Kirsty smiled and nodded at the offer of a drink. "You must like company I goof deal to have so many rooms. Do you often host so many house guests?" She asked conversationally.

The acorn tops were filled up with some crushed ice and a fruity trink as Flawicket got straws for them all. No one bothered to ask Harold if he were drinking, since Zoot was more focused on Kristy than his other guest, sitting across from her as his brother took a seat across from Harold who opted to drink as well. He was quite and listened, maybe considering his options here given that he had an obstacle to contend with if he opted to get a little frisky with Kristy again.

“Oh, the Duke, Marduke stops by from time to time with his retinue so we have to be prepared at all times for guests dropping in. It is not often that we entertain humans and I do hope that you find everything to your liking.”

Kirsty drank readily, not suspecting any danger from such a fruity concoction. She noticed Harold was being quiet but as her hosts were talking she didn't bring it up. "Everything has been lovely so far. Which room shall we be staying in?"

(Lots of short posts for this one right now. Can't think of anything else to write.)

(it's alright, short posts are fine as set ups to bigger ones when there is more going on, I usually cut one of two ways with info, either I give out a ton of it at once if someone is reading a computer file or book but smaller when questioning someone so as not to skip things too quickly and allowing for plenty of questions)

“Ah yes, I should have shown you first.” Zoot stood up after a quick sip of his drink. There were eight rooms as far as the bedrooms went, six were guest rooms two their rooms which had been set in the middle of them.

“Incase a guest needs something durin the night they don't have to go far,” Flanwicket commented as he pointed out his and his brothers room towards the middle.

“Well with you two being our only guessed you can take this room near mine so it will go you, me, Flanwicket and then Harold.” He pointed out the rooms then opened the door to her room so she could look aroun.

There was a huge bed her, a dresser and mirror, a writing desk, closet and even cabinets stalked with a few snacks and some beverages in case someone got a sweet tooth in the middle of the night. Extra linens were in the bottom draw of the dresser, the others empty and all the guest rooms were identical to this one Flanwicket mentioned.

Kirsty was pleasantly surprised by the size of her room, her bed in particular. I was nicer than most hotels she'd stayed in. "I can't imagine needing anything with a set up like this. As long as you let me know where the bathroom is I'm sure I won't need to bother you all night once we turn in." The only thing that concerned her was how far her room was from Harold's. Though that was as much a good thing as a bad thing. Of the three, Harold was the only one who'd proven himself to be an untrustworthy man. It was probably a good thing he was staying three rooms down from hers tonight.

“Bathroom if just at the end of the hall my dear. Last door on the left. You can see it once we leave here. I'm glad that you approve of the room though, this is the that the Duke usual has when he is here, The rooms are essentially the same, less snatchs in the others though. The Duke is known for his sugar cravings though and I thought you'd appreciate the room.

“Come, let us get back to our drinks before of spirits loss their chill.”

"This is the room you use for royalty!?" She asked with an expression of surprise. "You really are too kind." She was ecstatic. They had given her the Duke' s room. She should probably feel bad that she was getting the royal treatment while Harold was pretty much being ignored and she did a little... a very little. Still, he was the one being all stand-offish.

"does the Duke visit often?" She asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

“Save for the snacks the rooms are identical.” He walked them back to the benches and their drinks taking a sip of the fruity beverage through his straw. He smile at Kristy, hands going behind his back as he rocked a little back and forth on his heels.

“The comes by often enough but not too frequently either. He hunts wolves and thus drops by more in the summer and spring when they are out in theses parts. He was just here two days ago so if patterns hold up he probably wouln't be back for another three weeks or so.

Flanwicket sat down and began drinking a lot from his own shared beverage. Zoot gestured back to the seats before taking his again.

“But indoorswe are safe from the wolves if if it's not uncommon for them to come about sniffing around from time to time.”

"I take it they are quite troublesome." She said as she took a sip of her drink. It was really quite tasty. She would have said as much but she didn't wish to derail the current conversation. "Have the Duke's hunting parties done nothing to deter the wolves from approaching humans?"

“The wolves or the Duke's men?” He laughed a little. “It isn't too bad but there is a barghest here near these parts that I think have been inciting the wolves. The Duke hunts for it but it is a crafty creature and forever eludes him.”

He drank, Flanwicket did and Harold excused himself so he could dump off some of his survival gear in his bedroom. He came back and joined in on drinking the fruity beverage trying to discern what fruit went into making it. In a quest to find out he drank a good amount but did not seem to get drunk, of course it might have been the sort of drink that affected you once you tried to get up.

Flanwicket drank an equal amount though Zoot didn't drink as much as the others being more of a social drinker and sipping the beverage every once and awhile rather than sucking it down like his brother more entrnched on the conversation at hand then anything else.

Kristy drank freely as they spoke, not suspecting that the fruity drink might be at all alcoholic. She didn't think they had had mixed drinks in this time period. Whatever that time period may be. She didn't consider that this was a dream and thus operating on its own set of rules. "A Barghest? What is that?" Kirsty had never heard of that particular monster before.

“It's similar to an extraplanar demon that can take the shape of a wolf or goblin … when they mature after consuming enough bodies it returns to whince it came, I'm no expert on them like Sullivam is ...”

The drink while good, generated a slight buzz in her head, a tingly sensation swept over her limbs … this, this was alcohoolic? But she had not drunk to much of it and clearly Harold and Glanwicket were fine and they both had drunk more. Zoot was drinking out of the same bowl and looked fine, talked well, no slurred speak … nothing that indicated that he or anyone else had been getting a buzz.

"That sounds... scary." She spoke slowly, trying not to slur her words. She didn't think she was a lightweight but maybe alcohol on this world was just stronger than it was where she was from and they were more used to it than she was. "Has it been attacking people too...?"

“It is, it gets stronger as it devours people, as it ages. Since it gets stronger off of life forces gathered I imagine it has been attacking people but I have not heard of it attacking anyone near here. Perhaos it's just killing goblins, it is a shape shifter but Sullivan once told me that they tend to take over tribes sine they are so much stroner han goblins.

“In the mean time thoughthe Duke keeps looking for it but never has found it.”

Kirsty nodded her head but it was getting a little bit harder to concentrate on the story. She sighed and set her drink down, deciding that she had had enough for one night. "Well, I hope he finds it. If it is shurring..." She paused and shook her head. "Stirring up the wolves then it needs to be stopped."
