"She bears startling resemblance to the black widow spiders of this Plain," Magadon noted idly, waving away smoke from a bubbling cauldron on his desk. A shadow in the shape of a taloned hand daintily plucked a chopstick beside it and began to stir the mixture thoroughly as more shadows ruffled through the contents of his desk.

"She could aid me," his voice echoed thoughtfully across the room as the smell of oregano tickled his mortal nostrils. "In more ways than one."
