 She didn't quiet understand what they meant or what they were talking about but, anything that could make someone care that much about people in such a way was worthy of praise in darwin's book & she half heartedly smiled without a word still fighting off the breakdown still though slightly more successfully.

Kari led Saffron and Darwin to her room. She was thinking about what it is they could possibly do there... several ideas already came to mind.

I followed along happily, even if I did feel like a third wheel. I had long-ago realized that most times I felt like a third wheel, it was my own crippled sense of self-esteem and not anything to do with being unwanted. Still the question addressed to Darwin made me sure that I had to shut up and wait to be spoken to.

I wasn't even making sense to me, just spouting off things as they entered my brain. I was speaking to fill the silence, not because the words held meaning. Not comfortable... why? I wasn't sure.
