Virgin: Yes. She has no sexual experience of any kind, though she does understand what it entails, mainly since she is the runt of her Aerie and the others of her species prefer the larger more mature looking mates.
Sexuality: She finds either sex attractive, although she prefers that a potential partner at least be feathered. Non-feathered species seem 'naked' to her although more often than not they tend to be more covered by clothing then she is by her feathers.

Distinguishing features: Noc'tual are a small, delicately built race. With females tending to range from 5'0" to 5'2" and males tending to range from 5'4" to 5'6". Sarahla, however, is considered a runt of her species topping at 4'6" at the end of her adult growth period. The Noc'tual have no arms to speak of as their wings join their torso along where the shoulder joints would be for humans. They have feathers covering most of their bodies with true feathers covering their limbs and back with it thinning to down around the curve of the butt and inward over the privates, and with similar down covering the sides of her neck and around her ears along lower half of her breasts and sides leaving only the portion around her stomach uncovered. Their ears are external and surrounded by down as to protect them from the cold of higher altitudes. Their flight is controled by their legs as they have no tails. The last thing of note is that their feet while mostly human-like end with small talons for toes that allow her to perch on unstable surfaces.

Tattoos/piercings: Neither, though she is fascinated by jewelry and bright objects her kind tend not to collect material possessions until they settle down later in their life.

Background: Sarahla is from the Nu'ranta Aerie, a clan of famous mapmakers and adventurers. Starting from a young age the Nu'ranta children are trained in the art of map making, both for normal terrain maps and the more critical star charts for navigating the universe, while their combat training is put off until later in their growth stages. However, as Sarahla's final growth slowed quickly before stopping well before a normal size for an adult female Noc'tual the elders decided to forego close combat training to have her focus on map making as they knew her size would prove to be a major problem in a fight even against her own kind let along the other species they would encounter in their travels. Due to her lack of combat training she was also trained heavily as a ship captain so she can be more then capable of outrunning a normal enemy ship. And as with many avian races the Noc'tual have a natural sensitivity to sound giving them an amazing gift for languages that would astound the featherless.

History: The "rite of passage" for the Noc'taul is a trip from their mountain aerie down to the spaceport to pick up their first ship and out into to space to chart one uncharted, by the Noc'taul, sector of space. Most young Noc'taul are only sent several months away from the home planet but as she was traveling to her assigned sector her small ship was caught in the hyperspace transport of a large merchant vessel and dragged halfway across the galaxy. Now far from home with no one to support her she must use what she can to make her way home.

Personality/Psychological Profile: Although young Noc'taul are taught to be wary of other races from the time of their hatching, her relative distance from the other members of her aerie has caused her to be much more curious about other races...Often to her own peril. As she is still largely a child at heart and so far from home the sight of other winged races is a comfort for her. She is physically weak, and except from a beating from her wings, she has no combat skills and along with the warnings she was given to take measures to avoid combat or tight situations she is unlikely to be caught in something beyond her ability to escape without great skill to bring her to accept the advances of anyone that would limit her freedom of movement.

Activities: While on her ship she works at piecing together star charts to try and find some semblance of a route home and keeping the ship running. Off-ship, she spends some time people watching; prefering to perch in high places like on a sign or the edge of a roof to watch the many milling about below her, and when not busy with that she travels the planets she stays on making maps of the area to take home with her. No matter where she goes Sarahla foregos clothing finding it to be uncomfortable to fly with let alone even walk in.

Diet: Noc'taul are omnivores and although many of the older crowd prefer fruit or nuts Sarahla herself prefers fish and spicy foods.

Likes: Sparkly objects, intresting people, beautiful landscapes or people, flying, and other feathered or winged people.

Dislikes: Being confined or restrained and overly touchy-feely types (she finds that some bodily contact is fine but being held so she can't move is a no-go) More may come with time.

Weaknesses: Close Combat. Her wings can deal considerable blows with proper thrust but she lacks the size to really bring enough power against larger enemies. And her extremely keen hearing can be painful with overly loud or repeated noises.

Other traits: Noc'taul possess limited telekinesis with most only possessing enough power to rapidly adjust their flight path or pick up medium weight people or objects on the ground. This power also is limited to a certain amount in a day as the more they use it the more quickly it will weaken possibly leaving her in a dangerous situation if not used sparingly.
