Background:
Risa is the daughter of a pair of prominent upper-class London citizens. Her father, Lucas, is a world-renowned clock and watch craftsman, making some of the finest hand-crafted timepieces made today. He is known for creating pieces of such accuracy and delicacy that modern mass production techniques are still unable to match. Her mother, Sarah, is a highly respected quantum physicist who teaches at the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of the Royal Society.

As a child, she was thought to have developed slowly. She did not speak until she was almost four years of age. She would continually break her toys, rather than play with them as normal children. Her parents took her to numerous specialists and psychologists to try and help her. What neither they, nor the doctors, realized was that Risa was actually exceptionally intelligent. Her ‘destruction’ was due to her insatiable curiosity, and need to understand how things worked. Her lack of speech was because her mind processed information in such a different manner, that speech felt ‘too slow’ for her to express her thoughts.

Eventually Risa came to learn and understand the nature of language, but her early misdiagnosis as having a learning disorder actually colored her schooling and development. In schools, she was often put into classes with those who had true disorders, leaving her bored and unattentive. Even though her grades were good, it gave her a reputation for having a bad attitude, and lack of attention – the latter actually being true, but for entirely different reasons than anticipated.

She had a habit of also breaking into her father’s workshop or her mother’s lab, where she would start taking things apart and ‘fixing’ them to work better. Most of the time, her repairs were rather catastrophic, although she did actually inspire some of the greatest “discoveries” of her parents through her work.

Her brilliance though was still not recognized, and so her parents sent her to a private boarding school so that she would not interfere with their work. What they did not know was that the boarding school was actually a branch of Shokushu, and used as a recruiting station. Realizing Risa was unique, even if they did not understand her fully, they contacted her parents and arranged a ‘scholarship’ for her to attend Shokushu upon graduation – an offer that her parents eagerly accepted, thinking that Risa had finally made a breakthrough in her schooling.


Psychological Profile:
Risa is actually very intelligent and creative, and is actually a technological bricoleur. Her intelligence is often unnoticed though because her mind works in a very non-linear fashion. As a child, her parents and psychologists actually thought she suffered from attention deficit disorder due to the way she would leap from one topic of discussion to another.


Personality:
Risa is actually rather quiet and shy, perhaps because she is so rarely understood by those who can’t follow the way she thinks. Once she relaxes and opens up though, she can be a bit of a chatterbox, and other people will find it difficult to get a word in edgewise.

Risa has an insatiable thirst for knowledge, especially of technology. She will ask questions incessantly when presented with something new, and if she is not watched carefully, is likely to just start taking things apart to try and figure out how they work (and is equally likely to break it as not in the process).


Appearance:
Risa is a young woman who is rather shorter than average, and extremely curvaceous for her height. Her long blonde hair is worn in two curling pigtails, that if allowed to flow straight would probably reach her calves. Her most distinguishing feature though are her eyes which are a pale pale brown that borders on gold.

She enjoys cosplay, and will often wear some rather unusual costumes when she is not required to be in her school uniform. Her favorite genre is steampunk, and she will often be dressed in outfits of that style – often accompanied by some insane looking contraption that she will have outrageous claims about what it is capable of. 99.99% of the time these contraptions will be useless or just as likely to blow up around Risa (often to the detriment of her garments) – but on extremely rare occasions, her contraption will actually work, even if no one else can figure out how or why.

"Just... keep back..." Risa warns them
*pulls a weird looking mechanical box out of her backpack and tosses it on the ground between them*
Proudly she announces "this mesonic molecular bonding polymer unit will rewrite the strong atomic bonds between molecules into an impenetrable polymer chain that will..."
*the box starts to glow and then what looks like lightning erupts from the box and engulfs Risa, causing her to scream in surprise. Once the flare dissipates her clothing has turned into a pale grey.. then just falls away in a pile of dust leaving her completely naked*
"Not again!" she sighs as she starts to run away.

~chuckles at the show~ I may not catch you not being the swiftest of monsters but the chase is so sweet. You have to go to sleep sometime my dear and there is only so far that you can run on this island ~chuckles again~
