard a bit of your conversation with the pretty redhead and I believe I may be able to help you."
A wide, warm smile with just a hint of a smirk crossed the young woman's lips. Her age was difficult to pin down precisely, but something about her posture or the grace and confidence with which she moved seemed to indicate that she was an upperclassman. "I'm not a Prefect or Head Girl myself, but I have friends in...high places."

Re: Arrivals
Karen was taken back, his sudden introduction flummoxing her. And that made her blush even harder. Hi St-... Kirk. She laughs back, looking up into those brilliant eyes. Words took a long moment to come... when she realized she was staring back up at him, she stuttered and continued to speak.
Oh! I'm Karen... Hinase. My mother's family name. She explained suddenly, even more flustered. I'm-... er, never mind. A Star Trek fan? The last thing he said finally floated up in her mind, and it almost begged the question. It was something that got focus off herself, and she needed that right now!

Re: Arrivals
His eyes kept wandering across the gym like an eagle that hoped to spot tonight's dinner. Just like his real body, the man with the bandanna also had bright blue eyes that matched his hair color. They blinked and focused on a shorter distance, as if waking up from a trance when Rhia repeated the 'destroy' part as if confused by his statement.
"Uh huh," Rahs replied simply. He turned to her again and watched her violet eyes seemed to lose focus as if she was trying to picture the event of Lyn making the gym explode or using something like X-ray vision to see something beyond the walls. "A very fun firecracker, perhaps a bit unstable some times," the mercenary said to Rhia, answering to her excited question. But after that, it was time that the lovely monster had to greet her target. "It's been a pleasure. Have fun with her..." Rahs cooed as Rhia set forth and walked towards the student with the prince costume.
I should do the same thing... he thought as his eyes turned to a lively red mane standing a few meters away from him. Ryu was still inspecting the food, in a weird attempt to have fun being surrounded by other people. The man with the red cape smiled and sighed, like if he just heard a small kid saying a silly joke and then moved forward.
Rahs walked slowly and silently behind Ryu and stopped just inches from her, and it seemed she hadn't noticed him. He could smell her perfume at that distance and he could practically imagine how his hands reached around and ripped her costume apart, but it was not time yet. "I wouldn't take the shrimps if I were you, milady. They taste quite funny." Rahs spoke clearly behind her with a tone not similar to his own. His pitch remained the same, but he spoke very fluently and expressing his emotions, unlike the usual coldness and authority in his voice. It was clear that the syrictae was skilled in acting different behaviors. "Hello, I'm Isaac," he added with a kind smile and offering his hand to Ryu after moving next to her and facing the redhead.
