Act modeling is not an activity normally associated with shyness. Which may make one wonder why Pia Marie Hov, a rather demure and easily embarrassed person, was now posing nude on one of the art studios, at the benefit of a small group of students. Pia was prone to dislike any attention, and being in a position like this was quite contrary to her whole personality. The answer was simple.

Detention.
Some might say that Shokushu being the way it was, it was an almost unavoidable fate for many. Pia certainly did not doubt that if the management did want you punished, they would. Still, pinning something on Pia was usually hard. But she had gotten sloppy lately. Pia had been under a lot of stress lately. As a result her sleep had suffered, and for the last few weeks, Pia had been having a rather poor attendance at her obligatory morning lectures. Such sins did not go unnoticed at Shokushu.

As nervous as Pia was, her meeting with the disciplinarian on duty had gone better than expected. No trip to the dungeon. She was just to do duty helping out the art classes. She was to start immediately.
Pia opened the envelope given her, and read the letter inside. Pia skimmed through the letter as she walked. There was a classroom, and a time she was supposed to be there..

"Noooooooo!", Pia yelled, "They can't do that to me!"

It was an extremely embarrassed Pia that sat in front of the art class. She was nude, as an act model is supposed to be. She was vainly trying to cover herself with her arms, much to the annoyance of the teacher. Her face was cherry red, and she was continuously biting her lower lip. She was certain that every one of the students watching her was silently judging every blemish she had as they sketched.

Laele really hadn't expected this surprise when she had come into class today. She'd never heard of a college using a nude model for sketching; most of what she had expected for a freshmen art course was shading practice on still life. She sat in her usual seat glancing at Pia with a polite comforting expression on her face thankful for the model's participation despite how embarrassed she seemed to be right now.

The professor moved to pia whispering something into her ear that Laele couldn't hear, but it was plain as day for pia.
"place your arms behind your back as I discussed or you'll have a weekend in the basement as well as this Miss Hov..."
the tapped the girl's back slightly
"And do straighten up miss Hov, your posture is horrible for sketching."

Laele looked up to Pia once more as she shaded her legs slightly.
" Excuse me, professor, could you have the model shift her legs slightly? I'd rather not sketch her privates. it wouldn't be appropriate or polite."

"Sorry!", Pia blurted out and quickly placed her hand behind her back, interlocking her fingers to keep from instinctively covering her chest again. She straightened her back, forcing her chest forward. Pia was now sure that every single girl in the room must have better posture that herself, and probably were secretly rolling their eyes over her clumsy awkwardness.

One of the students were smiling at her. Pia made a shy smile back, happy for any support right now. Then the girl actually went and asked for Pia to assume a less exposed position. Pia did not let the teacher get the chance to answer before she had complied. Turning slightly, she put one foot in front of the others. It felt so much better.

"Thank you!", Pia mouthed without words, hoping her benefactor would get it anyway. Pia used the chance to study the student from the corner of her eye. She was a bit taller than Pia and perhaps a couple of years older. She was quite pretty, and had a quite feminine figure. Pia wished she looked a bit more like her. She would not feel stupid in front of a crowd like this, Pia was sure.

Laele just offered a faint smile as the girl shifted on in her place and she would continue her sketch of the woman glancing up once in awhile to check her proportions and shading. Time crept by for pia, a few of the girls sketching were laughing amongst themselves as they worked making quiet lewd comments about Pia though the professor quieted them quickly.

When the class finally ended Laele stood finally completing her work and moving to the door to wait for a bit. the other students purposefully passed close to the model one or two suggestively passing a hand over her hip along the curve of her bare skin another pinched her bare bottom. when all save Laele was gone the professor approached Pia.
"Nice job Miss Hov, you may go dress now."

She moved to the back of the room to her desk before Laele would approach.
"Forgive the interruption Madam. Just thought you might like to see the sketch I did."
she offered turning her sketchbook over to show a near perfect well colored rendition of her nude form in a field sitting on a tree stump.
"You make a fantastic model for art, your lines are quite perfect for it. Glad you volunteered."

Pia squirmed as some girl pinched her bottom. She bit back her urge to protest. She knew that the garden variety bully feed on any kind of reaction. And if an argument broke out, the teacher knew she was the one that was here because of detention. That meant she could probably not count on her sympathy.
That it bothered Pia was still plain to see, just like Pia's relief that class was over. She headed over in the direction of the chair where she had put her clothes.

When Leale approached, Pia was still getting dressed. Holding her uniform in front of her, she looked at the sketch. Her eyes widened. It was her in the picture, nude, outdoors.

"It is beautiful!" Pia said earnestly. "You make me look so.. uhm.. peaceful and all. Oh, I wish I was like that." That was true. The Pia in the picture was natural, pretty, in a serene setting, surrounded by nature. Such a stark contrast to her current life. Being part of such a creation almost made it worth the awkwardness.

"You are very talented, Miss..?"

"Laele Azure Zazel; Miss Hov, and please I'm only as talented as the model allows when it comes to this sort of art. you had a very natural look to you, it helped me out a lot."

She was trying to be modest despite the fact she really didn't need to be. she kept her gaze down to the ground as to be polite to the still mostly undressed woman. For a short time she decided she should just leave but, her mind ran over the idea of thanking the model as she had done a time or two in the past; and here she was certain she could use a friend or two.
"Would you be opposed to something to eat Miss Hov? I'd like to thank you for posing for me if that's alright... of course You should finish getting dressed first. Wouldn't want you getting detention for being out of uniform outside of a designated area."

she quoted the rule well there, almost as if a prefect herself though, this was obviously not the case, not yet anyway; even if the idea of being one, or even one day a head girl, did peek her interest. not something to mention though. She just smiled to Pia moving to the door. waiting for a response.

"I am Pia Marie Hov. Pleased to meet you, Miss Zazel!" Pia said, offering her hand if the kind girl wanted to shake it.

"Thank you, but I am not a talented model, I am afraid. I am not a model at all actually..", she said. Now she was blushing, not used to praise, especially not from other students. Quickly she got dressed. "This was my first session, and I only got the job because I needed to work off some demerits. Oversleeping." She added. She somehow felt bad for admitting that part. It was not that she felt anything morally wrong with disobeying school rules. She knew enough if the dirty secrets of this place to neither respect its managements, not its version of discipline. But Pia was still Pia, and part of her still took pride in her academic achievements.

"Food would be lovely!", Pia answered. She was very glad Laele made the offer. That meant a lot to her. She did not have many friends, and lately, she found the hours she spent being lonely more and more unbearable.

Putting on her socks (white with blue stripes, just above her knees) and her shoes (a new pair, white with pale blue details), she stood up, ready to follow her new friend.
"Laele.. that is a pretty name.. uh.. can I ask you where you are from?"

Laele smiled still despite being a tad surprised at pia not only not being a model but, being there because she over slept. it seemed like a cruel way to work of demerits. of course Laele was lucky for the moment, She was still on her last day before her uniforms arrived thus she was free to wear what she wished; despite the fact what she wore was in essence just the school uniform of a more artsy school than shokushu.
"I'm from Lehrte, Germany, it's a very nice place in my eyes anyway. a bit south of hamburg. what of you your name is very interesting as well I must say. I've never heard a family name like Hov."

She was being as kind as one could be to Pia, she wanted a friend after all, someone that the other students weren't afraid of. It was bad enough being the oldest freshmen in the school she didn't need people to avoid her for other reasons.
"And you like my name? It means dark beauty who assists the angel of love. A mix of hebrew, biblical and Latin. If you care to know..."

she thought Pia would like that little tidbit of knowledge given her opinion of the name.. she moved to the door glancing back making sure Pia was following.
"Mind talking with me about the school a bit? this is only my second day."

"Dark beauty, assist the angel of love.. Wow! That sure is some name!", Pia said, quite impressed. "Hov just means a place of sacrifice or worship of the old gods.. It pops up all over the place in Norway. Which is where I come from."

Pia's stomach growled a bit. She had been eating little this day, and now that her belly saw the opportunity to get some food, it decided to remind Pia that one box of yogurt was not enough. Pia felt a little pang of embarrassment, but pretended as nothing.

"So, what do you want to know about the school?", Pia continued. "I'd be happy to tell you anything you need to know".

Here she was a little uncertain. She knew a lot about the school, a little more than she was supposed to know about. Should she warn her new friend? Would she believe her? Or would she tell someone else, someone who might not approve of Pia sticking her nose in the numerous secrets of the island.
Take it easy. She is new, she meant nothing of that sort!, she silently reminded herself.

Laele thought for a few moments as she lead to the cafeteria smiling as she went glad to have some company to eat with. She finally decided on something to ask as they began to near the crowded chatty room.
"Best thing to start with I suppose would be people or places to avoid in the school as to avoid trouble. I'm a tad... older than most of my peers her and would like to kknow where to avoid the more dangerous cliques such as the former criminals or what not. Not that I wouldn't try to trust them It's just a caution or... uhm... ugh I let my words run away from me it seems.

She paused after her rambling to organized her mind a little before going back to her question.

"The other students, are there any I should avoid? yes there we are much cleared and less offensive in every way I think don't you?

it was obvious she disliked offending people.

Pia had to give this a bit of thought. Biting her lower lip and furrowing her brows, she tried to think of a good answer.

"Eh.. I am probably not the one you should ask. I am, well, kind of a loner, so I don't know so much about who re the 'bad' ones and the 'good' ones.. sorry."

Well, ain't I little miss helpful!, she chastised herself. Problem was, what was she going to tell her. Pia had a little advice to give when it came to trouble, but how much to tell..

"..uhm.. How can I say this? When it comes to not getting into trouble, you must know that the rules here, they do not apply to everyone equally. I think it is about who is important and who is not. Sometimes, you get into trouble, and it does not matter what you are guilty of. And some get away free no matter what they do."

They were getting closer to the cafeteria now, more people were around, and Pia lowered her voice even without thinking about it.
"Stay clear of the head girls. That is the best piece of advice I can give you. They don't need to follow any rules, and they get to decide who needs punishment without answering to anyone. And I know they abuse that. It is an unfair system, but that is what we have here."

The last part was almost a whisper. Her own experiences with what passed for discipline around Shokushu had been less than pleasant, to say the least.

She listened patiently to Pia as she spoke of what certainly sounded like an unfair system, even more so it sounded like a flawed system and Laele didn't like flawed systems. She shook her head faintly when Pia finished.
"That's horrible! and the prefect i had met was so friendly too... it's such a pity the higher ranked students abuse their power... had anyone brought it up to the administration or do they allow such behavior? or do they just ignore anyone they haven't chosen to do their work for them?"

she sounded a little obviously bothered by everything pia had said. After a few moment she took a deep breath and shook her head.
"sorry about that. got a little hot under the collar there. Won't happen again... shall we go hang out then forget the issues?"

"Certainly!", Pia said. No need to worry Laele too much. Still, she felt she needed to clear things up a bit. "Uh.. A prefect is not a head girl, but they do report to them. If you have met a nice prefect, that is good. I have not had much to do with any of them, really. I guess being a prefect does not automatically mean you are bad."
I know they work for a corrupt system, but they might not know that themselves.

"I have found that the management wants things to be quiet, mostly. I wouldn't bother them with something unless I have to, honestly"
Understatement of the year. Pia had seen what the management did if someone complained about their head girls. Her lover, Cala had done so. She had ended up as the personal slave of a head girl. It was a sore subject, and Pia found she suddenly wanted to change the conversation.

"So..so how long have you been an artist? Your work is quite beautiful!"


OOC: Good to see you back

Hearing that the management didn't want to deal with it she decided to drop the idea for now as pia had seemed to, for now stowing it in the back of her mind to handle it later and perhaps ask them herself at some point. she sighed a little at Pia's question and eventually just smiled.
"I've been sketching since i was ten... so almost twelve years. but, Really I'm not as good as you give me credit for Pia, I still have trouble putting a soul into my work. I'm a hobby artist at most."

she said blushing just slightly though that was the only thing on her expression, otherwise with was just a blank faint smile of sorts. she wasn't used to being complimented by people. she stretched slightly.
"Where do people usually hang out here anyway and what do they do once the do get there?"
She decided she may as well ask; it was better than wandering aimlessly.

Pia protested a little as Laele claimed to not be so good. "I respectfully disagree. The soul of your sketch is just what I liked."

They were in the cafeteria now. Luckily, it was not too chock full, although it was virtually never empty. Getting a piece of food was not too difficult.

"Were to hang out.. now that is a good question.." Pia said as she was picking out a tuna salad. "I.. uh.. as I said, perhaps not so sociable as I should.. so other might know better. A lot of the students are into various clubs and activities. Then there are the commons rooms in the dorms, and the cafeteria. A lot go straight for the beaches after class. They are quite lovely."

Pia used to swim a lot herself, but having learned of some of the creatures that lived in it, she never went for a swim without plenty of others nearby.
