It was another warm spring day for Shokushu, and love was in the air, maybe it was lust...anyway, Slimer had spotted a beauty that had captured his attention. She was one of the most unique students he had the pleasure to watch yet, and after not much watching he decided he must have her. She went by the name Saffron, he had discovered, but so far she seems to avoid isolation and areas where he would normally strike and appears to like other students as more than friends. A plan began to formulate in his mind.

Slimer then decided to help himself to a students laptop in an empty dorm room where the window was left ajar. Slipping in and then out again he decides to begin implementing his plan. He had observed her through her dorm window one night using the student chat service for communicating with each other instantly, Slimer was amused with this electronic telepathy. Using the directory on the labtop he locates her name and awaits for her to appear online. As classes let out he chuckles to himself about how he should approach this wonder...

I liked to think that Airi was still mine. That I had a pop star girlfriend. Truth to tell I hadn't seen much of her recently, I had been rather alone. I kept things of hers, and kept studying Japanese, hoping she'd return. I closed my eyes, took a breath, and sat down at my terminal.

We didn't have -internet- per se, the university had this whole "isolationist" thing going on, but we had more of an intranet, a network on-site of computers. It allowed us to access coursework from any location on the island. Of course, entrepreneurial girls had managed to develop probably-illicit communication software using this network. Only a few dozen or so probably used the software, in fear of a figure of authority busting the lot of us. But it was a nice way to chit-chat secretly; to engage in secret thoughts.

Looking at the screen name of the girl he had stolen the computer from he decides that it simply won't do. Thinking hard he comes up with the name Secret Admirer S and edits the profile thinking of ways to keep this mysterous, leaving many of the fields for the profile in ????'s. He checks the directory waiting for his intended prey to appear online. If there was one thing Slimer was good at and had perfected from his stay at Shokushu, was his extraordinary patience.

While waiting he imagines what life would be like back home toiling away in the chemistry lab. Such dark thoughts make him relish imagining how things here were. And those thoughts led him to think on the wonderful things he planned on doing to his newest prey. Yes life was strange, and things seemed to be looking much better!
